This is why I hate cows. A 78 metacritic is phenomenal for movies and films. Movies are held to a higher standard than games. Stop with the fanboyism.

Fair point. I'm reminded of a review of Batman v Superman in which the reviewer couldn't understand how Wayne's building, which he believed to be in Gotham, was destroyed by the fight at end of man of steel in metropolis. After seeing the movie I was like, "am I a genius or something?" Seemed pretty obvious to follow to me. Alas this score and review gave me a great wake up laugh. I'll see for myself Tuesday.

This is even more pathetic as reviews are what has being use for generation to measure quality on platforms,you can question the review all you want is there is not going away,and will mark that game period.

Without score saying so can you claim The Order sucks.? Do you think Halo would have being critically acclaim if it scored a 6 back on 2001.?

Sure there are poorly objective reviewers,bad ones,lazy ones,but there is also good ones,not saying this because of this game,and when halo 5 scored 8 i didn't flame it or even make a parade like other cows did downplaying it as a flop,all the contrary i got piss that something broken like AC was able to score higher.

But is reviewers then ones who mark those games.

Damn...Remedy messed up big time. How did they go from B+ to a C- what happened? I'm still going to get game, but again I'm still shocked.

To an extent sure, however under no circumstance is it ever an actual objective metric of a game's quality. Critics in better mediums, with actual good critics didn't truly grasp how special Blade Runner was, nowadays, that movie is a stone cold classic.

Likewise, The Order sucks not because it has reviews that outline why it sucks, but because I've played the game and can more than articulate why I think it sucks. Same way Halo being critically acclaimed, shouldn't absolve of it some of its short comings like the flood, the shitty level design, the sequels taking the story too seriously, the part where it was PC FPS dumbed down for a gamepad (albeit a well made one). Now gaming as a medium isn't quite good enough that I can realistically say games I've enjoyed have ever truly went below 70 on metacritic, hell God Hand is probably the lowest, but 70 should be a good score on a real scale. It is that way in other mediums, because simply put those critics do a better job of being well critics, and a 78 while "disappointing" in the context that "greatness" was expected from it, isn't exactly a bad score or one that would suddenly make the game less enjoyable.

Reviewers and metacritic got all this power, by virtue of gamers being paste-swilling dip shits who give way too much of a shit about a review score. Slightly reasonable given that it's a more expensive hobby? Sure, any less silly for giving a string of opinions that much power? Nah.

But, no continue to defend your stupidity to me under some guise that I'm damage controlling a game I'm openly mocking? And you're calling other people pathetic sunshine? Get a clue.

Max Payne 1 to Max Payne 2 is like Halo 1 to Halo 2.

This game has being hype by every single lemming for 3 years now and the game scored mixed and is not even 80,that is a total flop,it didn't live up to the hype remind me of Destiny,again which is not a bad game,just to hyped.

after playing Driveclub myself i didn't think that the Scores reflected the Game, it's a brilliant arcade racer that i feel deserved an 8 out of 10 at least.

the problem is that reviewers these days spend too much time using other games as benchmarks instead of reviewing games on there own merit.

I get the feeling that Driveclub scored so low because reviewers where using forza as a benchmark which is entirely unfair as they are completely different types of games beyond the fact that you drive a car.

It's the nature of SW dude. We recently had a thread asking if GS reviews were reliable anymore. Read some of the responses in it then come back here. The old flippity (QB)FLOP lol

But like I said time and time again I don't care for the reviews, I just hope this game does well commercially which is a MUST. Again it will encourage MS to invest in more franchises instead of the typical Halos and Gears.

Hmmm , how is possible for me to always have the last laugh all the time or my crystal ball being on point like 9/10 of the time ? I even told people the issues QB might get into from the freakin demo playthrough when it was the very same demo everyone was praising as the UC4 killer.

Anyways ! 6/10 is a slap in the face for the people that told me before " GAMESPOT score >> META " and you know who you are.

Personally i will keep it real and go with 78/100 which is not that bad though i think is nowhere near to UC4 killer status.

Aljosa likes Soma, I didn't play enough of it too watered down Amnesia for me, I really dig Life is Strange. That Dragon, Cancer as well, but I chalk that one up to that story itself just being sad as shit. There is really good moment in that game where they convey a sense of hopelessness through the systems, and I just fucking broke lol.

Her Story and Undertale are neato too, but more from a surprise stand point. Also because the Her Story chick can fucking get it.

Also I think the game will do fine, I like it for the mechanics for starters, and I liked the story because it had a sense of style and was relatively well told. I always knew it was a ripoff off better Noir flicks.
