Exactly. Most people will play RDR2 on the OG XBox One and PS4 and the last time I checked the OG PS4 was more powerful than the OG Xbox, meaning more people will play the superior PS4 version.

The 1070 doesn’t need to be that much better, it’s still significantly better though. The potato CPU in your FlopBoneX ensures that 60fps on most games is still a pipe dream while on my PC I can get 60fps in every games at ultra settings. I’m using 16GB of RAM right now and thinking about upgrading since games like Star Citizen are starting to require 16GB and higher to perform well online.
I might even get the 1170 towards the end of the year. The only thing stopping me is that I’m worried the performance jump won’t be much and I’ll have to get another GPU in 2020 when the PS5 arrives. The thing about PC gaming is that you‘re not required to keep up with the latest GPUs especially when the one you currently own maxes out every game with ease.

From what Ive been hearing and reading the new 1100 series will only be a one tier jump from Pascal while pascal was a two tier jump in performance vs maxwell. So chances are 1170 will be around GTX 1080 level of performance. IMO anyone with a GTX 1070 or better should wait until next year at least when 7nm hits the market and that is where we will see a sizable improvement over Pascal.

My library is massive and growing, my biggest request for state of decay is coming in 3 weeks in the sequel. Halo, Gears, PUBG (new map!!) are active and fun. Dual GTX 1080 Ti in SLI useless for most case idiot. TitanXP is not an upgrade from GTX 1080 TI since it's a single digit percentage improvements and GTX 1080 Ti has automatic overclock with liquid cooling.

There's very little difference between Titan XP and GTX 1080 TI i.e. a simple overclock easily match it or water block cooling enables auto-overclock mode.
The generation gap is growing so much. I seriously don't care about resolution and frame rate. Long as it looks nice, is fun and feels smooth - I'm good
