@SolidGame_basic: Very good watch.
Is there a single person on the whole of SW who paid $70 for this game?🤭
I think Kvalleyx said he was going to pay $70 for it. If it wasn't him, I know there was at least 1 xbox guy who usually pays for their games but whoever it was may have fell back on that idea.
I buy my games, yup.
I started the game this morning before work. When looking at this game from the perspective of a AAA high quality campaign game like Halo Infinite or Gears of War, it clearly doesn't hold up visually. It doesn't hold up with voice overs. Art style is making the game appear as though it has been in development since the debut of the Xbox One, intended for the Xbox One.
I have only cleared out the Fire Station and started my trek east down the street from the Fire Station to go find the downed helicopters. During that time, the only issue I have had related to graphics, is the occasional shimmering. I saw some in that wave that was stopped for example. I had no issues with frames, and everything I had done was solid. I used the light arc on two vampires at the same time, as they were coming at me, then took shotgun shots to their faces while they were stuck, got their health down fast, R3'd them with the stake and made them my bitch. Not a blip.
Menu is easy to use. I love that the available skill points are noted next to your health. Most games I play, I need to find my available skill points by going into the menu. I would love to see more games add this. Or I just never played games that had this shown on the HUD.
Loot is plentiful, health packs seem to be frequent enough. Though regarding loot, I wish I could press/hold down on a button to scan an area so that I can see highlight loot easier. Sometimes I really don't notice the highlight around loot items, like pieces of paper.
I changed my controller sensitivity to the recommended settings that some people have found improvements with, so I never even got a chance to see how it was default. But it seems fine, but I still need to get used to it having just come off of playing Burning Shores, the sensitivity is still way different.
Control setup is great, HUD is great, shooting and the other weapons and items that you can use to attack are all VERY satisfying. I absolutely love the shooting aspect. It kind of reminds me of the satisfaction I get in Borderlands. It's obviously very early, but I don't get a Far Cry feel from the game yet.
I "think" I will like the game. It is by no means a 2 or 4 based on this initial impression. I look forward to exploring more. I could see how this might be fun co-op, but I don't know if I will ever try it.
You playing on PC or Xbox Series X?
@adrian1480: what hard earned money? It’s “free on gamepass” or at least that’s what the lems tell me
@Pedro: not far. Still looking for the downed helicopters but I was killed and it took me all the way back to the fire station. So I was done for now. We are off to the Bahamas for 10 days.
Played some of it and yeah the AI seems pretty wonky. Not really into the art style. Have only played up until after you stake your first vampire in the Fire Station and rescue the hostages. Was feeling some motion sickness so stopped playing. Need to play a bit more though to get a better overall feeling but so far can’t see myself enjoying this game much.
@Pedro: Hmm, interesting. I haven’t played FarCry 5 yet although have meaning to give it a try. Haven’t encountered any noticeable bugs although my time has been brief.
@Archangel3371: If you liked Far Cry 5, this game is closer to it with consistently bad AI but more "meaningful" exploration. The bugs can be rare to frequent. It is a toss of the dice.
You’re only spending time playing this garbage game because it’s an MS title. Admit it already.

I love it when folks care about what I play but I don't care what they do.😂

Far Cry 5 is a hit or miss for gamers. It seems like a love hate type of game.
I just played about 5 hours of Redfall. It has issues, but I think a 4/10 is overly harsh.
It's still a flop, but it's still kinda fun.
I'd give it a 6/10.
You're in denial, bro. That's what LA does to people that live there. An incredibly pathetic game.
@hardwenzen: I live in the Chicago area, not LA.
I didn't say it's an 8/10 or higher. It's just not as bad as a 4/10. I've had some fun with it... and isn't that the point of video games?
Chicago or LA, its all a big shithole, bro.
If you had fun with this, you are capable of having fun with everything that's on the market. 4/10 Redfall is equally as bad as Crime Boss: Rockay City
@hardwenzen: chicago is as naf as LA, we just don't care if you use AC or have a gas stove.
Still, Redfall is not good. It has axton of bugs and a lot of missing features (you can't save?!?!?!!!). But, it's not Big Rigs bad.
Forget bugs and missing features. The whole game design is worse than your average kickstarter trash that comes out on steam with zero marketing budget.
@hardwenzen: it does have a lot of fundamental issues, that's why I said it's not good.
It's just not 4/10 bad.
It is. The game is worse than Fallout 76 at launch, and that was as 4/10 as they come.
Even at launch it never cought up to Borderlands 2 numbers, an aging game, and that is the game that Bethesda wanted Arkane to clone so desperately.
No wonder all the Ubisof games are flopping, their expertise was singleplayer games (Prince of persia, assassin's creed)
No wonder Redfall is flopping, their expertise was 0451 games
@hardwenzen: You've never played it - your just going by sensationalized youtube videos.
Are you serious? You see some dogshit in front of you. I tell you to watchout, and not walk over a pile of shit. Instead of listening, you ask me how i know that its a pile of shit, and unless i taste it, it ain't one. This is how you sound every time you quote me with your "have not played" bullshit. When it looks like a pile of shit, guess what? Its a pile of shit................
Being in denial won't help. Your first $70 title will be remembered as the top 3 biggest failures of this generation.
@hardwenzen: Did I say it wasn't a failure? Did I say it should have scored an 8/10? No.
All i am saying is that while a flop, it's closer to 6/10.
You've never played it, your opinion is relatively worthless.
Its a pile of shit. Stop playing around it, and see it for what it is. Your "play it before you can have an opinion about X game" is not working. A pile is a pile. That is all.
Its not a 5/10. Its not a 6/10 (Infinite is, tho). Its a dumpster fire 4/10. A 4/10 in 30fps for $70. Let that sink in.
Was gonna post this lol. MS is such a failure, and it all began with the very first gameplay shown of Infinite.🤣🤣🤣Thank you for delivering, MS.

Mock reviews are very disturbing!!

What is a "mock" review?

What is a "mock" review?
Xbox internally does a mock 'review' to guess what score the game will get.
Video game publishers typically invite consultants to review a near-final build of the game to set expectations internally on how it will be scored. Additionally, consultants are often employed throughout a game's development to provide an external perspective on its progress, with early impressions helping identify and correct issues as they arise. The fact Microsoft expected much better from Redfall reviews has raised eyebrows, including from those who are part of the video game consultancy process. "It's certainly very strange," video game consultant Nathan Brown, author of the Hit Points newsletter, told Eurogamer. "While mock reviewers will typically overlook bugs, or minor technical or performance issues - you know the game is still being worked on, and can assume in good faith they're being fixed - those are not the reason Redfall has reviewed so poorly. "The emptiness of the world, the enemy AI, the storytelling: all of those would have been obvious while the game was in development and should have been called out. If we are to take Phil Spencer at his word, clearly Microsoft needs some new mock reviewers."Link

The fact that the mock review was in the 70's, and they thought this was OK just proves to me that THIS is the GP standard. 7/10 shovelware is your "game for gamepass" games for ya.

yea I found that funny too that Phil is ok with games in the 60s. If you wan to compete with Sony and Nintendo, it should be 9 and above!!
