So Red Dead Redemption looks just as good as Uncharted 2?!?!(new video)

I cant believe how good this game looks,amazing.IMO just as good as UC2,vistas look even better,animations are top notch and the game is just MASSIVE.:shock:

yeah frames drop a bit for sure. i wonder if its just the video or if the game will actually be dropping frames this frequently.TheMistique

It wasnt like that on Live,but i have read the previews that state frame rate still dips a bit when alot of action,but they will fix it.Midnight Club LA came with no frame problems hope this wont because it looks beautiful.

I dont want to start fanboy war,its just what you guys think.I mean this is the first game since UC2 that really has such appeal its crazy.Textures look phenomenal for open world game,game is MASSIVE,environments and vistas are some of the best i have ever see,animations are sick...everything looks so ambitious that it could very well give UC2 run for its money.

Engine does not matter.RAGE is very advanced engine,and GTA4 was first game made by it,but RDR is less populated and is more "emptier".Also i think R* San Diego are better when it comes to graphics then R* North.I mean this video says it all,to bad alot of people are not hyped :(

Well, it certainly made me :shock: when I first saw this trailer. UC2 never. I'm still up in arms because it's a really close call. The frame rate drips look really bad though, sometimes looking around the 10fps mark, but overall from that trailer I think it's going to be a close contender.

Oh man its rated M. Never gonna be able to convince me mom to let me get it. :(. I was really hyping this game too. (My mom sees anything violent and freaks. Especially GTA style games. Oh, and she'll do research if I ask her and find out that it was made by the same company as GTA. Maybe I'll be able to get it on XBLM eventully.tehsystemwarior

It's weird, Giantbomb was talking a bit against this game, yet everything I've seen of it screams "awesome".mythrol

You are right...Table Tenis...:)Yes,no way RDR looks better then UC2 in screenshots,but when you see both gameplays,its extremely close.One is much larger with amazing feel of scale and one is intelligently made linear game with much details and great art style,but IMO its still close.

That's true. Uncharted 2 probably has one of the best artstyles in a game to date. But I think RDRs open worldness will give it a few pros against UC2s general linearity. I'll probably wait until I've sat down infront of my TV, having a hands on session before I make my final judgment, but so far, I personally think RDR > UC2, just. :P

i wouldnt say it has better graphics then uncharted 2. but its definitely more impressive. any game can have good graphics if its as linear as a hallway lol

Graphically, I would disagree since U2 was sort of built for graphics and 60fps frame rates. RDR is still a day one buy for me, and the awesome enemy reactions (such as limping when shot or grabbing an injured arm) are a toss up from the basic "shoot until dead" enemies of Uncharted 2.

I'd find it hard to believe an open world game looking better than a linear game (on the same platform).

SPYDER0416, Know i realise that you havent played U2, as the game features Animation Blending, a technique created by ND to add layers upon layers of animations, seemingly adding animations that arent limited by the amount of animations created by theanimators. The game looks really good, but I'm starting to think all these "BETTER THAN UNCHARTED OMG" threads are made by people who have never played Uncharted. Seriously. I could care less if it looks better than Uncharted 2 or not, as it looks phenomenal either way. The fact that it is an open world game and looks this good is especially impressive. I am just going to go ahead and say that it looks better than anything else on the cards right now for me. Not just visually either, but just the game itself as a whole.

Bus-A-Bus, you obviously havent played U2 as the levels are very large in scope, since the draw distance is fantastic, without actually displaying low res textures like RDR generally...Threre are also moments when there are 20+ A.I. at a given time...

I've played and enjoyed Uncharted 2, but it didn't amaze me graphically. Animations were great, but that's due to the developer, not the hardware. If I remember rightly SOTC had better animations then most Xbox titles. Uncharted 2 looked too cartoony for my liking. RDR has a huge open world by the looks of it, pretty decent texture work, incredibly detailed character models, random AI encounters, ect. RDR just impresses me way more then UC2. But like I said, I'll wait until I have the game infront of me before I make my definite decision.
