Quantum Break Hype Thread - GS Review 6.0

Well damn. Now I see why they were giving away the PC version for Xbox One preorders. I'm gonna suck it up and play both, and maybe I will like it. But man, it even got a 2/5 at Giant Bomb.

No kidding. I was surprise to see the reviews now, I thought they were gonna release them 24 hours before QB release this coming Monday. The reviews are defiantly in the mix for major gaming sites but still though, QB is still the game I want to play and early vids convince me that I won't be disappointed. Looking forward to playing both Xbox One and windows 10 versions.

Oh well, this guy didn't like the game so much and I don't really care. Still one of my top 5 games to get this year and still can't wait to get my hands on the game. Tuesday can't get here soon enough.

Who knows, man. It looked better, and it turned out disappointing. Maybe the same will be true of Uncharted?

I don't really care enough for either game lol. I guess I hope Uncharted isn't this bad, because that's the one I am getting.

Max Payne 1 and 2 were stellar over a decade ago (read they are still great games frankly), since then they made a new ip that was mostly a mediocre video game that did everything possible to break the players immersion, an expansion pack that was painfully tedious design standpoint, and now Quantum Break, a game none of us played, but looks pretty I guess.

Turned out disappointing in terms of reviews, from video game reviewers who aren't even good enough to be called critics lol. Let's not get carried away.

Well, I ain't played it but it sure looks better than a 6 to me. Not just talking about the graphics but the gameplay looks interesting. I intend to check it out eventually. I was guessing this probably wouldn't do better than an 8 or so though cuz critics nowadays tend to go off on single player games if they aren't open-world in some way and a kzillion hours in length.

Sorry, my answer was solely in terms of review scores (StrongBlackVine was referring to my assertions that QB would outscore UC4).

Naturally I can't comment on the quality of the game itself.

Yeah it's funny that everyone in here saying the game is disappointing and no one played it LOL.. Once again a bunch of gamers basing their enjoyment of a video game based on the opinion of someone else LOL. All the people in here bashing the game wanted the game to fail anyways just so they can do what they are doing now...the new millennium of gamers SMH LOL.

Yes but the positive ones are mostly compose of 80 ones,in fact it gas 16 80 while it only has 11 - 90 ,and several of the positive scores are 75 and up,in fact 4 score are 75 to 76 which are also consider positive in meta.

The game was a huge flop and didn't meet the hype,who knows maybe is an April fool joke.

The last of US was a flop here and scored 80,outside it was 95% only this site Polygon which was supported financially by MS and other site that no one knew were the ones rating it low...hahaha

There is the flop you can see and say well it flop but still a good game,like Halo 5 which flopped and got 8,but a 6 flop here is no way to save that one..

Thankfully Uncharted 4 has also been confirmed as "the racer" of 2016

Want to talk about new things.? What have you played something like Flower.? Like Journey Hell i consider those 100 times more innovative than Quantum Break which is (hold to your horses) Another damn shooter on a shooter crowded market,you have to do better than simple time warping to get a good score,some of the complains sound completely legit,like finishing the story and playing again pickling other choices and the story barely changing,isn't the point of different choice that the story change.?

I call it what i was seeing wasn't good,it felt abusive power wise and it felt empty like missing something,in the end is just a bland shooter there is no more to it,it has many flaws and scored accordingly move on.

Remedy's Quantum Break possesses a level of rendering technology that is supremely impressive. This game is doing things we've not seen in a mainstream title before. John reveals all.

Haha lol, I suspect this thread will be thick :) I'm just looking at a few scores, don't feel like reading the reviews, 8 on IGN, 6 here, 78 metacritic, good enough for me if I think of my past experiences, I've been down this road before, looking forward to judging it on my own.

Demons Souls 5 rehash will get a gift of a 9 from GS as always.

Nobody here should be saying a thing in terms of favouring or dismissing it. Since nobody here has played it yet, perhaps it's best to refrain from talking out your ass, yes?

With that said, the reception isn't surprising me. Even with the time mechanic, it just never looked all that interesting.

Just want to point out a few things, regardless of what the reviews say, remember this, reviews are still an opinions to the reviewer, if you really want to play the game, just go for it, listen to your gut if you'll think the reviews was right or wrong, if you know you want to play QB, listen to your guts.

You're speaking with tools, you know exactly that he'll come up with a more political answer, but deep down it's a yes to them.

Still this is a bit shocking to see. I blame Naughty Dog because Sam lake looked up to them and tried to veer his games in that overly cinematic direction type of game. Had he did his own thing perhaps this game would have been different. I saw a Twitter post of him saying he can't wait to play UC4 to ND. Leave the cinematic gameplay to the masters Sam and stick to what you do best.

Their games were always cinematic heavy, and walked a fine line of being more dependent on narrative than their gameplay. Max Payne just happened to have bitchin shooting.

@charizard1605: This game has never looked more than mediocre. Remedy might be the most overrated developer around. They are poor man's Naughty Dog. Seriously it took them 6 years to make this short, unremarkable game?

No game is worth playing to Tormentos. He plays metacritic, pixel density and sales. In other words, he is kicking ass this gen. Games would just get in the way.
