- Best game library currently, with a good looking future
- Xbox Live, XB Live Arcade, enough said
- Best controller and GUI

Negatives:

- Game library should be better
- Lack of motion sensing I suppose
- Hardware problems (Ive experienced the 3 rings)

PS3 - 5/10

Positives:

- Blu-ray
- PSN is free
- Uhh I guess Sony is upping up their first party this gen

Negatives:

- Blu-ray
- Price
- Lack of game selection
- No rumble
- Sony losing tons of exclusives

Wii - 2/10

Positives:

- Umm Nintendo's first party?

Negatives:

- Primitive controller
- Bad hardware
- Ugly GUI
- Super Kiddy
- Lack of third party support
- Not a diverse library (no sandbox type games, no racing simulators, etc. etc.)
- Already the typical Nintendo game droughts
- Too expensive
- Not only is it expensive but it has tons of hidden costs
- Virtual Console games have no online or leaderboards
- Relies too heavily on PS2/PSP/GameCube ports

Wii - Great idea, opens up gaming to more people, just palin fun. Some poor hardware choices. 8/10

360 - A game console first and formost, lots of quality titles. Again, some poor hardware choices, limited varitiey in games, a bit pricey right now - 7/10

PS3 - Possible great potential. Way to exspensive, missing games,want's to be every electronic in my house. 5/10

Like em all despite their scores, and I'll enjoy a PS3 when I feel it's worth it.

Well I gave 360 a year and it still doesn't cater to my tastes, only 2 games interest me, Dead rising and GeOW plus I don't like 360's additional costs and the fact that it has a high failure rate. - 5/10

Wii, well I have never really had any interest in a Nintendo console (I used to be a Sega fan) but there are games on the Wii that intrigue me plus the controls are some what cool. - 7/10

PS3 in my opinion is awesome, it has great features but not enough games at the moment which show off its potenial plus the high price tag is a little disheartening. Quality wise PS3 is a fantastic console which is built for the long term. -7.5/10

p.s. I rating this consoles based on how they are now. I'm sure my opinions will change over time, especially on the PS3 :wink:

- best library (still not great), best online (which you have to pay for), great controller, decent price for what you get

-but poor reliability, overdependence on shooters, controller without motion sensing (we'll see if that makes a difference), decent but not best-in-class future game lineup.

PS3 6.5 (score may change drastically depending on how future games turn out)

-most powerful system, bluray, great controller (dualshock was great, so's this), free online, good future game lineup, ps2 back library, lots of untapped potential, motion sensing, very reliable, shiny

-online not as good as live, weak current library, no rumble, expensive

Wii 4.5

-fun in short bursts, cheap, good family gaming

-bad online, games and hardware, no HD, controller scheme limited

360 = 8/10

Good online, games, but kinda pricey. Still a well-established console with great games on the horizon.

-Micro-transactions add up -Highest failure rate of current consoles -MS has poor customer support (IMO) as they are little help when a console breaks and there was incidences in the past of customer support people giving out credit card numbers (accidental but still a problem)

PS3 5/10

Positives

-Free online that could rival Xbox's when home comes out -Good looking line-up -Blue-ray -Great graphics and processing power

Negatives

-Poor controller (no rumble and feels awkward to me because of the dual shoulder buttons on both sides) -Blue-ray -Current library needs to improve but this is a temporary problem -Lowest console sales, which could cause 3rd party devs to abandon ship (we'll have to wait and see) -Expensive

Wii 6/10

Positives

-Fastest selling (3rd party devs want the biggest market available) -Revolutionary controller (personally my favourite controller of the 3) -Best first part dev around -IMO the best looking line-up -Caters to every crowd -Cheapest

Negatives

-Weakest hardware (graphics+processing power suffer) -Current games need to improve (again temporary) -Online is currently a problem but I have faith that Nintendo will impress us

I'd just like to let everyone know that this is my personal opinion and if you'd like to argue the points intelligently I'll listen to your opinions as I'm not a close-minded fanboy.;)

360: 8.5/10. It has everything I really want in a console. HD gaming, superb online service, and a great, and ever growing library of games. I took off one point for hardware issues, and half a point for having to pay for XBL.

PS3: 8.0/10. It's by far the most advanced piece of hardware in my house. It's an all around HD entertainment center, has some great games (though not enough of them at the moment) and it's totally reliable. I took off one point for having a slow start in the games department, and another point for the PS store being a bit bare at the moment.

console itself - 7/10: great graphics, controller, and online service, but breackdown far too often

current games - 8/10: undeniably the best lineup of the 3 right now with Gears of War, Oblivion, RB6: Vegas, Forza 2, DOA4, PGR3, and more with generally the best console version of multiplats except for Wii Madden

future games - 8/10: a lot of promising titles like Bioshock, Halo 3, The Darkness, Overlord, Mass Effect, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, etc.

PS3: overall 6.5/10

console itself - 8/10: great graphics, and blu-ray only issue right now is price

current games - 4/10: Oblivion, Resistance, Motorstorm, and Virtua Fighter 5 are the only worth mentioning titles, needs some more worthwhile games soon

future games - 7/10: Uncharted, LBP, MGS4, and FFXIII look amazing, but I don't see as much that looks awesome as the 360 has coming

Wii: overall: 6/10

console itself - 6/10: the controller is very cool and the console has some interesting features like Miis and VC, but no online games at this point is inexcusable and the graphics are not up to the same level as the competition

current games - 5.5/10: Zelda, Wii Sports, Madden, Monkey Ball, Trauma Center, and Paper Mario. The VC games give it the slight advantage over PS3 right now, but still dissapointing so far

future games - 6.5/10: Nintendo as usual is bringing some very promising games with SSBB, Metroid Prime 3, and Mario Galaxy, but the 3rd parties overall don't have much that looks promising

Yup I regret buying a Wii too... I haven't played it since April literally too.

X360 8.0: While it has a great list of games,its technical problems drag it down.

PS3 6.0: Has good upcoming games, but it too expensive and it need more good games now.

Wii 8.5: Has good games out and upcoming, easy to pick up a play, cheap, but kinda weak hardware and bad online at this point.

Has a decent library but multiplats are usually better on the Xbox 360 with added DL content. Price is high, controller is inferior to Xbox 360, and PSN still needs work

Wii - 4

Needs games period. I'm not interested in mini-games or party games. Besides Zelda (which is also a GC game), there's not much to find on the Wii. Controller seems like a great idea, but it has yet to who itself to worth it IMO.

I don't own any but this would be my scores judging from game lineup/value for money etc...

PS3 - 5/10: Too expensive, and not many great games yet but if there is a price drop before Christmas I'd give it 8/10 at least since it has what I think is the best lineup for the holiday season.

360 - 6/10: Bad hardware, some good games though. MS need to keep it up in 2008, I don't know if they will though.

Wii - 5/10: Needs more games right now, and needs a better lineup. Less spinoffs and more main entries in big franchises.

I find it surprising how fair these scores are.

Anyway, from what I've seen:

360: 8

Has a lot of great games, great line-up, and apparently great online service, and the controller is great. (I played one for an hour at my cousin's house, so I don't know everything about it, but this is from what I've seen on this website and from playing).

PS3: 7.5

Has some great games for it, I had a blast with it, free online service, future line-up looks great, controller is familiar. I played it for a day at my friend's house. Lots of fun. Still don't know everything, though (see Xbox 360).

Wii: 6

I myself am not really excited about any of the games for it, or many of the games coming out (probably 2). From what I hear, the online isn't the greatest, and is brought down by friend codes. Graphics are bad, which allow limited ports to it from the other consoles. I haven't played one yet, but will be on Tuesday at a graduation party (probably). Again, from things I heard.

I can't make these the fairest, so I mostly incorporated games the systems has out now that I am intersted it (60% of score) and games coming for it I'm interested in (the other percentage).

360 - 8/10 so many games. no personal hardware problems. rogers ads on the ****ing console dashboard is too much

Wii - 6/10 fun in groups, 60% of my games so far are mini-game collections.

ps3 - 3/10. the games? resistance is generic. motorstorm? its like they looked at smugglers run from the ps2 launch and thought "hey, lets take everything fun out of it". anything good i have to say about the ps3 is trumped by the lack of games.
