MS will fix RROD for free even if you don't have a warranty. Just send it in. No matter how many times it happens. In fact, if it happens more the once your repairs get priority and it only takes a week. Good lord, at least try and learn whats going on instead of making baseless assumptions.

If the ps3 is only 4 million behind with the 360 year lead and a price handicap that's very impressive imo. Most people were saying the ps3 would fail here for years. I knew sony would come back but nintendo was a shock I knew they would sell because they were the cheapest but not like this.

Really the 360 has broken sony's strangle hold on the console market so from that point it's a moral victory but at this rate the 720 has to be a option for ms. The xbox brand is a money pit only ms could lose billions just to say hey we are slowly improving in a couple gens we might be the console leaders.

You don't seem to understand that listening to people talk about the console in this light for those of us that were gaming long before MS was a console maker is crazy because it seemed unlikely that they would even survive the first two years. It seems like you don't have an appreciation for just how much they have changed the equation.

I agree with renegade, I've gamed since NES as well, and was a PC gamer long before that (street rods and space quest FTW), Microsoft just throws money at things they want to get into, that's one of the main reasons they're still in. As for creative games, they've done some decent PC games but not a lot more than that :

I too have been gaming since the legacy systems ( that atari 2600) and I think you guy are dead wrong about creativity. They have been supporters of plenty of new games over the last 7 years all to try and separate you from your money. You know, MS does not grow money on tree's. There is a reason they are rich. They are a brutal and unforgiving competitor, I don't like but I respect it.

So when the NES came out for me it was not old school gaming but the next generation system. Ninty has been less creative then MS. New controllers don't make new games.

I get the feeling rengade was playing the NES in 1994 and thinks that counts as "gaming since the NES".

Well here's the thing. Gaming on PS3 is basically like gaming on PC Wii there is no comparision. Live is superior but PSN is free and it does what I want it to do. PS3 gets basically the same third party games as the 360 with the exception of a few. Also I like Sony's first party games better.

Gears has a ton more widespread fans across the globe and it isn't just a generic game like Resistance is, Halo Wars will sell regardless, just because of the brand name. Fable 2 is only improving on Fable 1, which was a solid game, and Banjo looks promising though I don't exactly love the direction it's going in. LBP will not be a system seller, PS3 has no widespread appeal, all of the casuals either play Wii or 360.

The PS3 is the king of creativity now? The only game remotely creative is LBP. It haven't played that yet. I have played Viva Pinata, and that game was very creative. Millennium_King
