I doubt he raised that much money, unless a good chunk of it was from one group/person. Also, the small part of the article that I read states that he raised enough money for the first phase of the legal defense in 18 hours.

Right... because it wouldnt make sense to raise money for a 2nd phase if the case never makes it that far. Geohot stopped accepting donations, people didnt stop donating.

If need be he will reopen donations at a later time when necessary.... hes not trying to stockpile more cash than he needs.

The problem is when you release a master key to everyone, something that can be used to f*** people online, get illegal copies of a game that someone put hard work into, That's when I see a problem.

And specially when this a*** H*** the only thing that wants its attention and make people believe that he is fighting for you… I mean you give a boy that doesn't work and help pirates 50 bucks.

If you want a video game console that do other stuff more than play video games, buy a PC, and let us true gamers that supports the industry alone.

Ok, you want an answer: people here complains about the PS3 ONLY, because it has affected them. If he never released the master key to the public, things would be way different because no one would be affected with that decision. It would've been just another "lol at sony" thread, but it turned out huge because he wanted some attention.

Was that so hard? Anyway I think this is a big deal for PS3 owners like myself. I just asked my question because I don't remember seeing so many people angry about a hack in any of gamespot's forums before. So I wanted to see if people felt the same way about his other hacks. Just an innocent question that required a simple yes or no anwswer. No need to be a smart alec.
