PC is SUPPOSED to be more expensive than console gaming, thats why consoles exist in the first place, they provide cheap entertainment. Sure I can't build a gaming pc with 300$ I need at least 200$ more but thats just the way it is, 299$ ps3 is obviously better than a 299$ pc theres no denying that but thats the thing about consoles they're cheap, pc gaming isn't as cheap its its disadvantage. But comparing a PS3 to a good gaming rig (500$ at least) blows the PS3 out of the water.

Well i am sure you could build a Walmart style PC for 299$ that would run 2000 or older games lol so i chose Ps3 of course.

I play on both pc and 360, and I say ps3.

1. Blu-ray player.

2. Most upcoming pc games are multiplat anyways.

3. Local coop.

I would only say pc if you are really into rts or mmorpgs.

I would rather save my money than buy a $299USD PC, especially when comparing it to a PS3.

My type of PC would range from $1000 - 1600 AUD.

Find me a 600euros ( a great gaming pc at that price) PS3 that i can surf the net, download stuff, encode videos, store my photos, edit my videos, use word and exel, use C++ for my college programming lessons, rip my audio cd's to mp3's, connect my smartphone, watch pron , record tv, use google earth, burn cd's and DVD's and the list goes on and on and on and on. Instead of a 300 pc why dont we show you a 700-800 euros pc a pc 300euros nore expensive than your standart 400-500euros dell or HP pc

I can't find the CPU on that list (the Rams coming up twice though, intentional?), does it come with the motherboard or something?

Also do any extra fans and what not come with the cases? Or are they just not needed?

PCs are better, you can get the ps3 which is argued more powerfull (at the £299.99) but then your still only getting a ps3, the one that performs worst at the majority of mulitplats to the 360, the one with a poor online community, the one that boasted home would be the be all and end all.

You like PC gamers dont get it.. we know consoles cant offer same visual quality as a PC, however its you that need to understand PC gaming is MORE EXPENSIVE..

Pc fanboys always try to show that PC gaming is cheap yet when posting pictures for games to prove ownage they utilise the best shots of the best game in terms of visuals (Crysis) running on not a $200, 300, 400, 500, 600 PC but a gaming rig which costs MORE.. and the funny thing that most of the PC fanboys probably dont even play Crysis at those high settings cause their PC cannot handle them :)

thats an opinion, cause for me PC doesnt have games such as GEOW2, infamous,Fable2,Uncharted, MGSIV, Halo3 or upcoming titles such as GT5, Forza3, Uncharted2, Last guardian, Heavy Rain, GOW3 etc etc

So having better hardware is not the same as getting the BETTER THING, we get gaming systems for games and since games are a matter of personal taste then for me PC is not the DEFENITIVE gaming system due to most of titles i like/want are not available on PC..

So i dont question the fact PC offers better hardware but I question everyone who states it offers the best gaming experience cause that depends on the games library or personal taste in gamesand PS3/360 for me are better in that area..

You may have a vaild point that alot of them can not run crysis at max graphics, but then again your assuming that crysis is only the good looking pc game? Half life 2 with it running at super high res and hdr looks just as good as the newer consoles games and thats from 2005 i think. The PC has suppior visuals and scale, the ps3 boasts Killzone2 yet its quite a mud fest and very small. Some PC gamers will say it costs less if you know what yoru doing but then almost every family has a pc and for the most part all it would take is to upgrade the GRFX card and your sorted :)o0squishy0o

Well i find it stupid buying a PC for gaming and be able to play current games in Low/Medium settings and probably not even that for upcoming titles being released next year or the following..

Its like having a $30000 budget and buy a Porsche body for $25000 and with the remaining $5000 buy a Honda V-tec engine cause you couldnt afford the real deal.. Its a Porsche from the outside but its not a Porsche in terms of performance..

So in order to claim ownage on console people, i buy an $299 PC which plays games like sh** while others play PC games on much more expensive PC's at max settings as they were meant to..

This is why this whole debate is entirely redundant.

Console gaming if you're on a tight budget.

PC if you want to be where the state of the art gaming tech is.

However, the lines have blurred somewhat since PC hardware costs have reduced significantly.

i think the main point of my post was because people are boasting about the cheap price like its teh awesomes.. it is i guess to you lot but sony i doubt will make money of the console because its worth more than what they are selling it at. PLus its a ps3 ;) LOL o0squishy0o

well many wont agree, but in all honesty PS3 at $299 is one hell of a good deal... i got mine back in 2007 for Eur720.00 :(

But $299 for a great gaming console, which also offers a good Online Service, has Wifi & is also a Blu-ray Player is great value for money.

now i can understand people not liking PS3 or Sony but surely one cant say $299 isnt a great price for the 'whole package'..

Gamefly is amazing.

For $20 a month I have two games for as long as I want, and the value never ever goes down. I get sick of the game, I get a new one flat out.

I would miss so many games if it wasn't for Gamefly. I don't have time to play the same games over and over again. I beat a game once, maybe twice and thats it. Then it sits there collecting dust because something new came out.

I only purchase great multiplayer games, or really cheap single player games, or games from developers I want to support outright. Usually the ones who treat the PC good.

Gamefly is an amazing service for the gamer who wants to try everything, with a limited budget and time.

Before Gamefly it wasn't uncommon for me to rush out and buy 2-3 games a month at $60 a pop. Then after I beat them they would sit there, or be sold off for a fraction of what I payed. That seems a lot more brutal then the $20 a month I spend now. Plus they let you buy games from them if you want. Usually I can keep a newly released game for $35 or less if you like it. Factor in the 20 a month and you payed about the same as at Gamestop. Except you got to make sure you liked the game first. For as long as it took.

Well i find it stupid buying a PC for gaming and be able to play current games in Low/Medium settings and probably not even that for upcoming titles being released next year or the following..

and it's not only about settings. Consoles on a whole are cheaper on first buy, but then everything costs more, from games, to XBL's fees, ending with accesories (which you have to rebuy each gen most of the time). Consoles are cheap at first, but unlike PC they bleed you out regularly later on.

Ask yourself: if consoles are so cheap, then how come they're popular only in the few richest countries, while PCgaming dominates everywhere else?
