So does the free/standard PSN. A new batch of goes on sale every week, hell half the time it's probably the same games going on sale on PSN as on live. The PSN+ discounts are even better than standard discounts, and of course PSN+ has free games.

The latest posts in that thread are talking about "compatibility packs" and demos. LMAO. That stuff is free for regular PSN users. I don't even see any mention of any actual games. The best thing I see for "free" to Live users is some TV episodes.

With gold you don't even get to rent the games. You get NOTHING. You get a Dorito game and that's it.

Generally when I pay somebody money, I want something in return. I don't want to give them my money in order to play a game I already paid for, and then throw advertising in my face which just adds further insult to injury.

They're paying to play online obviously. Some of them only own a 360 and have no other choice, some of them because of their friends, some of them for Halo and Gears MP, etc.

No. My observation is on more than one week. This week is not typical for PSN+, however it's typical of Xbox Live to offer gamers no value whatsoever. They do have sales, but like i said it's nothing amazing and generally is pretty much the same as the sales on the regular PSN. Sometimes it literally is the exact same deals - just at different times (i.e. 50% capcom sale, or 50% square-enix sale). But PSN+ gives you that 50%, and throws in another 20% or 30% on top.

I don't even think PSN+ is anywhere near the best anyway. Steam to me is the best overall, because you can get quite a bit for $50 during their sales, and you get to keep what you pay for there. Really, it's just XBOX Live gold where you pay that money and it just disappears into Microsoft's bank accounts with no perceived benefit...it's the only one that seems to bring nothing to to the table.

I would rather pay for PS+ then Gold. One is optional and gives me tons of content worth more then the subscription, the other is trying to extort money from me by locking out my ability to play online.

I've gotten some freebies on other services (free Mass Effect on Origin, bargains on GoG, lots of absurdly discounted games on Steam).
