Tbh I do am interested in the console. The price is bit more than what I expected at $649 so I am waiting for reviews before jumping in. I have a sizable PS4/PS5 physical discs so I may have to purchase the addon drive to play them.

The craziest part of this whole discourse re: the disc drive is that digital download is the standard method of consuming games. Like how can folks say they want a disc drive and yet only 30% of new games sold on PS4 and PS5 are physical copies.
Taking away features is never great but lets be real, you don't use it. It's seriously unusual seeing people pile onto that criticism.
How many PS5 owners own physical copies of games for both PS4 and PS5... I'd argue atleast over 90% of Playstation owners at least have 1 physical game. without the disk drive your physical library is useless, those gamers that own a physical copy of a game they already own are going to want that disc drive.. and at $700 already without the disk drive this jank is $800.

Ex. The PS6 will more than likely support your digital library from the PS4 + PS5 era. That's potentially like 15 years of content at your disposal. That's more than the entire PS1 + PS2 generation. The PS6 will be more backwards compatible than the OG PS3. lol

You listed an old no longer in production GPU (that's a good deal stronger than the PS5 pro GPU), I corrected you with a far more modern and capable GPU that can be had for cheaper. You made an irrelevant and uneducated point, as usual.
That depends on the province. In Alberta and the territories you can subtract about 100 from that total. In the maritimes the console costs like $1265 if you include the drive and stand.

All of the games they showed running at 60fps.............already had 60fps modes. It just gave you more resolution..............but not real resolution.
Not a great selling point in my case.
PlayStation porting all their biggest AAAA games to PC so you can play them at unlimited resolution at unlimited framerates, then a year later backporting some of those upgrades to PS5 Pro for $1350 is so funny. Buddy if I gave that much of a **** about resolution I'd play on PC.

Sony keeps the optical drive around for now because they are getting royalties from each Blu-ray disc sold. But they want that 30% that retail stores get for the sale of physical games. I could see them moving to physical games only sold at PlayStation Direct at some point, and then discontinue physical games. That is the direction they are taking us sadly.

The PS5 Pro's actual cost, to match the feature set of the PS5, is $800.
