Hey @tormentos, check out these two statements from a thread made 7 months ago ("Do you think the PS4 will sell 40 million by 2016?):
It's garbage. Once the casuals get it out of their system they don't need COD anymore, it will bottom out at 30 million once they go back to playing on their phones.
Not that I agree with exactly what you're saying, but I do believe the PlayStation 4 sales are a bubble, and we all know what happens with those. I don't see it selling more than 28 million units by the end of 2015, what I do see happening though is Microsoft catching up, revealing real sales data and then surpassing Sony. As of right now and especially with the delay of Uncharted 4, Microsoft is going to have a much better year game wise than Sony, much better, plus what they still have not shown at E3. Then to top this off all of the integration with Windows 10 will be happening, DirectX 12 etc. Microsoft has a lot of exciting things to offer people this year, a lot, and consumers are not overlooking it.
You said you wanted to save that thread to laugh at later on. Have at them, lol
Personally, I was wrong about the 40 million units sold by the end of 2015 (I did say it was going to be a challenge). I can see it being around 35-36 million now.
But Sony did revise their target and aimed even higher thanks to these favorable numbers, so their estimate of hitting 40 million in the first half of 2016 is going to be very easy.
From GAF, here are the sales results after 8 quarters:
That's the 8th quarter with PS4 results. Others sales at the end of 8th quarter.
Wii- 34.55m
PS4- 29.30m
PS2- 24.99m
PS3- 16.60m
360- 13.40m
Oh my god did Nya actually say that?
This guy is beyond delusional, Xbox catching up? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
