Depends were they are actually at by the end of this year. If they are under 35 million I doubt it unless next year is a massive improvement, but over it's more likely. I expect 45-49 million by november of next year and between 50-54 million by the end of next year.

That kind of growth isn't feasible, not even remotely. You guys don't seem to understand exhaustion of the core market, most of the core market has already made their purchases, they have purchased their consoles. Most of the sales after this holiday will be made by what you could call casual purchasers, people who don't care as much but just want to get a new console, they could get it this year or the next, it's not a priority. Console sales spike hard in the beginning, they taper off, they get a second wind for a year or so which is about to spike during these upcoming holidays then they taper off more permanently with gradual sales growth over the life of the system.

35-38 million is feasible by the end of next year, 50-54 million is a pipe dream.

That's impressive. The only other home consoles that sold more in the first 2 years were the Wii and PS2.

The ps4 sold over 4 million last year in a like a month or two if I recall. It's going to break 30 million this year and possibly 50million next year and if it doesn't break 50 million next year it will do it by march 2017. I may be overestimating a tiny bit now that I think about it, because the ps4 sold 14 or 15 million last year if I recall which made it jump to about 18 million sold a year after it launched, Also, It's probably going to sell slightly better this year than last year and total PS4 sales will reach anywere between 31-34 million by by the end of the year. Now the big question is next year. Will it explode next year and sell 20 million next year making 50 million a bit more possible by the end of the next year or will sell slightly better than this year or sell a lot better than this year, but not enough to break the 50 million mark by the end of next year.

Sony sold more than 4 million PS4 last Holiday. Now is almost 30 million shipped by the end of September WITHOUT price drop. 33+ million by end of the 2015 is piece of cake.

Sony forecast was 35 M by end march 2016, i think this goal will be reached by miles no doubt. Great achievement indeed.

This is a Wii 2.0. Why was Wii selling so well? Because it had zero competition in what it did well (waggle). Same thing with the PS4, there's simply no competition in what its doing (visuals, games and all around quality). If the Bone offered the same kind of performance as the 360 did compared to the PS3, the PS4 wouldn't be tbagging Xbone as much as its currently doing.

PS4 is selling this way because the natural order has been restored. PlayStation has dominated every generation since the PS1 but the last one. Xbox has almost no market presence outside of the US and now that they are splitting the US with Sony it's not even contest. The only way Xbox can compete is by keeping a stranglehold on the U.S. and they lost it.

No, PS4 is selling this way because it ia the product thqt most appeals to the market that it is targeting, and has almost no competition for that market, just like silversix said. Sony made a great console, now they are seeing great sales for it. Microsoft and Nintendo made relatively undesirable products, and those ones bombed.

I'm not going to going to attribute all of PS4's success to failure of their competitors. Yes that made it easier, but PS has dominated before without those advantages. It is simply the more desirable brand and has been for most its life. 3 out of 4 generations and you kinda have accept that people just like PlayStation better.
