It's not free if you're paying a monthly scubscription.

^Topic should have ended with this post.

Cows are delusional. Renting "free" games while paying a subscription to keep playing them isn't exactly free.

Seriously, these guys have a funny idea of what is free and what is not. Someone said it earlier, try downloading some of these "free" games, then cancel your Plus sub. Try to play them.

As I said earlier some, actually most of them you can keep. The only ones that you can't continue to play are listed in the "subscriptions" tab under "manage account" section. I have about thirty games downloaded and only a handful of them can't be played after your PS+ subscription runs out. Conveniently enough this fact keeps getting ignored. :?

Well most people in this thread don't have PS+ so they don't know these things.

It feels fantastic to play on a system that gives me both free games, and absolutely stellar discounts without me having to pay money for them.

Yeah, well most people don't read every page before posting. :P

Yes, but some people HAD PS+ at one point, (PSN blackout being the most common) and found out that all of the "free" stuff required you to keep paying to use them. I, and many other people actually considered renewing our subscription to PS+ before we were aware of such things.

Is it really free since you still have to pay money for the monthly subscription?

actually I had ps+ and I can confirm not a single person has posted any proof you get to keep your free games...and since I downloaded quite a few free games during my 3 month sub and not a single one worked and many other ps+ subscribers have confirmed thre haven't been any free games you kept only discounted games...

What the hell does proof mean to you? Nothing because you've accused me in the past of not owning a 360, and more recently accused me of not having "ever played online" on my 360, and both times I've proved you wrong.

I doubt that I am the first person to point this out, but it's not free if you had to pay to get it. Not that Live is any better I'll just stick with good ol fashioned PSN.

To be honest i haven't let my PS+ run out so i have no idea.

but on the whole"you lose them when your sub runs out" arguement people keep bringing up. Sure you can't play them but they are still there, but why get rid of the sub when there is always new content. It's not like you sub and get a few games and then have to keep the sub just to play those games and then nothing new comes along, theres new stuff coming up all the time. I'm fine with paying for it myself because i get my money's worth out of it e.g. I bought Mafia II the other day for $15AU when it was $30 for non PS+, got FFV which i wanted also. so that saved me around $25AU which is more then the monthly sub.

I originally subbed to it when RE4+CV came out and our $30 AU each on the store, PS+ had them for $15 each, so i subbed to PS+ and saved $30 on them. Sub was about $22 for 3 months so i only saved $8 on that purchase there but then everything for 3 months after was just extra gravy.

But, but, does it have party chat?

All jokes aside, PSN+ sounds like a good service that warrants the price of admission.

If your paying a yearly fee, its not free. Its a great bargain but you wouldn't these games without the subscription fee, so logically, its not free.

Not free but more like a coupon book. $50 at front for over $1000 worth of content.

To be fair, you need to be a member to keep those free things but yeah, whilst your a PSN+ member you do get a lot of free stuff.

If it were actually free, you would be able to get the content without having to pay $50 to Sony per year.

Oh, and you'd actually be able to keep said content forever, rather than it becoming unusable when your subscription expires.
