[QUOTE="wapahala"]

[QUOTE="stylesPS3"] since gta4 and oblivion werent enough. have you ever waited for assassins creed to load the world on a 360? i have, and it gave me enough time to pour shots for 5 people down them, wipe my face, and still give me a few more seconds to wait. then one day i went out and bought a ps3, and bought assassins creed and guess what, the load times were horrible, but not even half as bad as it was when i played it on 360. This is called proof, not raving fanboys. proof is when youve tried both, and can share it with the rest and let them try it for themselves without hiding anything not "i disagree"stylesPS3

No, that's not "proof". "Proof" is when you have evidence to back-up your claim.... Which you don't have.

its more proof then he was stating as proof. there is nothing stopping you from proving or disproving my claim so i dont see how its not legit

Well just did a quick google search about GTA4 and found this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JkBXdjGnX4

Well you can see that his console was still using the old Xbox 360 dashboard before the NXE came out which would mean that game installs were not possible yet so yes it was running off of the DVD drive.

You're just digging yourself a deeper hole. The 360 loaded into a playable state at a much faster rate than the PS3. It's okay, admitting a mistake now will look much better than persisting in this line of debate in the face of such concrete evidence.

Umm, I'm pretty sure that whole intro showing the different pictures is part of the initial load time into the game. If it wasn't why make us sit through it?

Congrats on losing any credibility you may have ever had on this forum. GTA4 booted faster on the 360 and that's without the 10-15 seconds that installing it shaves off the 360 load time. You've made erroneous post after erroneous post in this thread, then say that when we can clearly see the 360 loading faster that it doesn't "really" load faster. You are now an irrelevant cow. good day.

maybe the game is lying to us, maybe they were are Continue loading, but wait, why not just put more pretty pictures up since u already started to, why all of a sudden go out of your way to tell us your game has a long load as well. i know, they wanted to *** us off thats why they did it.

The start up screens are the loading of the actual game(where the title screen would be on a game that doesn't autoload the last saved game). The "loading" screen is when the game loads a saved game.

there are many different factors that contribute to load times. you mention 1 of them (one which i don't really know is true other then you stating it so).

just look at the end result to see which is taking longer. its also a proven fact that the ps3's blu ray drive is slower then the 360's dvd drive. should i base load speeds off of this or just play some games and get a feel?

call it what you want, the real load screen that is labelled LOAD for those who want to ignore it, takes 6 almost 7 seconds longer on 360. what is it you want to prove, the proof is in the pudding.

Your "proof" is you looking at a video and clearly stating the opposite of what is shown. It takes longer for the PS3 to start it up and load the game than it takes the 360 to do so.

Wrong... The majority of games load faster on 360. If you have a HDD you can install the whole game to speed it up by a second or two. Some games run worse from the HDD and others run better. But it's been shown that 12x DVD drive is faster then a 2x BR drive.

BR is so big in storage that Dev's need to make duplicated data on the disc... Other Dev's result to mandatory hard drive installs... All because BR's seek time is far greater then DVD's.

LOL! No, just no! You obviously had no idea what you were talking about when you started the thread. You went on and on about uncompressed files (which load slower than compressed ones, btw) and blu-ray drives (which are slower than dvd drives). And then when someone posted video proof, you try to redefine your argument. Sorry, but load time is load time whether the developer placed a screen marker that says "LOADING" or not. According to Playstation Pro 2.0 Game Dictionary, a load time is "The time it takes for information to transfer from a storage device, like a CD-ROM or cartridge to RAM." Doesn't mention anything about having to see the word "LOADING" does it?

[QUOTE="stylesPS3"][QUOTE="luis1972"]This thread is a train wreck. I've never seen one poster get owned by so many people in one thread (other than that guy that pretended he had an XBLA account). What is up with cows being so insecure?luis1972
yep i got owned, yet proof backs me. i would rather have the proof then fanboy back thx :)

LOL! No, just no! You obviously had no idea what you were talking about when you started the thread. You went on and on about uncompressed files (which load slower than compressed ones, btw) and blu-ray drives (which are slower than dvd drives). And then when someone posted video proof, you try to redefine your argument. Sorry, but load time is load time whether the developer placed a screen marker that says "LOADING" or not. uncompressed files dont need to be loaded thats the whole benefit, or dont u think they would compress them, like holy ****. they are read straight, only 360 needs to do this.

2x BR Drive = 10x DVD drive (roughly)

Xbox 360 has 12x DVD drive

Blu-Ray is constant read which is why the HDD came standard with the PS3- and indeed many games have mandatory installs. without them loading can be very slow.

[QUOTE="pyromaniac223"]

[QUOTE="stylesPS3"] dont worry i expect you to completely ignore the load time.stylesPS3

Sigh...look man. The load screen took longer on the PS3 than it did on the 360. It's OKAY. It's NOT A BIG DEAL.

do you know how to read? when it says Now Loading - That is the Load screen.

So you're saying that the intro screen showing the different pictures is not part of the initial load time into the game? Then that would mean that we are forced to watch it every time we boot up the game for no reason. Yeah that doesn't make much sense to me.

Um, what? All files, compressed or uncompressed, must be loaded into RAM in order for it to be seen or heard. If you have an uncompressed wave file on your hard drive, does it just play itself automatically? LOL! Dude? Do you know anything about anything?

congradulations, a game starts up faster, just like GTA4 too bad it doesnt have anything to do with loads, he could loaded a game after the startup but obviously he wouldnt, luckily GTA4 does this automatically. P.S. ingame loads is what this thread was about for people getting off topic.

Jeebus! You're not shy about showing your ignorance, are ya? Are you really under the impression that files on an optical disc go straight from the disc to your TV? Wha? Let me enlighten you to the computing process... files (optical disc or HDD) ---> RAM ---> game engine (for in-game inputs and outputs) or video codec (for cutscenes) or sound engine (for sound files) ---> TV. In any event, all files in an optical disc, whether they be compressed or uncompressed, must be processed through software and hardware and in each step, those files must be "loaded." Information don't go directly from the disc to your TV. LMAO!

360 games use compressed data and every time a game needs to load, the data needs to be decompressed either with RAM or in the HD. Bluray's space is utilized for decompressed data and this simple fact is why you will notice ps3 games have shorter loading times then 360.

theres is a way to sometimes get around that, like when you can hook up your cd rom in a pc straight to the sound card and play audio files through aux or something like that, but its totally differen't in games, since the games a program and all the things that the program needs has to be memory or stream it, but streaming it goes to memory anyway... he might just be a bit confused

LOL! I missed that gem. I didn't realize compressed files must be uncompressed first before it can be used! LOL! I should tell my iPod to stop playing all my mp3 files since they're compressed afterall.
