This game looks soooo bad and shows what hypocrites lems are. They called any game with a QTE a movie yet here they are drooling over a game full of QTE that you can't even fail.
It insults me that you even have to say that. Of course God of War is better than that steaming pile of crap.
It's not a QTE, the game will do it for you if you don't do it so it is not a QTE.
Game looks like dump. GoW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ryse
senses_fail_06
The combat looks brain dead and the animations are a joke. Crytek has proven time and time again that they're only capable of good visuals and little else.
Oh so its not a QTE because you don't even have to push the button for the action to complete...
R4gn4r0k
It's not a QTE because you don't have to use it to defeat the enemy. Like you HAD to use it in God of War.
**********************************************************************
Lol it's still a QTE-fest no matter waht they call it. JokeSushiglutton

On bosses you HAD to use it. All other enemies you could just keep hitting and they die eventually
This demo was so embarrassing "It's not a QTE" >Immediately performs about 6 QTE's
[QUOTE="ReadingRainbow4"]The linear part is just having to complete the task at hand. You can get there however you chose though. It's an open world, so you can go where you want.Choosing where you can fight on the beach has no bearing on the linearity.

Can I get back on the boat and sail away?

Don't know. Have you tried it? lol!! Ask a smartass question, ............. Could you get back on the boat and said away in God of War? lol!!The linear part is just having to complete the task at hand. You can get there however you chose though. Lol.
Sail away to another game.
The trailer of KZ (PS4) looked great at the conference, but then they showed the game play demo that someone was playing on the showroom floor and it didn't look nearly as good. DC looked good, but Forza 5 looked better overall. I didn't see any PS4 exclusives that were better looking then Ryse, Forza 5 or Titanfall.Funnily enough it looks better than anything on PS4
robotapple
I'd be more concerned about the combat of the game than if it is linear or not.
I'd rather a game be linear and well designed than just have an open world for the sake of having an open world and having mediocre gameplay.

The difference is you DON'T have to use them. You can continue to fight and kill the enemy without the QTE type performance. With God of War bosses, you had to choice. You HAD TO USE THE QTE or else you'd die. That's a big difference. God of War wasn't open world. You're comments are embarrassing. lol!! More bias trolling from cows and a few hermits.[QUOTE="robotapple"]The trailer of KZ (PS4) looked great at the conference, but then they showed the game play demo that someone was playing on the showroom floor and it didn't look nearly as good. Game looks incredible, love medieval-themed games, but they have mostly always existed in the RPG genre. It's rare to see an action game like this, and apparently the Kinect voice command integration looks cool because you can give orders through it.

Infamous was actually one of the only games that looked good and actually played good with no drop in performance. My only worry about Infamous is how it plays and how fun it will be. I'm hoping I won't have to cancel any of my pre-order games.Funnily enough it looks better than anything on PS4

[QUOTE="Ghost120x"]He keeps saying "look no QTE" but what I am seeing is QTE....blackaceI don't think you people even know what QTE (Quicktime Event) actual means. lol!! That's the funny part of this thread. whatever you say  I see button prompts, and a cinematic-like sequence that takes the player away from the gameplay limiting his/her control. Whether or not it is or isn't required doesn't make it any less a QTE.

Can I get back on the boat and sail away?
Don't know. Have you tried it? lol!! Ask a smartass question, ............. Could you get back on the boat and said away in God of War? lol!!No because GOW didn't try and sell itself as "Non-linear". It knew it was linear and never tried to fool anybody into thinking it wasn't
RYSE is touting itself as non-linear yet all I can see is linearity. It's slightly wider than some games but it's still an A to B game
I am not planning to get an Xbone very soon after launch. That said, this is the only game that caught my eye from MS's E3 showing. But that is because I like anything Rome and enjoy the setting/history and such. I also don't mind occasional QTE's, as long as it is not the main premise of the gameplay structure. Guess we will just have to wait for more to be shown.Something tells me when the game comes out people will realize it is much better than the E3 showing. I am not saying it is a system seller or AAA, I am just saying it will be a good game.

Sony would have never greenlit this low quality. We give Demon Souls and God of war, MS gives Ryse. god of war show how to do combat right, this look likes poor copy.Mr-KutaragiHow are you doing my good sir?
Are the people who prepared the MS conference stupid?

I think we already know the answer to this question

Sony is far from perfect. No one is excepting Ryse to be a "AAAE" game, but I still expect it will be good and fun nontheless.

Haze and Lair were from quality dev last gen but they cannot maintain in next gen, and release poor quality. Sorcery is move game, not AAA release. Yakuza is sega game, we don't control. All star and LBP are fun game, but not expect to be AAA. GT5 was unfinished, but mistake is fixed with GT6, and feature most impressive quality. Some feature are not even present in next gen Forza. ;) Sony put out better quality than MS, you cannot debate.
Why would you need to press an additional button to complete an action you've already initiated? That makes no sense under most forms of conventional game design.Oh so its not a QTE because you don't even have to push the button for the action to complete...

edit: For a 'modifier' window it seems way to long. Instead of having slow-down and a button prompt it might just be better to have some kind of hit-flash on contact or something less noticeable that you would need to acquire a feel for. My question looking at that is, why wouldn't I hit the button? Is there a tactical trade-off to not doing so? And if not why not hit it every time (the timing looks very generous)?
