Which one would you buy, if you had to choose one?

The easiest way to answer this, If you had access to *fully* play both games, and ask which was a better experience for you Demon's Souls or Oblvion?
Esay anwser for me since Demon's Souls was better than Oblivion by a factor of 1000x infinity to 1.
as a matter of fact, even without me playing DS, Oblivion was just a horrible game compaired to what came out last gen in Elder Scrolls Morrwoind 3.
So Dark Souls it is.
Dark Souls is my most anticipated game of the year, I would only get Skyrim if I wanted to have a game to waiste a bunch of time on just because Im bored.
Skyrim.
Dark Soulds isnt gonna have mods.

That's because mods are scared to death of Dark Souls.
Skyrim > Japanese WRPG wannabe. In reality I want both, but I will actually be choosing between them this holiday is too much! Will get it when it's cheaper.SaltyMeatballs
From Software is the ONLY "Western RPG" company in all of Japan.
You have to give them props for doing something bold and risky.

Interesting. Did Demons Souls sell well in Japan? That's an easy choice. Skyrim. I don't have a PS3. Of course, even if I did I would still pick Skyrim.

No, Dark Soulds isn't going to have mods because its on an inferior platform incapable of supporting mods.
Do you want to stick by that comment?not only is is false but it also shows how little you actually know about those "inferior platform"s as you describe them.

That is true. Though I admit, the thought of playing TES without mods scares the bejesus out of me. :PSkyrim. I loved Oblivion. Never played Demon's Souls, and I have no intention of playing Dark Souls.

Sorry, the tiny handful of PS3-UT3 compatible mods does not constitute as mod support by any stretch of the imagination beyond technicalities. Just because the PC has 2 or 3 modern fighting games does not make me so naive as to call the PC a fighting gamer's platform.
Skyrim for several reasons.
1. I personally found both Oblivion and FO3 way more fun than Demon Souls, like alot more fun. They also scored alot higher at GR/MC.
2. Skyrim will last alot longer in 1 play through alone, but Skyrim will also offer more re-playability with its radiant story, better RPG and roleplaying mechanics, and open world gameplay.
3. Mods. There will probably be mods that tweak old gameplay mechanics to perfection, allow graphics to look way better than Dark Souls, and offer completely new gameplay experiences which result in a never ending world.

Interesting. Did Demons Souls sell well in Japan?Week 1: [PS3]Demon's Souls(SCE)39,689/NEW
Week 2: [PS3]Demon's Souls (SCE) 22,000/62,000
Week 3: [PS3]Demon's Souls(SCE)15,000/78,000

It's sold ~135,000 copies in Japan, and ~500,000 copies in America.
Considering Demon's Souls had a low budget and was a new IP, the game did very well.

Many people would consider playing Skyrim on consoles a loss.[QUOTE="TheMoreYouOwn"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"] Or the whole, "It's a console game" thing. :PDa_lil_PimP
