PS3 compared to PC

While looking on Wikipedia for articles describing the PS3 hard hardware, I came to a dead end. I found the GPU, CPU and the rest but I have no idea what it's comparable to on PC. Here are some spec sheets:

Its all numbers to me when it comes to specs. All i can say is my PS3 looks good, compared to my gaming pc however games look kinda grainy and jaggies galore. PC is ultra sharp.Frozzik

It is a great looking game. Still has pretty low texture resolution though and the game still only runs at 720p. Still, it looks good.

Yeah thats it lol. Not even going to bother anymore lol. Pointless to argue. Some one says MGS4 is "ONE" of the best looking games ever and cow's translate that to "THE BEST" looking game of all time. Shame it isn't on pc. Then we'd see it running at 1080p with 16xAF and 8xAF and higher texture resolution. Ah well, guess PS3 will have to do.

Ex. the GPU on a XBOX is 'about' a hd 2600.

Btw I have to admit Metal Gear IS amazing. The visuals are GREAT and can be compared to Crysis and it runs on dated hardware unlike PC witch makes it more great. I still don't think it sould get a 10, I mean as much as the game is good, no game should get 10 because no game is perfect.

MGS4 may excel in story, sound, and gameplay but it does not raise the bar for graphics. Maybe for the PS3 but the PC has been doing those graphics for years now. PS3 fanboys...

Well my PC is in my sig and from what i have seen with my own 2 eyes my PC eats PS3 alive in terms of graphics. So i'd say maybe the its comparable to a Duel core CPU, maybe same as mine, 1 gig ram and maybe a Gforce 7950? or 8600.

Here's a PC game that uses a similar color schemes, actually has higher resolution textures, and it's been out for a year now. Yeah, it's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.

Now please reply with something like "MGS 4 looks x times better" so someone could just bury this thread with some Crysis screenshots.

i have a PS3, and a gaming PC and i am telling you you are talking rubbish. Crysis is so far beyond anything that you will ever see on a PS3 its not even worth talking about. You need to play some PC games at high resolution m8.

It is practically impossible to compare console specs to PC. You would be better off comparing console specs to graphics cards.

It does look good. I can say from 1st hand experience. Its still kinda grainy like most console games though, guess thats a resolution thing. Textures look low res too. Character models are fantastic though. Compared to crysis? laughable tbh.

I'm done with this topic since all the people who don't own a PS3 are denying the FACT that MGS 4 is the best looking game ... time to play MGS 4 the (best graphics EVER take that Crysis)!nVidiaGaMer
