It's still probably the top title for me released so far. This or Dark Souls.

I have difficulty justifying that one person's review makes a game a flop when it receives top marks from just about everywhere else.

I think that goes to MW2. Think of the potential that was MW, and how it turned to crap with MW2.Mr_Cumberdale

I just want to meet the people that wrote the plot to the last 2 games. The russians invading the the east coast of the US? The Russians launching a suprise attack on all of western Europe and reaching Paris in a day? Jesus ****ing christ.

Definitely not. Believe me, its not the 10 or OoT killer I thought it may be, but it is an awesome game that is a welcome addition to the Zelda series, even if it dissapoints me in a couple areas. I would say the biggest dissapointment this gen is among RE5 and Metroid Prime 3 for me.

compared to gran turismo? pfft.

ss is not even close, gran turismo was literally hyped everyday for 4 years as the best thing ever. if sheep rubbed everyones nose in ss everyday for year upon year it could have been a contender but without that factor every flop will always be second fiddle to gt5.

gt is flop of all time and it is not even close.

The absolute failure of a review by gamespot makes the SW metagame a joke. Toms opinion on the game is irrelevent.

I wasn't aware this thread was about the score GS gave it. If that is so, then sure, I guess so. I just assumed that since it was a question directed at us, it was our opinion ;). My opinion is its a great game that deserves a 9 (I think, almost done with it).

Resident Evil 5 is a FAR CRY from the maserpiece that is Resident Evil 4. It is a solid game, but nowhere near 4, and likely Revelations.

Twilight Princess was bigger in scale. Lair was bigger in score. Skyward Sword is just your average huge flop.Eponique

Biggest flop commericially too. The game flopped in japan and europe. Dunno about north america but it sold 500k on black friday weekend. I guess that is great but I doubt it will reach twilight princess numbers there either. Kind of sad that this will sell less than all the other zelda games except majora mask by a large margin

If you're looking for Biggest Shock/Meltdown, that would go Twilight Princess.

I think GS was the only site Nintendo forget to pay.

My personal flop of the gen goes to Uncharted 3. I had such massive hopes for it after the 2nd and all I got was the same looking enemies thrown at me every 3 minutes and a main character who has the worste luck in history. Other than that I'd say the biggest flop would be Kinect and Move.

One of the best "Flops" I played this gen.

I hate to break it to you, but Skyrim is also linear for the most part..and i'm saying this as a person who greatly enjoys the game.

Sure,you have a huge world to explore and you're able to do quests/side quests in whatever order...but most of the actual quests/side quests themselves are straight-forward and scripted.

Non Linear is when you're given a objective or quest and offered multiple ways to complete it based on items or character skill/abilities...when talking RPGs......And so far from the 40 hours I put in Skyrim,hardly any of the quests fit this definition.

You wanna bash Zelda...knock yourself out,but know what the f*ck your talking about before doing so.

Eh, if we don't count Duke Nukem Forever.
