Awesome game worthy of a 9. Ocarina of Time is a 10 ;)

Beat me to it, but maybe, i would give RDR an 8.5
nope. I couldn't even finish the game. It was a good game but not as good as any of the GTA games.
Nonstop-Madness
If you stopped in Mexico that is why :P. Mexico SUCKS lol. The beginning and end are awesome, but the middle part (mexico) does get old fast.
In terms of what? RDR is more playable and has better character control and atmosphere. Both are overly repetitive though.Awesome game worthy of a 9. Ocarina of Time is a 10 ;)

This guy has good tasteIt was alright but not nearly as great as I though. And yeah,it´s better than Ocarina, but then again, most games are. ;)

Says who? You mean to tell me the same atmosphere over and over again until the end is better than one of the most fun and diverse worlds in gaming? I don't think so, but obviously to each their own.
I think it's a fantastic open-world game, I don't think I'd call it a masterpiece but it's a game that I really enjoyed.fabz_95Yes this. As far as open world games go, it is fantastic. But as a game... it's good.

Yes, my favorite game this gen and all-time(until GTA V comes out)...
Everything about it is great and I'm going to replay the INCREDIBLE story again(so I can get that achievement where you use the same horse)...
For a fan of classic western films (John Ford flicks, Segio Leone spaghetti westerns, Unforgiven by Eastwood, etc.) the game is nearly perfect. There are some things I would like to made better should we ever get a sequel, but not much. I loved the atmosphere, the gameplay was exciting, and it was just an incredible feeling to be able to explore such a vibrant western setting. So yes, I agree, it is a masterpiece, or at the least, close to one.
Honestly, if you love western films, I can't see how you can't at least appreciate the game.
TC, I disagree, and not because I disagree with you all the time. I found the game to be too short, I didn't like the story (except for the ending) and freeraoming wasn't that much fun. The shooting is very fun though, but that's about it, and some of the missions had no shooting so yeah. RDR is worth the 8 I gave it and nothing else.
It was a good game. But I don't think it's something I would play twice. The old R* formula is getting a little too stale for me.
Plus, there isn't anything worth doing outside of the missions.

thank you so much for saying this. That is exactly what I was thinking.

Zelda doesn't have a repeptive atmosphere? Fun is subjective, and Diverse? I agree we all have opinions but the atmosphere is repeptive in both. Maybe not to the same extent.[QUOTE="NaveedLife"][QUOTE="Captainqwark10"] In terms of what? RDR is more playable and has better character control and atmosphere. I agree with this! I actually also did the opposite and watched "the Wild Bunch" for the first time after I completed the game. Was an unusual experience :). RDR has taken tons from that fantastic movie. Btw what movie is the first one in ur sig? I've watched the other four (Rosemary, Kwai, Seventh Seal, Clockwork Orange), but don't recognize that one.For a fan of classic western films (John Ford flicks, Segio Leone spaghetti westerns, Unforgiven by Eastwood, etc.) the game is nearly perfect. This.
HOw is Ocarina of Time's world repetitive. I am a stickler for interesting and diverse environments, and OoT nailed it. Every place looks unique and each have their own feel. Even if its a grassy field to a lake surrounded by grass there is a huge difference. I honestly do no know how anyone could say OoT has repetitive environments.
I got bored fairly quick. The story didn't interest me, most of the missions were uninteresting (and mostly followed the same formula), and the mini-games weren't that good, imo. I wanted to like it because I'm a huge fan of western films (Unforgiven, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and For a Few Dollars More), but I couldn't get into it.

They can't without sounding like they have no idea what they're talking about.
Also, when was atmosphere such a huge factor in any genre other than horror? Honestly? I keep hearing how RDR had a great atmoshpere (even though it wasn't that great).

Our definitions of Atmosphere must be different or we are thinking of different words because the whole OoT games had areas that looked like I had seen it before. I will add this only implies to areas outside most vilages. However, that is where you spend the majority of the game.Yeah, sure.
A repetitious, boring, filler-stuffed "masterpiece" that takes a handful of content and recycles it out four or five times over, like a dollop of raspberry jam spread over an immense, barren slice of toast, so scarce of flavor that each bite is more of a chore than the last.
The game sucks, and it sucks all the more in comparison with OoT, which is actually quite good.

Because outside of every dungeon is a new area. But whatever.
I'll re ask my question; when did atmosphere become so important in non horror games?

But not as good as System Shock 2! :o :PMan, i forgot the 2, damn, damn, well played sir.
Atmosphere is obv important in action adventure games and RPGs. I don't think that's something new.So soyu're complaining about how the hub part of Hyrule never changed? Because outside of every dungeon is a new area. But whatever.
