Because popular to general reality, no one is you, you are you, they are them, they have their own brains and priorities regarding what best suits them.
PCs play Scorpio games plus PC exclusives and you can do infinitely more with them. Unless you really REALLY love the Xbone ecosystem there's no reason to pick a Scorpio over a PC if you can either one.
- You don't want a PC
- You don't care about PC
- You don't want to deal with upgrading
- You don't want to deal with compatibility issues
- You don't want to deal with games not working
- You don't want to deal with updating
- You don't want to deal with noise
- You don't want to deal with high costs
- You don't want to deal with a desktop operating system
- You don't want to deal with reformatting
- You don't want to deal with a mouse and keyboard
- You want something that is family friendly
- You want something that is simple that just works
- You want something that specifically plays games and functions as an entertainment device
- You want something that is small, easy to hook up and use
I mean this really could go on and on, consoles in general are an everyday joe kind of device, and the everyday joe is the majority of the consumer market.
Bolded statements no longer apply and others like reformatting hard drives are a long stretch. I have not had to reformat a hard drive in many years and reasons for having to reformat are not caused by gaming on a PC unless you are pirating games and get a nasty virus. If that happens, that is on the user.
They actually do apply, a console for example can go for 9 years as we've seen before needing a replacement and still keep up with all the most modern games. For PC development they do not adjust to the constraints of present technology, they push it and within a short few years your PC will no longer be able to hack it.
Some games just flat out don't work for people, they won't start, they won't launch, there's too many variables, it's a state of PC gaming reality sometimes.
Regardless of what you may think, if you get a PC you're going to get into more advanced programs, custom programs etc, that of which will all have to be updated manually and individually.
Any PC capable of playing modern games, especially ones which will be operating games at 4K are going to be noisy.
You need a mouse and keyboard to navigate the operating system.
As for reformatting, it's an eventuality through the natural act of cluttering your file system, if you overclock it's a certainty, you can completely brick your boot sector from a botched OC.
Hell, I didn't even mention driver problems of all things.
