Xbox Scorpio is going to use Zen for it's CPU.

I'd usually recommend a gaming PC over any system, but at 600 bucks you might as well look at getting a Scorpio with a few games.
Nothing against budget PCs, but $600 is really scraping the barrel.
What if the Scorpio is modular and you can replace certain parts to make it more powerful ?
Even so, a console doesn't appeal because of the closed software system. I'd rather have full control of my games in regards to mods and controls.
Build me this $600 PC, the OS alone is going to run you at least $120, then you have to factor in a controller so you're looking at another $60, you're already down to $420 for your build and you haven't even started assembling the computer yet...
You can buy OS for 30 bucks from key resellers. And you can download windows officially from Ms web site without purchasing it.
Gray market keys, also that year long promotion ended quite a while ago.
Wait, it did?

Looks like you can still get it right here.

That is for people requiring assistive technologies, the year long promotion ended. I realize you can just lie to download this but that's kind of morbid, also I'm curious if this is a different package that requires some kind of verification.
@kvally: Yea scorpio is probably the choice if only playing console for multiplats but xbox exclusives dont cut it for me. They arent bad but are by far the least diverse and least amount. Im going PC
And see for me, it's just the opposite. I find the PS and Xbox both diverse. But nobody is ever alike, and that is what makes having choices like we do, a good thing. That is why I have to have all 3. I prefer gaming on console, but I would hate to miss out on PC games like World of Warcraft, Star Citizen, Arma III and the big racing sims.

The fact of the matter is, anyone can still download and install it.
And no on verification: "We are not restricting the free upgrade offer to specific assistive technologies. If you use assistive technology on Windows, you are eligible for the free upgrade offer."
Build me this $600 PC, the OS alone is going to run you at least $120, so you're down to $480.
You can get Windows for $20 USD. I wish I knew about this before my new build over a year ago. And even if you forego that to build a PC for $700-800, that nominal price difference yields a huge difference in performance. And with the massive savings in game costs, plus the inherent flexibility, freedom and consumer options that comes with the platform; makes it more than worth the extra $200+. Of course we have no official price on the X-Scorpio, so that should factor as well. And there are the other benefits.
Gray market keys, in other words illegal and a ToS violation which you just endorsed as a moderator, also you can get mostly anything gray market for substantial discounts, but consumers in general do not, they purchase from authorized vendors.
That channel is a trusted tech education/information/advisory site, covering product reviews (they receive products from manufacturers they want covered) and how-to guides. I don't think they'd be endorsing anything illegal.
They purchase keys in bulk from poverty stricken regions and resell them in unauthorized regions at exorbitantly lower costs, it's gray market trade, also in a lot of instances these bulk keys are purchased with stolen bank accounts and credit cards. While gray market trade is not technically illegal it's bordering illegality depending on trade agreements between nations and the source of purchase, you have no way of knowing where they are from, how they were purchased and it's most definitely a ToS violation.
Don't be a drama queen when it suits your argument lol. The keys that i have bought so far were for "worldwide" region, completely legal, and if they are from poverty stricken countries or not, who cares. 120 bucks is even expensive for not "poverty-stricken countries" like the US or Canada lol

No, I actually meant this.

MS actually allows to install Windows 10 right away. If you don't have a key at the time of installation, it will be installed as 30-day trial, and during those 30 days you register your windows copy with any legal key you got. So basically returning to the topic of what you called "grey market", basically MS itself encourage you to get your windows in any way you like as long as you don't pirate it lol. I have two PC that have been running on keys from resellers for 2 years already and didn't have any problem so far. Many resellers are 5 stars vendors who actually care about feedback from their buyers as if it was Amazon or Ebay.

shhh
he just bullied a selling assistant into getting a copy of FFXV for 50% off due to human error... hes not in a position to talk.
Regardless, "Find me a PC for 600$ that can perform as well as a Scopio" yea? Then find me a Scorpio that has any exclusive games even worth having the console for? oh... none. Find me a scopio that has even a fraction of the library of a $200 PC let alone anything else.
Always love this cherry picked "Performance is the only factor that counts sorry!" nonsense. a $600 PC is better than a $600 console will ever be... period.

Correct. There's nothing illegal about this.
PC all the way, I wouldn't even consider wasting money on scorpio until it has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's worth the cash including a solid library (which it won't have for years). PC has done that hundreds of times over. Just take that $600 and and save it for a few months until you have enough for a strong PC, that's money well spent.
If Scorpio gets jaguar will the $100 i3 6100 walk over it?
If yes thus in ALL games shared between PC and Scorpio a mere 1060 3gb and i3 combo will run crazy and even 4k
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3ssJpb BELOW 600 and 1 year ahead
What will happen in 1year? LOL 500$ PC will laugh at scorpio

We both know even a $600 PC is still a hell lot better then just getting a console, especially MS console!
Considering Microsoft is moving their games to PC, I have no reason to buy the Scorpio or whatever the name will be eventually. My GTX 1080 and Core I7 6700K will handle future games just fine. I also already have an Xbox one as well and games will still be made for that when the Scorpio is released.
PC is the future.. Even if the $600 pc didn't some how outdo the scorpio (which I think it would), you get full backwards compatability and are opened up to the largest and most varied platform in gaming now.. 10 years back I would say that there are merits for the console with certain game franchises and genres.. But now? All the big franchises and genres are multiplat, I never thought in a million years to see fighting games would come to the pc.. In fact I originally bought a PS3 to play Streetfighter 4 because I never thought I would ever see a fighting game on the pc.. Boy was I wrong. Even the once great console features, like local multiplayer, is being discarded by console devs..

very very few pc gamers even use 4k resolution.. This is a horrible strategy for the consoles to even go after when most people would rather play at 1440p or 1080p at 60fps compared to 4k (or alittle below) with 30fps.. 30fps for most genres is absolute garbage.
It seems to me that nothing has changed. It's the exact same decision people made at the outset of this gen and the one before. The pros for consoles vs pc still apply to Scorpio. Nobody is going to stop being a PC gamer for Scorpio, and it's going to be powerful enough that people who prefer gaming on console will feel safe continuing to do so
@Fairmonkey:
What are the Scorpio specs?
6 Teraflop GPU, 12 GB's of RAM, 320+ GB/s of memory bandwidth, 8 core CPU (likely Zen based), UHD Blu-Ray drive.
@dynamitecop: @kvally: Awesome. Glad I'm not the only one on these forums getting it.
Cows will buy it as well, just watch, remember the posts, await the flip flop when they realize they can't hack the state of inferiority.
@dynamitecop:
That's confirmed?
I haven't seen MS announce anything beyond a 6 tflop gpu which could probably change.
@dynamitecop: I could see that. If you don't have a capable PC I don't see why you wouldn't get the Scorpio. It's a strong machine, and most people don't have PC's stronger than the Scorpio, even though a lot of people pretend they do.

That is very true.
As a PS4 Pro owner, the Scorpio would be a slight hardware upgrade, but a big software downgrade. As a beefy PC owner, the Scorpio is nothing more than lulz worthy.
PC.
Why is this even a question?
Because popular to general reality, no one is you, you are you, they are them, they have their own brains and priorities regarding what best suits them.
@dynamitecop:
I don't understand. Are you saying MS announced the specs?
I must have missed it.
Did you watch the reveal?
@walloftruth:
Why software downgrade? Just curious.
I prefer the PS4 OS this gen but it's not a huge deal in my mind.

He's projecting that it has better games, something based entirely from his own personal and subjective viewpoints.
"they are them, you are you, and I am I, a Microsoft employee directed to misinform the masses"
The only industry manufacturer I have worked for is Nintendo, so you're more than a ways off.
Also, in what capacity am I misinforming people? Please do elaborate.
This is obviously some kind of troll thread because nobody can be that dumb... or he's just a ridiculously blind fanboy.

Thanks Cpt. Obvious, though it's not just my personal viewpoint, the majority of the industry agrees with me.
@primorandomguy: anyone with a computer even a crappy integrated GPU can get a card that surpasses scorpio for $200
