So...Which System "Won" 2014?

Happy New Year! 2015 will, (Hopefully), be the year of games. Should be great.

That being said...Which 8th gen system won 2014? Which system, by the end of the year, was the most "must have" system with "must have" games?

I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but, Wii U...All the way. Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros. Mario Kart 8, DKC; Tropical Freeze and more. Exclusives wise at least, Nintendo killed it this- er, last year. I expect them to do the same in 2015.

If we're talking about consoles, everybody knows Wii U won. Whether they are willing to admit it publicly is another matter.

inb4 lemmings come in this thread, trying to argue that Sunset Overdrive+yet another Forza made Xbone the winner.

In terms of exclusives it's a toss up between PC and Wii-U

Wii U if you're not counting PC.

PC wins everything so its not really fair to even consider it.

PC: Because of superior multiplats and Exclusives.

Among consoles, when it comes to just exclusives then Wii U.

Most multiplats sucked in 2014 but some were great too. This year looks a lot better though.

Subjectively, it's a kind of a tie between PC and Wii U but objectively, if we put everything in comparison PC wins.

Are we really counting the Wii U as a console that could possibly win this year? I still see it as a secondary console to be paired up with a PS4, X1, or PC. it argubly had the best exlusives, but if all you had was a Wii U, then you likely had a terrible gaming year.

Considering my purchases throughout the year, I'd way Wii U between the consoles. I didn't factor in PC though.

Some people are extremely delusional if they think all 3rd party devs suck or exclusives are everything. Either that or they've never played anything else and trying hard to convince themselves. Grapes are sour.

PS4 won. Xbone was second. Wii U was dead last.

Sorry, but lets look at wii u's line up....nothing until may 29th when MK8 came out. Same old boring mario kart. Then nothing until Smash 4 came out in december. That is a terrible year.

PS4 had a couple of quality exclusives, the best 3rd party games and tons of indie games. PS4 won. Deal with it.

DK Tropical Freeze, MK8, Bayonetta 2 and Smash Wii U is a pretty big list. Those exclusives beat PS4 and XB1 exclusives.

PC won multiplats while Wii U won exclusives. I'm not sure what lists you are looking at.

I think it's safe to say WiiU stole 2014.

PC gaming? LOL. They don't count. I am only talking about REAL gaming. And wii u's exclusives were vastly overrated like usual as nintendo systems have lower standards reviewed by people blinded by nostalgia.

Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart and Smash 4 are 7/10 games at BEST. DKTF is a 6/10 at best. You cannot convince me Nintendo's mediocre games are awesome exclusives when they are the same old stuff I played 20 years ago on N64 and SNES for DKTF.

At least PS4 had the best 3rd party games among consoles. The best Indies among consoles. And it's couple solid exclusives.

I still stand by that PS4 multiplats>>>>>>PC multiplats. Controller>>>>>> Keyboard/Mouse. And the marginal/minor resolution bump or fps bump is not enough to change my mind on that. And quite frankly the graphics are virtually identical. Sorry, but I really can't see the difference between multiplats on PC and PS4.

I'm laughing at you right now while playing Shovel Knight flawlessly with my DS4 on my PC. Using my PS4 as a rolling tray though, so it's not a total loss.

Why would I use a controller on a PC? I thought the Keyboard/Mouse were SOOOOO much better than controllers? Does that not defeat the purpose of using a PC? LOL

It makes no sense to me to spend $3000 on a PC to play multiplats with minor graphics bump when I can get a $350-400 console that has the exact same thing. PC gaming is only good for RTS and MMO's. 3rd Party multiplats shouldn't even count on PC.

Wii-U won by amount of good games IMO but PC definitely had the best game of the year because of Divinity Original Sin IMO.

PC had the most high rated exclusives and superior multiplats as usual.

I'm gonna go with Xbox One and Wii U on this one. Wii U had more exclusive games releasing this year while Xbox One show promise with it's games and price wise tat help it's sells.
