For simplistic games, it'll be great. For games that require you to do more - without a physical device, I fail to see how it'll work well (like an FPS).

Its not really amazing. Your replacing using buttons with motion. Its more interactive, but like Mario Kart and the Wii Wheel, one of the problems was that theres no feedback with the wheel when your turning it, theres no 'stand' for the Wheel. The same can be said about Burnout paradise and Natal's controls. And like I said, some simple games will use it well, but beyond that I don't see it working without having a physical device.

I didn't think there was much lag. Dont forget, there is still plenty of time to refine this before it comes out and for more ways for games to actually be built around this unlike burnout.

No, but the vast majority of console owners are probably casual players. Casual players doesn't mean soccer moms only - A lot of people who play Halo, GTAIV, COD4 etc are casual players, they place every once in a while - unlike most of us who are on here, who play games as a hobby and are passionate about them - these people play them to pass time.

So you knew what I meant by casual gaming, but decided to take it out of context anyways?

I see natal being compatible with practically any genre...I dont understand why some of you only see this working with small games. Depending on which features within the camera you decide to use (voice recognition, facial recognition, motion) it can be adapted for anything, especially in conjunction w/ the 360 controller or one made just fro the camera.

the strategy one is easy. Voice to input commands, and you can use the controller or hand movements to navigate. You could also use the hands to do everything. Platforming...well, the ingame camera control could be done through the camera. Simply turn your head to look in a particular direction. This would free up an analog stick for more input..

Did we watch the same video? It was slow and unresponsive? Massive damage control.

They showed a casual game, was a bit messed up but it wasn't supposed to be some high budget amazing thing and then they showed a "hardcore" game, that wasn't even built with natal in mind and it worked FLAWLESSLY, no delay, no lag no unresponsiveness. I could totally sit on my couch and play that with Natal.

I know you're just firing random ideas, but they're pretty gimmicky.

Movement would be the main issue for platforming, what with all the jumping around and running.

lets see here. start with easiest Sports: Call plays with the voice input (cant get into more detail considering there are so many sports) Fighting: could very well be done with full body control. The game would need to be different from previous fighting games. Combo systems and special moves would need to be completely different. Specials could possibly be done throught he voiice input Action: Camera control w/ facial movement like platformer. Switch weapons, reload through voice...

I was watching Craig Ferguson. =) anyways, on topic: MS can publicize this thing all they want...but in the end of the day I see natal failing....why? because it isn't a compulsory/main feature of the xbox 360 like motion controls is to the wii... I see it ending up like the eye toy...but that's just one man's opinion.

I think most people are missing out on one major aspect of the Natal thing... The 360 isn't gonna be all about Natal. It is just one aspect of the 360. That is one of the best things about the 360. You can have casual experiences, social experiences, hardcore gaming experiences, and great entertainment experiences (i.e. movies and music). NATAL is not going to replace the normal 360 controler, just suplement it.

Yeah but how are you going to be able to tell the car to go 50% throttle? What I saw was the guys just stepped forward and the car went forward the same speed each time. I don't see how the camera is going to be able to accurately track how much throttle people are going to want to give to the car. Until then racing games are going to be pretty weak without a controller.
