Regarding this whole "game made for game pass" nonsense, gaas pre exist GP, and everyone is chasing that golden goose. Remember Destruction Allstars trying to bank on "modern" trends? A Sony exclusive that ranks a 62 in MC, was that a Gamepass game? What about the ton of other failed attempts at gaas from AAA to independent stuff, is that Gamepass fault too?

I get a few people here will just shit on everything and eat it because that's all they aspire to but many seem to just be following a narrative without actually making the effort to think about what they're saying.

But personally I'm still expecting this game to improve massively. Unlike Sony and square who abandon games and break up studios when a game flops, arkane will support this game for a while. And so will the millions of gamepass users. This game will get massive updates and improvements.

You clearly didn’t get the memo. This game was poked at by lems eventually “when the gameplay presentation debuted”, but back in 2022 this was one of the most hyped exclusives from lems coming to Xbox.

I’m not trashing GP in any way shape or form and if it seems that way, forgive me, but before that awful gameplay presentation debut, in 2022 Redfall was in the same sentence as Starfield when it came to “quality exclusives coming to the Xbox in 2023”.

I think Redfall has simply brainwashed cows. Gamepass has great games, and yes most of them are third party. Gamepass is great value for money. Redfall is not going to change that. Period.

That is just the story of Cyberpunk all over again. A game gets rushed and releases in an unacceptable, unfinished state. The 4 is justified. What is interesting is how good the game will be after a couple of patches. I'll wait a month or two before I play it again.

I've been reading and watching a lot of articles and reviews on this game and it still doesn't really click for me.

Gmanlives makes it seem like there are a lot of good ideas in this game, they're just all undercooked.

While others make it seem like none of the ideas work in the first place, and the entire game needs to be rebuild from the ground up.

Nevertheless this game is being panned by both gamers and critics, both on professional websites and open forums like Steam or Metacritic.

Such a shame to see. This truly is a great developer so it's always a shame to see them deliver a dud when they are capable of so much more.

Well, on to finally playing and beating Prey Mooncrash I guess, at least I've seen a lot of praise for that game in the past few days.

@ermacness: Of course there were expectations surrounding this game. If a developer that never made a bad game announces a game is it absurd to be excited by it? What point are you trying to make?

In fact the argument to be made is the other way around. Arkane in spite of being a "cult" developer was also struggling to make a mass impression and the only reason some Xbox people started praising them was because they were bought by MS. Otherwise they would just keep ignoring them.

Played some yesterday. Visuals do seem rather last gen and the feels as well.

But it really started sucking me in and had a sorta strange Alan Wake vibe to it which there's nothing wrong with that.

I do believe it's a game I'm going back to. I'll need to play mooaar but I'm pretty sure scoring this a 4/10 is just GS being GS, ya know. we hate Xbox.com. lol :P

Redfall is the most pathetic AAA release of all the failures we've seen in the last decade. Yes, its worse than Andromeda, Destiny 1 at launch, Destiny 2 at launch, Fallout 76, Anthem, Avengers, and EVERYTHING ELSE. When someone wants an example of a catastrophic failure of a video game, remind them of Redfall. The PC version is one point away from being tied with TLOU PC. The Xbox version has gone below Forspoken. Geez.

I think Kvalleyx said he was going to pay $70 for it. If it wasn't him, I know there was at least 1 xbox guy who usually pays for their games but whoever it was may have fell back on that idea.
