I just played it briefly on XB1, and it looks amazing... forget about what all these "experts" & dumb fanboys say, it looks great. And plays great.
Can't wait to play more when I get home from work.

The real story in this thread is the CBS/Sony conspiracy and you people lack the basic perception skills to see it ...
If you're satisfied with the games media being hijacked by a foreign corporation ... and having the Sony Agenda forced down your throats then you're beyond help.
I personally am not going to stand for it.
Wait were you not joking?
No he was not.

Awesome to see the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Metacritic, 61 total now. A risky project that could have turned out so much worse, I'm stoked to play the game later and hopefully I will enjoy it as well!
And yet still at 78... Even when most of the new reviews being 90+...

Actually Metacritic is wrong in the avg score (they might haven't updated it yet but w/e), assuming my napkin math isn't fubard but it should be a avg of 79, not an avg of 78.

Dude we've been saying this for the longest...
@blessedbyhorus: the only stuff I saw about it is saying the score is off, I haven't seen a post (only went back 1 page) doing the math to prove that indeed the avg is off. It would be like saying someone saw Jennifer Lawrence nude w/o proof XD

Just went back 3 pages and no, no one did any sort of math to find the average (conspiracy theories =/= math), the closes comment I could find was Blackaces
"75% of the scores were 70 or higher. Easily more positive reviews then 60 or below reviews. Don't need to cherry pick, it's pretty obvious. The game didn't score in the 60's like The Order 1886 or FlopClub because those games actually did have more scores 60 or lower. If Uncharted 4 scores anything under a 9.0 it will be a flop as well. Cows are hoping and praying for Bloodborne type reviews I'm sure."
which is not even close to finding the average of something, in case Quantum Break.
@Ballroompirate: metacritic doesn't do straight averages
That's dumb as hell lol

Can confirm that they did the same math, I forget how long ago that was though
@Ballroompirate:
You didn't go far back enough...
Then be my guest and find the post, cause I went back as far as 1 day and 17 hours and didn't find any post doing any sort of math to find the average.
@lostrib: Both are ridiculous. Maybe this one because you would think he would not repeat such an embarrassment.
@Ballroompirate: here you go
Because some sites give the game overly low scores (giantbomb and time 4/10, gamespot , examiner, telegraph and 1 other 6/10 , out of 72 critics) the score has been dragged down.
It has been dragged down more than it seems because sites like gamespot carry more weight in the scoring system of metacritic. It's quite obvious when you calculate the averages yourself. Then the score is not 78 but 80. The average score on gamerankings is also 80.
80 percent is not a flop, especially with those bogus reviews, hype or no hype
Besides let's see how the user review score is for quantum break and for uncharted as well, because quantum break is more of a competitor to uncharted. The last of us is quite some time ago.
6/10 max. This looks incredibly uninspiring and generic.
You could try to make your bovine bias a bit less obvious.
that backfired lol

Not at all actually, he didn't say that because he was projecting that, he said that because he's a fanboy.
He could have been aware the game would be a game of the year contender even before review releases and he would have still said that.
So next flop: Scalebound?
Gears 4. SB got delayed to 2017.
Is Gears 4 really the next "exclusive" for MS this year? I though there were more?
No they also got Recore(which I hope is good), Sea of Thieves and Crackdown 3.
Sea of Thieves is a free to play MMO,
Link?

You do realize that's not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about doing the math to prove (like what I did even though it was pretty half assed) to show the avg was wrong. A 79.2% does not round up to 80%, it would actually just round down to 79%. The only way it would round up to 80% is if Metacritic was a .1 scaling system out of 10, like a 7.8 would just be round up to an 8 so QB and other games that score a 78 or 79 would be a 8/10 or a 80/100, but Metacritic doesn't do this or if they are trying to do it they are failing at it pretty hardcore.
As for QB being a "flop", I don't care I'm dling it as we speak cause the game looks dope as hell. I'm just here to prove the avg rating of QB was not correct.

Metacritic isn't a strict average, certain websites carry more weight to the overall average of the review. It's why the Metacritic average and open critic average are different.

@jg4xchamp: Is there any proof of that though
http://www.metacritic.com/about-metascores
Metascore is a weighted average in that we assign more importance, or weight, to some critics and publications than others, based on their quality and overall stature. In addition, for music and movies, we also normalize the resulting scores (akin to "grading on a curve" in college), which prevents scores from clumping together.
I know many people are going to call me "butt hurt" or that im damage controlling and blah blah blah... But I'm surprised MC has not updated the score. The game now has 59 postive reviews(14 mixed and 3 negative) with 3 recent good reviews from the 3th and 4th that are actually in the 90s....
http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/quantum-break/critic-reviews
metacritic is a joke. the only opinion that counts is your own.
Exactly. And having now played the first act, watched the episode I am enjoying it. Its definitely a Remedy game and that's good to me. I am enjoying combat as well. Much more refreshing than hiding/running to new cover and just popping up and shooting. I enjoy that with my Gears and Uncharted fix. Running around choosing when to use which power is fun. Don't know what the entire experience will be but its a fun start.

That's a crappy average system then lol, specially if they have 3 different categories for those "top" sites like most clicked, most active and publication if that's how they do it. Each top site/publication could change on a monthly or even weekly basis, like one month Gamespot could have a slow month(s) and a random site could have a high hit month and replace Gamespot. I mean you can even factor in say for example a Sony publication site could easily "bump" their site with fake hits.
I might be going too much into it but averaging the avg of a score should be simple like if a LoZ game scores a 7,7,8,8,8,9,9,9 which would be an average of 8.1 or 8 if you want to round it.

I agree. If the sites are worthy enough to be mentioned on Meta then their scores should have equality. Might as well just limit the score to the sites the deem worthy most and not factor in the rest then.

You numb nuts might want to play the game before you get carried away, I don't care about your vitriol, you're bad mouthing a really good game that you'd likely enjoy.
No amount of bullshit fanboyism is worth missing out on a good gaming experience.
Watching this movie on twitch is hilarious especially the comments section
its JACK this and JACK that not to mention half of the people thought they were on netflx twitch streams for quantum break are gold

But then again you have probably quit gaming now, i know if i had spent 1500 hours in destiny i would have probably been bored to death.
You deserve a day of remebrence and a worldwide fucking minutes silence for that shit
At least in Destiny im actually playing a video game.. not watching a movie looool
