Gears is way to rough, screen tearing, jaggies on everything and very noticeable. I will say the textures are nice but overall it dosent hold a candle to KZ2. Kz2 is solid smooth great textures, Character models, Weapon detail ect. KZ2 also dosent struggle with framerate issues. Its a 60 million dollar game, the perfect console shooter period. PS:KZ2-MP>>>>>>>>>>>>GEOW2MP.djsifer01Lol talk about making false claims,Geow 2 has no screen tearing and even if the engine technically doesn't support MSAA it does a good job smoothing the edges and gettting rid of the jaggies,KZ2 has no great textures, and gears2 doesn't struggle with framerates and KZ2 is not solid 30fps game and i can prove it unlike you.

Yeah right. I was just playing kz2 through again today after Gears 2 yesterday and realized how much KZ2 makes Gears look like a complete joke. Seriously the game not only looks better in every facet, but theres just so much more going on its rediculous. Gears has small scale crappy battles where as kz2 is a warzone almost constantly.

HAHAH some of the battles near the end of gears go into the low 20's and teens fps wise. I never notice drops in KZ2. This is someone who plays pc games with a frame counter running in the corner. I know what 20 and teen fps look like. BTW kz2 does have some great textures (not all of them but there are some) but only someone who hasn't played the game would claim something like that.

Good to know i have KZ2,and Geow 2 doesn't drop frames at all at the end, and unlike you i can prove that KZ2 isn't solid 30 fps it drops frames even with few guys on screen, but you have KZ2 signature  here's your proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3ar2Uo1_cc&feature=channel_page it drops down to 24...
Both games are great looking but for me Killzone 2 is a little bit better in graphics and a lot better in effects (explosions, lightning...etc), try watching the lens of truth comparison in HD

I think that video has been linked 3 times now, maybe more.
However, apparently, no one cares.
[QUOTE="Ragashahs"]which is a solid opinion. personally, i think RE5 is the best looking console game out right now.if your arguing on a visual appeal/art style way i can see yoru point but saying RE5 is superior on a technical level than KZ2 is like saying uncharted is technically superior than crysis. the animation in RE5 are horrible and are literally taken from RE4, the lightening is meh at best, RE5 also lacks the subtle detailes that KZ2's enviornments has. again if you liked the more colorful vistas RE5 showed off and the mood it creates i have no problem with you saying RE5 is more visually appealing but superior on a technical level noKZ2 is technically superior to anthing on console right now plain and simple and don't hide behind the the opinion argument cause you know that a cop out. from animation, to lighting, to physics, and just overall detail KZ2 simply has the best of everything who knows what the future hold but right now KZ2 current console graphics king

The fact you're having to make stuff up now proves you're in major damage control mode.
Playedthem both, very little difference between either of them if one is superior graphically..it's not by much.
[QUOTE="Camer999"]Yea if you want[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] horde is what? at most like 12-15 enemies on the map and its at multiplayer graphics quality. WHich don't tend to look as good as the campaign. Killzone 2 has just as many enemies on screen to be quite honest. Neither game is really impressive in terms of its scale. Atleast not for there respective genre. jg4xchamp

Saw that already, I know KZ2 one ups GEOW in Lighting/particle effect, but what about textures? Draw distance and stuff going on on-screen.
Are we talking future games as well? Cause i would like to direct everyone to God of War 3. Epicness confirmed. It has got heaps of enemies on screen, and the background always looks beautiful and busy. Awesome Graphics and Gameplay (no it's not a button smasher, anyone that thinks that i DARE you to try button smashing on TITAN difficulty + I am going on how the previous games were, and there wont be a huge different in style in the 3rd) are an awesome plus!
Yes, Killzone 2 relies on cheats and tricks to look good, uses a ton of motion blur to cover up horrible PS1-level textures, blahblahblah, *insert more generic overused criticisms* and anyone who thinks it looks better than Gears 2 is a cow, fanboy, etc. Floppy_Jim
plus its enimies are tiny.
i mean, look at the locusts.
how can a videogame with such tiny enimies be better?

I own a ps3 and 360 and to be 100% honest, there are 4 cosnole graphics king atm at least for me (Killzone2, Gears2, MGS4 and Kameo). I find all those games to be on the same level graphically, all very beautiful.

YES! thank you, you are one of the only people I have met in this forum that have truly appreciated Kameos true beauty and wonderful graphics.
Glad to see someone else who appreciates Kameos graphics, simply amazing graphics for a launch title :)
If i had to pick one graphics king for each console it would be PS3 = Killzone2 and 360 = Kameo, i find both those games to just just amazing graphics by consoles standards, both just beautiful to look at.
I personally believe Folklore rivals that of Kameo, but I guess its just my opinion. Why? They don't even compare textures...GeoW's strongest point...instead they cover how your bullets look when they hit a wall. :|I quite like this comparison

Why? They don't even compare textures...GeoW's strongest point...instead they cover how your bullets look when they hit a wall. :| Most people here give textures to Geow2, geez. But there is alot more than that to judge graphics off of. And KZ2 really does everything well. While Gears has textures galore but it misses the mark in so many other areas, like the effects and damage from bullets hitting a wall, lighting, particle effects, weather effects, explosions, enemies on screen and on and on. I mean KZ2 produces basically the same experience in MP as it does in SP, that is definitly not something that Geow2 does, and KZ2 should be given credit just for that alone, while having 32 players playing and bullets everywhere and explosions going off everywhere. Its quite impressive and really puts alot of people off on the game cause of the amount of stuff going on at once. It is War Perfected :)4th time it's been linked.Irick_cbAlso full of bias and they have no idea of what they're talking about, they should leave the comparisons for the big boys of Digital Foundry that at least knows and understand about this.

You're mean. You are a mean person.
I happen to like those effects and think they play a large part in the graphical immersiveness of KZ2.
