tehe... I was kind of going for what I think could be best case scenario. It really all depends on just how far MS is willing to go for great Scorpio sales. I mean if they go for zero profit at launch or gasp, lose money for the first year just to recapture market share and really build the base we could see some real great pricing.

We'll see but regardless, Day One Baby, sign me up for wait for it.... Mighty Scorpio with a copy of RDR2 in hand. lol. :P

That's a really reasonable line of thinking to have for the entire situation. You're actually one of the most logical and grounded xbox fans here regardless of what others may think.

I do think MS is going to try to be competitive in pricing because even at $499 MS is going to be cutting it close with the level of specs they've suggested and putting all that in an all-in-one unit to boot. The fact is that MS most likely have been taking a hit on xbone S as we speak selling the updated unit with updated GPU and UHD drive as low as $250 this holiday.

To be honest I think $499 for what Scorpio promises is a really good price but I don't think MS can take a hit of anything less that that producing a full system. People seem to forget that consoles aren't simply GPUs that plug into a TV, they are entire systems...

Food for thought: AMD's R9 390X is 5.9 TF of power, a card that has been compared to what might be in in Scorpio for performance estimates running at 6.0 TF.....is around $450 USD. for the card alone! People expecting Scorpio's price to be $399 or less are a bit too delusional.

@casharmy.... Coolness my friend. We're pretty much in agreement though I still think since these mid gen consoles don't need controllers if you own the OG console then getting it to $449.99 without a included controller may be the sweet spot.

The PS4 Pro is a premium product. The PS4 Pro cost more than the PS4. The PS4 Pro cost $400. The Scorpio is going to be a premium product just like the PS4 Pro but be released a year later and IS NOT double or more than double the performance of the PS4 Pro but for some reason people believe its going to be $500+ on launch date. That reasoning is devoid of critical thinking.

They're basically helping to market the Scorpio. Once the Cow's friends ask them why they thought the Scorpio would be $700, the $399 will look like a great deal. It's actually kind of funny to see Lems belly ache about this subject, because the Cows are helping them ultimately.

Anything over $500 is kind of silly even to estimate. A $500 "premium" console can exist right along side a $250-300 regular console without any problem.

I hope they let you put Windows (or 3rd-party OS) on it. Feels like a missed opportunity otherwise. If you're going to spend as much as a computer, you might as well be able to use it like a computer.

They'll definitely be 2 models of the Xbox, one will be the Scropio and the other will be the Xbox S. Makes no sense to have 2 models of Scorpio along with that S and also the standard console as well.

I believe by the time Scorpio releases the Xbox One S will be selling for $199 so Microsoft will price the Scorpio at $399. That will be selling the hardware at a premium price compared to the Xbox One S. You heard it here first!

Ummmmm... Did one of the biggest Sony fanboys just call the CPU in the Xbox One S shitty when it is the same fucking CPU that is in the Sony Slim and Pro they praise to all mighty hell! Hell to be honest both consoles have shitty GPUs/CPUs compared to what is out now including the Pro!
