[QUOTE="-Y2J-"]i heard its a fakeVasichko

thats not fake somethings you cant photoshop

You can pretty much photoshop everything. It looks kinda fishy to me.

yeah it looks real suspicious that M$ would actually do this BS screwing  me and other early xbox 360 gamers

any who it just proves if true that MS rushed there console and that ps3 is future proof either way you look at it.

Yes, but that doesn't mean everything is photoshopped.

Ask yourself this, why would somone spend so much time making a quality photoshop of a HDMI port on a 360?

[QUOTE="T-Zone"]Now, it seems that MS doesnt really care about its gamers, if they just gon giive up on the first 360. Take a look at the original Xbox, after the 360's release. The Xbox was completely kicked to the curb after a short lifespan due to 360. If this happens again, then Version 2, would be more focused on...

I say just the opposite. By not offering HDMI and a larger hard drive last year, MS gave gamers a console that will play the same games as this 'updated' one will, but gave them that console for a LOT less money than if this updated one was available at launch. Had these features been available at launch, there wouldn't have been much use for them (or at least as much as there is now) and it would have cost a lot more. MS has not been shy about saying they are going to give consumers the best product for the money, and offer upgrades when available. I wouldn't be surprised if when this is launched, an HDMI cable is also going to be made available for owners of the current 360.

I trusted MS word and bought it . felt comfortable with my purchase. NOw MS comes out a year later pretty much stating what they said before is bunch of BS.

I think this quote best sums up the issue: "early adopters cant sue microsoft over this because MS never tricked them into thinking they were getting a 65nm chip, HDMI, or a 120GB drive. They knew what they were and werent getting. Do you sue your car manufacturer every year when they update their models?" Are PS2 fans upset with Sony for releasing the Slim version? Also simply because this one has a built in HDMI port, doesn't mean that they're not going to release a HDMI adaptor cable for v1 360's. Heck we don't even know if this photo is real. And if it is real, if it's just a prototype model and has been scraped already. Before we make some crazy statements, let's wait until Microsoft announces what's really going to be included in the 360 update. What everyone needs to remember is, this isn't going to change the gameplay experience at all. All games released will play on the 360 you own now just fine.

Engadget usually never spews BS. And this is from Ryan Block, who would never pull some BS tactic to get page views.

Microsoft never said we didn't need HDMI and a bigger HD. What Microsoft said was, "We're evaluating the market and as soon as we think there's enough demand for HDMI and a bigger HD we'll provide it to the market." Only 10% of tv's in america are HD (and that's being generous) and out of those TV's 1 - 2% are actually able to accept HDMI input. That number was even lower when the 360 launched last year. It honestly didn't make any sense to include HDMI at that time. Heck there's still hardly any use for HDMI. If this rumour were true, then the number of effected people would be quite small. (in the range of 10,000). We already know the HD is upgradable so that's not even an issue, and Microsoft went on the record as saying their A/V out port was capable of doing digital out, making a HDMI cable possible. Until Microsoft does an official announcement, let's wait and see.

Please. I consider myself a lemming but by no means am I some fanboy. Get your facts straight. The PS2 went through multiple revisions. Even before the Slim version. Heck, go back and look at the launch PS2 ports, and then compare them to the 1 year later price drop PS2 ports. Sony actually removed stuff from the newer PS2's to be able to do the price drop. And that was hardly more than a year later that they did this. You're acting like you've used up all your HDD space in your 360 (if you even have one). Have you? Are you already completely full? Because I can tell you this much, mine isn't. Have you ever thought that maybe this "rumoured" 360 is focused more specifically at the high end user? Someone that is planning on using MS's Movie Download service? Are you planning on using that service to any full extent? Heck, the HDD is upgradable. I don't even see why it's an issue. If somewhere down the line you need more space. . .buy a bigger one! Dee Dee Dee. Heck it's what I had to do with my PS2. Buy multiple memory cards.

so pretty much MS rushed a console out then? because now 1-2yrs later, more ppl are buying HDTV.. Geet hanks for clearing that up . so its ok that last year model didnt come with HDMI or a bigger HD. but a year later its ok to release a new version because ppl are buying HDTV"S now? love the logic there. they should just future proof the darn console a year ago, not now.

Yes..yes, and that's why HD-DVD is currently beating it in both hardware and DVD sales. Even the demand for the PS3 has started to slow as well. I think you need to do some research. osusfaith

HDDVD isn't even close in beating DVD in sales.

DVD is still selling overwhelmingly more than HDDVD and Blu Ray.

I think he meant hardware as in "players", and dvd's as in "software" (meaning hd-dvd software vs. blu-ray software)

I was responding to this comment.

"Do some research before your talk BS. BluRay in PS3 is the best on the market. Where does MS find these guys?"

Had nothing to do with regular DVD's. Had to do with Blu-Ray, which is not outselling DVD's or HD-DVD at the moment. LG just announced the dual-player anyways. So why even waste your money on a seperate Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player, when you can get them both in one dual-player?

And risk raising the cost to dangerously high PS3 levels?  No.  The tradeoff seems acceptible.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves here.  Inclusion of HDMI doesn't affect games.  It would only affect movie playback if movie studios start to include that DRM into newly released movies.

[QUOTE="The_Game21x"]If this comes out and MS doesn't offer some sort of free or cheap upgrade service (as unlikely as that is) I'm going to be pissed. This milkage is pretty high up on the list in my opinion.Doomlike_Mitc

Agreed, if this 360 isnt going to be more expensive then a prenium 360 ATM, I am going to be an Nintendo fanboy !

Well... mostly then, still gonna buy some 360 games ofcours.

yes i agree with you. guess why im so mad right now. A year ago. MS said ps 3 with all that added feature like HDMI, Bigger HD, BR is not needed. its just a waste, we want to give you a GAMING MACHINE, NOT A MEDIA PLAYER. And that Sony is only trying to up HD blah blah. Now a year later tthis craps comes out.

Now lemmings telling me its my fault for buying a console at launch and should of waited. If i would of knowng a year and half later a new version of 360 is coming out i would of. But what MS should OF DONE IS GET THE JOB DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. AND NOT FUTURE PROOF A PRODUCT 1AND HALF Y EARS LATER.

The only difference is a bigger hard drive and a new video interface. All games will work with the old version fine. Unless you download a lot of HD movies or have a TV that doesnt accept 1080p through VGA then there is no reason to get this. I wouldnt be supprised if they released the HD as a stand alone upgrade anyway. Just be glad MS didnt release this at launch and charge 600 dollars for it. (which they would have had to do considering they were already losing close to 200$ on the permium)

Also a quieter, less expensive (and hopefully faster) version of the CPU.

Why is it always Microsoft's fault?

They told everyone a new CPU that is smaller, less heat and less energy would be released in 2007.

They told everyone that if there was a demand for HDMI... They would include it.

They told everyone that they would be looking at making a larger hard drive in the future.

Now it's coming to life. Because the demand is there. Now every one is crying about it. Well now you have it. Now you can stop crying about you not having it.

Don't cry because you couldn't wait an extra year to get one of these upgraded Xbox 360s. It's your fault. Not Microsoft's.

Well I got the Xbox 360 to play Next-Gen games and with it I can. Now if this whole ordeal is true and an upgraded console is released will I then not be able to play Next-Gen games on my 1st version Xbox 360?? Either way I still get what I wanted out of it.

Problem with your logic. You didn't keep up with the 360 through it's life.

HDMI is expensive. They left it out because the cable would be to much for people to want to purchase. Xbox 360 uses a universal output... It can do many things. They said that a HDMI cable is possible.

20 Gigs is more then enough for me. I don't have Xbox live and I delete old save files. I still have 14 GB free. The 20 GB portable hard drive is expensive to make. Due to it's study designe. They left out bigger versions till the time is right for the demand and the price.

Xbox 360 is a games console. You don't need any of that for games. VGA is fine. 20 GB is fine.

When you want more then a games console then... VGA isn't fine and 20 GB isn't fine. This market is smaller... This market comes last.

MS KNEW THEY WAS GOING TO ADD CONTENT THAT YOU CAN DL which is going to EAT UP 20GIGS OF SPACE REALLY FAST (you know the stuff they been braggina bout in the past month like TV SHOWS , MOVIES) . but yet they rushed a console out. 2 MS KNEW ABOUT HDMI TECH, BUT FELT THEY SHOULD JUST LEAVE IT OUT. Because they wanted to rushe a console out. yes im pissed. because MS SAID , WE DOTN NEED THAT . OUR CONSOLE IS JUST FOR GAMING. and made fun of sony for making a MEDIA PLAYER. Truth_Hurts_U

This market comes last.

problem with your logic is this

1. HDMI is not expensive. here www.monoprice.com have a blast buying a 10-17dollar hdmi oh after looking at that site. read this http://hdguru.com/?p=12 enjoy. really good read i must say.  but like i said. MS knew about this so called DL MOVIES AND TV SHOWS and they knew that 20GIGS GETS USED UP FAST for this type of service. but oh yah im paying 50.00  a year for what? to play FPS MP ganes that i can play on my PC for free? oh well this is the last time MS bends me over and dupe me.

sad things is with xbox 1 they at least gave me 3-4yrs to enjoy my purchase before they screwe me over. now this time its 1 and half year later. i rather have 3-4yrs Vs 1 1/2 yrs

Did you skip reading class?

HDMI cable would have cost to much. Xbox 360 uses a universal output. It is a nonstandard cable. There for it would cost more...

Like I said 360 is a games console. It uses a specially designed hard drive. It is a nonstandard hard drive. There for it would cost more...

They have to weigh everything. You just can't make something and expect people to buy it. There has to be demand. People have to be willing to pay for it.

Costs came down. It's been over a year since the launch of the 360. It will be almost 2 years since the launch once this stuff sees the light of day.

Where is the surprise and the deceit?

Well MS dropped the original Xbox's price 6 months after it launched. From $299 to $199. That's significant Did they screw over consumers then? I mean it's generally the same idea. Everyone gets burned by price drops and hardware revisions if they happened to aquire the system in question right before those changes. Imagine the people who bought a DS right before DS Lite was announced? Or people who bought a PS2 right before slimline was announced? Not all of them necessarily had the consoles since launch. If you're really that offended, I suggest you stick to not buying any consoles ever again til the end of the generation, when you KNOW no new features or price cuts will happen

if this is true. i hope it cost more then 399.00, because if not. then i guess that is what i get for getting a launch version 360.  Hopefully they will alllow us to upgrade our hard drives at least. http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/05/the-second-xbox-360-revealed-codename-zephyr/alfy13

Oh now its called babbling , because MS made a console that i like,  but thougth they shoudl just rush it out the door. and future proof it a year and half later.  you know how stupid that sounds? they could of done a year ago. but all of sudden its babbling.  because your precious MS can never do wrong to its customers.

You and lemmings can stay blind, like fanboys ususally do. but the truth is. they could of done this right the first time. but yet they didnt , but now its ok because its MS that done it. .

No, you missed my point. No company announces big hardware or price changes a good deal in advance to it's consumers. Believe it or not, many people purchased a DS right before LITE was announced. A lot of people purchased a regular PS2 before Slimline launched. Sure, those came out later in the life cycle, but that didn't mean those people were any less "screwed" as you put it. I'm not defending MS, I'm just stating that wish purchasing ANY hardware, you must accept the fact the revisions and price adjustments are always a possibility. You think the people who bought a PS2 right before Slimline was announced deserved it? That they should have thought "Hmmm....well it's been out for 4 years, I'll wait til a redesign is available, even though I don't even know if they'll ever do one, or when they will do one...."?? Of course not.

[QUOTE="T-Zone"][QUOTE="Raidea"][QUOTE="T-Zone"]Now, it seems that MS doesnt really care about its gamers, if they just gon giive up on the first 360. Take a look at the original Xbox, after the 360's release. The Xbox was completely kicked to the curb after a short lifespan due to 360. If this happens again, then Version 2, would be more focused on...

Urm, it's still the 360...just an updated version...

Yeah, but then, u would have to cough up more money for this one...

[QUOTE="alfy13"][QUOTE="osusfaith"][QUOTE="alfy13"][QUOTE="osusfaith"]Well MS dropped the original Xbox's price 6 months after it launched. If you're really that offended, I suggest you stick to not buying any consoles ever again til the end of the generation, when you KNOW no new features or price cuts will happen

question, did the ps2 slime line come out a 11/2 year later? the answer is nope. but for pricing, i bought the 399.00 version of the 360, which hasnt dropped yet. IM talking about MS SCREWING ME OVER . a year and half later they decide to push HD , when they made fun of sony for doing it. oh nvm you Lemmings , Cows, Sheeps will never understsand. you defend a product till the day you die. THANKS MS FOR SCREWING US CASUALS. I GIVE YOU A MID FINGER SALUTE.

Of course not.

k now i understand thanks. but did any of those products add anything new besides looks? but oh well , im going to lunch.

Well DS Lite has a much brighter and clearer screen then the original DS. And I know PS2 slimline couldn't have the HDD attached to it, so anyone who wanted FF11 were screwed.

Agreed. People are taking this way too far. Car companies make modifications on their models every year. So I guess that someone is being screwed if someone buys a car one year and the next year the new model comes out. :|

Yes..yes, and that's why HD-DVD is currently beating it in both hardware and DVD sales. Even the demand for the PS3 has started to slow as well. I think you need to do some research. Alucard-Shat

HDDVD isn't even close in beating DVD in sales.

DVD is still selling overwhelmingly more than HDDVD and Blu Ray.

I think he meant hardware as in "players", and dvd's as in "software" (meaning hd-dvd software vs. blu-ray software)

He said DVD's.

Blu Ray discs aren't DVD's. They are completely different media. They look the same, but they're not... just like how CD's and DVD's look the same but are different forms of optical disc media.

I meant Blu-Ray discs. I was responding to a Blu-Ray comment, so it was kind of obvious.
