I hated those things.[QUOTE="DaysAirlines"]Regenerators - RE4 .skrat_01
The sound they made..... Sends shivers down my spine thinking of them. And how they slowley approached you jittering and shaking - or when you blew off their legs - and the would lunge at your throat.
I totally agree the Regenerators were definitely the scariest enemies I have faced. The fact that they can run made them even worse. I remember I was using a shotgun towards one of the regenerators and laughing when suddenly he started running and I was like "oh sh**", so I was about to use the shotgun again but I had no bullets so I started reloading and the next thing I saw was Leon on the floor with his neck cut up :(
I don't useally get scared of games or there enemies, but my most recent game that made me jump out of my seat was when I was playing Half-Life 2 Ep2, I was going along in my car not expecting anything, and all of a sudden a freggin Fast Zombie jumped on my car and started screaming at me, the reason this made me jump because it was so unexpected and they could never do this any any other Half-Life.. Damn that made me jump so high, I laugh at it now though haha.
When OOT came out I was so scared of Redeads and the well.
Regenorators in RE4 are probably the scariest that I have seen.

The reason I stopped playing the game, making it run through a door like 5 times and your buddy constantly running in front of it? No thanks.
To contribute to the topic I'd have to say the most terrified I've ever was must've been because of Resident Evil, the first one, a while back. That slow walk and you know when the distance between you and them isn't enough time for bullets. Anyway, this was a lot of years ago.

pyramid head
regenerators
crimson head
nemesis
fast headcrab zombie
but in the end, there is only one winner
The Splicers from BioShock could be fairly horrific at times, too.
BambooBanger
the first time a had to pause a game for sheer terror was the virst time a ever saw one of those female one come running round a corner horrificaly fast trailing their sparking lead pipe on the floor and screaming 'IM TRYING TO CONTROL MYSELF!' they kinda wear off after a bit but taken by surpise after a bit in the clear they can still give me a fair fright.

"of corse..... you can always shoot them in the face"
Regenerators from Resident Evil 4.
Honestly the entire game is not scary, but the funny thing is, when you encounter these things they scare you more than any other game, ever. They are so freakishly horrible and repulsive - the way they flop through windows and dive from the floor to your neck with their teeth and the way they breathe and move...
Also Crimson Heads personally scare me a fair bit since they are so damned difficult to kill and when you reach over to burn the zombie there is always the question: will he become a crimson as I do this and attack me?
Arhazard
regenerators... when you heard that sound is was OHSHI- time.
Regenerators from RE4. But as long as you had the right sniper scope, they're a cake walk.
Nemesis takes the cake really cause he had his ways of coming out of nowhere and sticking a claw through Jill's face like it was no one's business. And let's not forget that bazooka he had.

you fail because the RE zombie you posted wasnt a crimson head. crimson heads are....well...crimson, and they have sharp claws and teeth
I almost forgot -
The shark that swam in the water on Treasue Trove Cove in Banjo Kazooie. I was like 6... I honestly don't remeber why that was so amazingly frightening to me at the time. When you're that old, you aren't extremely coordinated so getting out of the water was something tricky. Not to mention that the Jaws music they played was just... scary. But in the end.... I was 6! Lay off haters.

What about the chainsaw guy?
Headless Kamikazes.
Anybody who has played Serious Sam will know why they are terror incarnate.
Back in the day, when it got really quiet, I could hear them coming for me.

I 100% agree with the regenerators...Damn that was scary!
agreed. the regenerators were freaky as hell. the sound they made. *chills* :(
crimson heads too. u never know if hes gonna die or the thing will pop out of his head and cut at you. although if you were close enough you could see the red eyes that gave it away.
I nominate SOVEREIGN. Sovereign is the a massive squid-like dreadnaught warship in Mass Effect. Soveriegn is a sentient AI that leads hordes of Geth into space combat. It's mammoth black hull and tentacle-like 'legs' (not to mention a sinister super-laser) are the perfect conduits for itsmalicious goal: destroying all organic civilizations in the Milky Way.
The concept of Sovereign is just terrifying. And that's why I nominate 'it' for one of the scariest enemies of all time slots.
Name Yours!

Thanks for spoiling what the SOVEREIGN really is.
1.- Nemesis - Resident Evil 3 ):
2.- Regenerators - Resident Evil 4

I remember years ago I read in a magazine if you reset Animal Crossing enough Mr. Resetti gets really angry. Eventually, after 10-20 resets, he said "YOU LIKE RESETTING SO MUCH? FINE, I'LL DO IT FOR YOU, AND I'LL DO YOU ONE BETTER! YOU, YOUR TOWN, YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR ITEMS, ALL YOU'VE WORKED FOR, GONE! SAY GOODBYE!" and then the screen showed the "reset line" that happens when you press reset.
I nearly crapped myself before I realized it was just a joke.
The Butcher from Diablo. I was terrorfied of him for the longest time.
And those really fast, jumping, screaming zombies from Half Life 2.
Those ****ing underwater monsters in Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. I've hated going into water in video games ever since.
Also, the hybrids and the spiders from System Shock 2.
Kefka From FF3 ( USA ) dood was just sick and twisted, and you basically never knew what he was gonna do next.....
The entrie Resident Evil series.... shivers*
and the FPS games Aliens Vs. Preadator 1 & 2... I actually had to stop playing them for a little while cause they were actually scaring me that bad  :( The games was insane.....
Winner ?
AVP 1&2 the fps games.

man hearing all these people being scared silly over RE kinda makes me feel bad. The thing is its my favorite game series and i anticpate each ones release like a 5 year old awaits christmas. This means that when i finally play each one like lastly RE4 i'm so damn happy playing that i am never ever scared of anything in them. ive had some jump moments from nemesis or the oven guy in re4 but nothings really ever scared me like other games mainly for this reason. I want these games to scare me but it just doesnt happen. I never minded the regenerators
