It still looks boring as hell.MBirdy88To be fair it didn't LOOK boring. It's a shame that's all there is to it though.
[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"][QUOTE="blackace"]It's not a QTE because you don't have to use it to defeat the enemy. Like you HAD to use it in God of War. blackace
On bosses you HAD to use it. All other enemies you could just keep hitting and they die eventually
This demo was so embarrassing "It's not a QTE" >Immediately performs about 6 QTE's
The difference is you DON'T have to use them. You can continue to fight and kill the enemy without the QTE type performance. With God of War bosses, you had to choice. You HAD TO USE THE QTE or else you'd die. That's a big difference. God of War wasn't open world. You're comments are embarrassing. lol!! More bias trolling from cows and a few hermits.LMAO, what a stupid argument !!!
God of War did QTEs right. You had to use them on bosses and if you didn't you died. And like sean said, the enemies would die after a while but you can speed up the process with QTEs (if you don't complete QTE on an enemey you loose some health)
Now Ryse has this same system with enemies but the difference is, you don't even have to push any buttons anymore once you activate the QTE... and you call that an improvement ? LMAO, before you start accusing others of fanboyism, look at yourself first

Currently if you don't push the buttons you dont get the bonus. But a simple settings option to change that to require button pressing (perhaps on a higher difficulty level) would sort it. Giving you the best of both, instead of requiring you to do it or you die.ppfff Crytek just go back to when Crysis was released, which imo was the only good game you did !!
Malta_1980
Been playing Crysis 3 lately and the game is pretty awesome. Better than Crysis 1 and 2 imo.
If there's anything that this video confirmed, it's that Ryse game most definitely will be a linear experience. That's not necessarily a bad thing, games can still be great experiences and not be open world. I think the combat looks okay, and perhaps a bit too cinematic. I think the QTEs slow the combat down too much. I believe the fighting would be better off for the button prompts be required (not optional) and in real time speed. Like in Arkham Asylum/City, I want to be able to string long combos together quickly and get into a "zone".
[QUOTE="Scipio8"]I agree completely. God of War was boring ten minutes into the game. We will have to see how this game holds up. I know a lot of people are excited to try it.Game looks good, better than that bore fest God of War. The camera angles drove me nuts.
stizzal13
lol if you honestly think this is better than GoW
moving 12ft to the left makes games non-linear now? I think all that proved is the game wasn't on rails, it still looks extremely linear.ferret-gamerConsider this was a Kinect game at once I could see how being able to move in other directions besides forward being non-linear and "open"
It looked just as linear as it did suring the conference. I'm calling it right now... This game will be a monstrous disaster on par with Lair and Sonic 06
[QUOTE="happyduds77"]
The game is linear. You still have to go from point A to point B, but the combat is open.
The animations are implemented poorly even current gen games like The Last Of Us has way better animations.
Aidenfury19
To be fair Naughty Dog makes just about everyone else look bad when it comes to animations.
The only dev that's almost as good is Rockstar.this game basically just has to be a graphical showcase. the gameplay can suffer, the copy and paste fighting is ok, but from the start of the demo with him the grahics kept me tuned in. This could be a solid AAE title, probably will be A 7.5 but ill take it.

Giving you the best of both, instead of requiring you to do it or you die. Other games QTE, you don't die (except Bayonetta), you just lose health. If you execute QTE successfully, you gain health/mana/whatever, not a freaking score :/. Now they turn it into a fvcking 'press X to score higher' game. It's as trash as it can get. Please Log In to post.
