360 sells like a beast in Christmas, but for now, the gap is indeed less than 3 million.GulliversTravel

This is mainly due to Japan though and the two huge price drops PS3 had all those years that 360 did not have any price drops

When PS3 passes 360, and the 360 fans DC by saying "Yeah, but it took 6 years," that's still ignoring that that means PS3 sold more in 6 than 360 did in 7... Saying that's sad is like saying "your football team didn't manage to pass our team's score until the end of the fourth quarter... you guys suck!" even though the other team didn't even come out onto the field in the first quarter... and still beat them. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Well it wont change my life should PS3 surpass the 360 in terms of sales.. I think for a system to sell close to 60 million is already an amazing task..

Surely for Sony sales & profits are important so I leave them worry about how much PS3 units are sold..

Me being just a gamer I only care about the support (in terms of Exclusive Games, Online Service, Updates etc) given by Sony to their console, which imo was great..

I dont know even why he mentions price drops, looks like Saolin as usual only points out what he wants, i dont remember the 360 being launched at the current price, so there were price-cuts too... Also considering all console manufacturers sell their system all over the world, then WORLDWIDE SALES are what truly count for them.. Am sure for Sony/MS/Nintendo its irrelevant whether they sell a system in US or Malta (which is my country with a population of 400k).. A sale is a Sale !!!!

I am glad at least more people are buying the ps3. Lets face it the 360 isn't as great as it was during the high of its popularity 2007. Now the 360 is a aging console with extremely limited exclusives. A few mulipats like COD and excluives like gears and xbox live are the only things keeping it alive really.

i know that. But DC is stillhappening. Making excuses left and right as to why ps3 outsold 360 by 1.4 million in the past quarter. I exoect thesame results come Holiday season. But i dont care about that. Its the DC that makes it fun

Huh, the Wii had no issue at all with the head start 360 had. :o It must be that the PS3 is just inferior to the Wii ? :twisted:

Doesn't matter, the 360 got half the market without Japan. As I predicted from the beggining it's going to end up 50/50. Next gen it'll start out 50/50 which is more important to MS than winning or lossing by one or two million.

Why do people forget the big picture. The 360 has been a massive success and achievment for MS, in all but Japan. Actually I think MS won, in that they nulified Japan in western areas. It used to be far and away, the most important of the 3 (EU, NA and Japan).

In a way I can understand, it's easy to think xenophobia, but the gaming market is now western games for western gamers and Japanese games mostly for Japanese gamers. Graphics aren't even important to them according to Capcom. So their version of the 360 in terms of software would have to be almost a complete overhaul in theory.
