[QUOTE="Moriarity_"]Considering that Skyrim will need mods to be playable I'll take Dark Souls any day.Stringerboy
Please lend me your time machine.
While it is crawling in sarcasm, recent Bethesda titles benefit greatly from mods and patches. Some even shortly after launch.Which one would you buy, if you had to choose one?

LOL Oh man are you serious with this Poll ? Let me educate all the gamers in this forum who might not know this already.
Elder Scrolls V Skyrim will be the best game ever made, BAR NONE, and most likely will stay the best game ever made until the next Elder Scrolls game comes out.
I don't care how biased i sound, with no other game do you get such a massively huge vast world with literally thousands of things to do, no other game gives you as much for your money except for maybe Fallout 3, and even that wasn't as large in scale as Oblivion.
Now Skyrim is supposed to have an extra 20,000 lines of dialogue over Oblivion and the world itself is supposed to be even bigger.
What the heck is Dark Souls ? is that the sequel to that annoying Demon Souls game where you kept dying like 100 times in the first hour of the game, and if so who on earth would be looking forward to an even harder sequel ?, which by the way will most likely be a linear based game like it's predecessor anyway.
Sorry, no contest Skyrim will dominate the RPG genre and all video games period for years to come whether fanboys here want to admit it or not.

Dark Souls will be more open than Demon's Souls. I died a lot at first with Demon's Souls, but I never found it annoying or frustrating. I could always see where I went wrong and it made me feel determined to do better next time and become a better player.
Skyrim vs Dark Souls? I..I just can't  It's too hard!
vs
How am I supposed to choose between the two? They're both very good games. I'm getting them both, plus that $60 Collector's Edition for Dark Souls is VERY alluring.
Heard about that, its looking VERY cool. Might dust off my copy of Oblivion and try it out once its released. To be frank, there is an Oblivion mod that I am way more hyped up for than Skyrim
That mod is Andoran: Prologue (Official website with details here)
Maroxad
Definitely Skyrim, I've been waiting for a new Elder Scrolls Installment for 5 years now. I'll get both day 1, but Skyrim definitely takes priority.

Skyrim, because I don't like to punish myself when I play a game. There are too many things in life to get stressed over and I don't want a game to be one.
i don't know, but do you really believe oblivion is a 1.5/10[QUOTE="Vinegar_Strokes"]
[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] How come there isn't for Demon's Souls?DragonfireXZ95
That still doesn't explain why there isn't that many for Demon's Souls, but a ton for Oblivion.
As I said, Demon's Souls was a PS3 exclusive, and Oblivion was a huge multiplat game. Why would Demon's Souls not have more negative user reviews considering all of the Xbox fanboys out there?
Actually on consoles, oblivion was only on X360 when it first released with no announcement that it'll be coming to PS3.Also, it somewhat could support the notion that PS3 fans are more vocal (i.e. more fanboyish) than X360 fans. They used to create petitions to boycott companies if they release a game on X360 (even if its coming to PS3 as well).
Who on earth didn't vote for Skyrim ? :O
Mozelleple112
I didnt vote for skyrim.
Why? Because it looks terrible. I just couldnt handle the slow mo finishers, removal of attributes, awful looking combat (better than the combat in Oblivion's though), dragons picking up giants like they were nothing, dual wielding spells, developer's obvious ignorance of the term diminishing returns, removal of skills, infinite dragons, weak looking dialogue system, iphone UI, romances, supposed auto aim, and boring looking environments. Then again I dont think I am touching anything developed by Pete and Todd again.
Edit: Looking at that list, no wonder why people call me nitpicky.
Demon's Souls is one of the best games of all time. Why would I want the Skyrim? I look at the trailer it looks almost laughably bad, the graphics look fine but the rest looks like garbage.

I don't believe oblivion is a 1.5/10, because i believe oblivion is a 1/10. problem?

I prefer Dark Souls kind of gameplay over Skyrim's kind of gameplay.

Dark Souls and is not even a contest for me.

This. I don't even get why people would think skyrim will be goty. Lol Bethesda is garbage. f them.
... and u bethesda fans. Sorry if too harsh. I just help it. Bethesda is just too much of a big garbage.
I can have lots of fun with Bethesda games, especially Elder Scrolls. Sorry you can't, but if it's fun, it's good. They could be better, sure, but show me a game like Elder Scrolls with better gameplay, graphics, scale and animation. Please do.Skyrim hands down; I have never made a special savings for a game before. I am totally stoked about this game!

Missed out on Demons Souls at its release. Recently my brother purchased it for about 20 euro and it's strangely addictive. I started out with a female thief and only made it through the first two parts of the small kingdom so far.
For some reason it makes me want to play Dark Souls at launch. Oblivion and Fallout 3 were very interesting too, but they were open world and open world comes with lots of issues. Oblivion had a broken RPG leveling system, and they both made me feel like I was so free to go everywhere that I wasted many hours trying to do impossible things or wandering around in empty area's. I suppose fans would say that it's a good thing, for me it felt too 'loose'. Also, the world of Skyrim, while technically very impressive, looks a little too generic for me. I will definitely buy Skyrim at some point, but for now I think I am more interested in seeing the monsters of Dark Souls.
Oh and I think Skyrim will be qualitatively the better game, but not my preferred game.
