PS4 has 41% more consoles sold than Xbox One

Actually I think the 41 percent is more accurate than 28 percent......

Here is my explanation (hopefully this makes sense to you):

MS sold 3 million units right? And half of 3 million is 1.5 million which would be 50 percent if Sony has sold 1.5 million more units (but they didn't they sold 1.2 million more) . This part everyone can agree with im sure (pretty simple).

So 1.5 million= 50 percent, Lets divide 1.5 million by 4. 1.5m/ 4= 375000. And since 375000 is a quarter of 1.5 million lets divide 50 percent into quarters which is 12.5 percent, so 375000= 12.5 percent

So lets look at this further and add 375000+375000+375000=1125000. Now remember each 375000 accounts for 12.5 percent (12.5 percent x 3= 37.5 percent)

Or you could divide 375000 into 1.5 million which equals 3.2 (remember each 375000 equals 12.5 percent which there are 3 of and 0.2 remaining)

3 x 12.5= 37.5 percent

0.2 x 12.5 = 2.5 percent

37.5 +2.5= 40 percent

So there is your answer Sony has sold 40 percent more units than MS (thread creator was only off by 1). I think someone owes TC an apology lol (Isn't math fun?)

I went into Sams Club earlier and saw a huge stack of Xbox One systems. No PS4. It was the same thing yesterday at Gamestop and Best Buy. Its rather sad that I can't even find a PS4 but Xbox just sits there next to the Wii U.

Percent does not matter until the numbers are bigger. if they both sold over 20 mill then that would matter.

True, but when you're doing %'s,. the largest amount you are taking the difference from is the whole. I guess these kiddies on here have never done Pie Chart percentages in their lives. It's very simple math.

If the whole pie is 4,200,000 (100%) and you take away a slice of 3,000,000 (71.5%), you're left with small slice of 1,200,000 (28.5%). It doesn't get much easier then that. I knew there were uneducated kids on here, but I didn't realize it was this bad.

It's 1,200,000 divided by 4,200,000 = 28.5%. Not sure why idiots are taking the % off of 3 million. That's not how you figure out the % difference when 4.2 million is 100%. The PS4 sold 28.5% more units. It's that simple. There's really no surprise with the cost, hype and being launched is 29 more countries. Now we have to wait for the games.

PS4 sold 1.2 million more right? IF they had sold 1.5 million more that would be 50 percent (cuz half of 3 million is 1.5 million). Half of 1.5 million is 750,000 which would be 25 percent. So basically your saying that 450,000 (1.2 million - 750,0000=450,000) units accounts for 3.5 percent? LOL

40 percent of 3 million = 1,200,000

Sony sold 4.2 million, MS sold 3 million
