I know it is not out yet but it is as of now the one and only reason I'm getting a PS3, Devil May Cry 4.

Having the blue tooth controller "disconnect" all the time is not reliability.

Your controller must suck then.  I haven't had a disconnect the entire time I've owned mine and it's a launch system.

Price?

Blue-ray?

Backward Compatability?

Games?

So far it seems like they totally missed the mark on a lot of things.  I'm sure in about a year or so they will get in line but man that's a bad way to get thigns started.

chulomex3

I was under the impression that Sony did do Backward Compatability right. and that Blue-ray was good. and it has been my experience that the 360 library was crap until the following summer, 6 months later. And yes.... the price does suck.

Positives:

  1. Blu-Ray Player. Great High-Def Movies, More Storage for Video Games on a single disc.
  2. Backwards Compatibility (Yes its flawless. I live in America.)
  3. Bluetooth Connectivity (Mice, Keyboards, Headsets. Wireless Love :)
  4. Card Readers - Great for Multimedia Purposes. A feature that limits 360 Multimedia.
  5. A lovely 60GB Hard Drive.  I Can swap it out for any Notebook Hard Drive.  I Can pop in a 250GB HD if I desired.
  6. PlayStation 3 is more fail-proof than the 360 was at launch. More Aesthetically Pleaseing, and quieter Console than 360.
  7. The Controller is light and its just the newest reiteration of the great dual-shock 2. I do miss the rumble but its still great.
  8. Free Online Gaming.
  9. HDMI Support.
  10. Web Browsing with the ability to use a mouse and keyboard
  11. The XMB Interface is slick.
  12. Built-in Wifi.
  13. Future Firmwares to improve the OS, Network, and PS Store.

Negatives:
  1. Price for some people is too expensive.
  2. Currently a lack of great software. (Not much beyond Resistance, Call of Duty 3, Virtua Fighter 5, Fight Night 3)
  3. No Rumble.
  4. Online Features as it stands are currently lacking....future firmwares will improve this however.
thats really it. You can throw in all that marketing and PR crap as negatives, but none of that has a true negative effect on the PS3 sitting in my home.

It happens with both controllers.

Choice A) controllers cut out occasionally (I personally haven't had one INSTANCE of this occuring) Choice B) seeing the red ring of lights (see sig) and having an expensive paperweight on my entertainment rack hmmm hmmm you are right...I think B is the way to go

[QUOTE="Nike_Air"]People can buy whatever they want , Sony is not forcing you to buy one. Is Microsoft forcing you to pay to play games online ?
SpruceCaboose

You can buy a 360 and not play on Live. You cannot buy a PS3 without Blu-Ray. See the difference?

The difference is pretty obvious, but what you clearly can't understand is the fact that YOU DO NOT have to buy a PS3. Get it?

Funny, but I haven't had a single problem with the 360. No red rings of death, and no scratched disks. I'll trade you my PS3 for your PS3! Then I would be all set.

It does this better than the 360, you have to give it that.

If you want to play their exclusives you do. THEN you are forced to spend the money on the Blu-ray. I would have gone with a $400 PS3 if they had one without the blu-ray.

By the time it's absolutely necessary as a format for games (which it really isn't right now) it (and similar technologies) should be much cheaper.

I guess the PS3 is good at being a less expensive blu-ray player though, at the moment at least.

But if you're into HD movies, you'd probably be better off getting something that plays both HD-DVD and Blu ray right now, until there is a clear victor in the format war.   If you absolutely need that sort of thing...

Both Sony and Microsoft would have been better off putting a triple or quad layer DVD drive (These do exist don't they?) into the systems. This would have solved the "for games" issue, and the PS3 would have been cheaper.
