@clr84651: Nobody is saying PC won sales. They're saying it won in being the best system to play games on. Which is all that really matters.

Trucks are the best for towing and 4 wheel drive vs cars, but then again they're different automobiles. PC are different than consoles and no sales to compare.

That one dumb has **** comparison
X1.. MCC, FH2 & Sunset Overdrive are all saweeetness and could spend the next 6 months or more with just those packed to the gills gaming with content phenoms plus the GTA5 and Destiny multi's I got too... ... Just incredible.
System? PC by miles and miles... but that's every year.
Console? Wii U by miles and miles. The year was absolute crap for the POS4 and XBone.
Quality of multiplats = PC
Sales = PC's (but not fair really)
Games = PC (Elite, Next car game wreckfest, WoW and even though it's in alpha 'Distance' is awesome)
This year though, I might invest in a PS4, got some good looking games that I just neeeed to play.
PC slaughtered the competition this year by a landslide. Console wise pretty much a tie. Wii had better exclusives (not much to choose between XB1 and PS4) but was laughable in terms of overall library.
So PC wins and the consoles kind of stumble into the finish sometime in mid to late 2015.

No it isn't! There are categories/types of automobiles & there a categories/types of gaming systems. Gaming system categories/types are PCs, consoles, handhelds, phones, & tablets. You don't compare any one system from one category with one from another category unless you're an idiot.

PC can't win vs consoles. PC is a different category/type of gaming system. Types/categories of gaming systems are PCs, consoles, handhelds, phones, tablets etc. Each category has a winner. PC has no competition in it's category. Consoles category PS4 is winning. Handheld category DS wins.
@clr84651: I don't see you arguing this when Consolites compare PS4/X1 to PC.
PC is part of system wars, your opinion on the matter is irrelevant
Then start arguing that consoles are better than handhelds and handhelds are better than phones. It's dumb. They are different types of gaming systems. Congrats on arguing PC isi better. Fascinating, but they are different types of gaming systems.

Why do cows always try and achieve victory through exclusion?
Its SW, PC counts vs consoles accept it. You trying to change the rules to suit your needs won't work.

Maybe for his next trick he'll try to argue that the PC isn't one system because of Macs

Flawed argument. PCs and consoles have far more in common than consoles to handhelds, or even to mobile.
@lostrib:
Mooooaaaar flops like MCC please, please, please MS... Freaking compilation Rocks Hard and worth at least twice the price !!!
And don't think for a second I'm kidding, MCC without any online functionality is at least a 9.5 compared to the other crap out there. :P

Eh PCs aren't the same as consoles....and I don't get SW fascination with comparing them.
@LJS9502_basic: A gaming rig can play 95% of the PS4 and XB1 games. A VITA/3DS can't.
Infact, why does the Wii U, which has less games in common with the ps4/xb1 count, but pc which has more doesn't?

So it's game wars?! Because System wars would be a type of game system vs another due to the type.
PC vs consoles is an unequal playing field. PCs don't get designed as a closed loop gaming device built to only play games for one company for about 6-7 years and then a new one gets released. PCs are built in many different ways and types of hardware. So congrats on PC having more games to play.

A Wii U is a console which the PS4/X1 are. Consoles have never been considered a similar product because they shared games. They are similar because they were a machine created to play games. Did the NES share games? Hell Nintendo had the most restrictive third party licenses ever. PCs are not consoles. Consoles aren't handhelds. Handhelds aren't tablets/smart phones.
But if you want to compare a PC then you have to allow that not all PCs are capable of current consoles can do. There is a vast difference between what PCs are created to be. And even with building a gaming PC.....there is no one consensus and thus a difference in performance. You like gaming on a PC....great. I know people love the k/m combos and pouring money into graphics cards. That's great. Have fun. But it seems silly to compare them to consoles which have traditionally never been meant to be PCs. Now they have some abilities....yes. But they are still not PCs.
But my main argument with your post is the shared games as the standard. Nintendo games have never been on competitor's platforms. Same with SEGA, Sony, Nec etc.

No. The architecture on consoles (at least the MS and Sony ones) are very similar to a PC and thats why they share so many games. Is this hard to understand? Its called system wars and not console wars. If its too complicated to grasp or upsets your delicate notions of the PS4 getting smeared over and over please please feel free to post elsewhere.

Forget labels. You're stuck on them. And your talk on shared games is what i said.
The Wii U barely shares the PS4/XB1's library, so why compare them? Why is the WII U part of system wars, if you barely have any games in common to discuss it?
The reality is this. A gaming PC can do almost all the exact same things your PS4/XB1 can.
You can attach a gaming rig to a TV, plug a controller in, use Steam Big Picture mode, download/install your games, press and play them straight forward. Just like on console.
Sure, PC has a ton of other features that make it a better pick, since it's an open ended platform, but you can have the entire console experience on PC. So how are they different? Is XB1 different if i use Kinect to navigate the menus and use in games?
But can you have a mobile/handheld experience on PC? No. Between touch screens controlls, mobility and librabry differences, i can't, for example, experience what my 3DS is like on my PC. Well, not until an emulator atleast.
And discussions on markets are pointless. While many individuals who buy a console are more casual gamers, the majority of sales for games such has Lords of the Fallen, Alien Isolation, The Evil Within, Dragon Age Inquisition, Shadow of Mordor, etc, come from core/mid core gamers. And it's those same people who are coming from consoles to PC.
Did you just miss the growth of PC gaming in the last 3 years? Yes, it still encompasses the E-SPORT gamers, the casual indie gamers, the RTS/MOBA gamers, the mod focused gamers, and much more. But now it gets support from even fighting and japanese games.
Face it, there are no differences from a platform war perspective.
So it's game wars?! Because System wars would be a type of game system vs another due to the type.

You can build a PC with high end speqs and it can last you 5 years, atleast.

You really should read posts before responding to them. It makes you look foolish when your response was already discussed.
As for your logic.....a smart phone can do almost everything a PC can. Should they be considered comparable? I don't see them as a comparable device....but apparently using your logic....they are.
Depends on your definition of console experience I guess which I don't want to argue. I don't see them as the same...and really if you want the console experience it's kind of silly to brag about PC then. You should want the PC experience.
I'm not going to get into market discussions with you as it's beyond the scope of this discussion. Not sure why you brought it up. Nonetheless....gamers are gamers for the most. Yes I will allow the candy crush sage and the like are casual and not really comparable to what I mean by gaming.....but overall I hate slapping labels on people as casual/hard core if they play actual games but the genres differ. I mean I've met people that consider casual anyone who isn't playing an FPS on PC. That's silly.
There are no differences to YOU....to the guy you were initially arguing with...there is. It's opinion. Personally I think it's foolish to compare PC with consoles as they are different mediums but that is my opinion. And this subject does come down to opinion.
Nonetheless, I still take issue with your stance that if games aren't the same they shouldn't be compared. IE first party exclusives. It's just a stupid idea. If we do that.....we can't compare much of anything.
You really should read posts before responding to them. It makes you look foolish when your response was already discussed.
I'm sorry, oh wise one

A smartphone can play pc games, being it indies and AAA games, attached to a TV with a controller in hand, at 180p/60fps? holy shit.
Depends on your definition of console experience I guess which I don't want to argue. I don't see them as the same...and really if you want the console experience it's kind of silly to brag about PC then. You should want the PC experience.
Yes, the "pc experience" exists, only on PC. But like i said, a gamign rig connected to a TV with a controllers, is almost the same. Not point for point, but you the gist.

I used the word casual to refer to the average console/pc/tablet/etc gamer. An individual who buys a small amount of games and doesn't follow gamign news, etc. I don't mean this in an offensive manner at all. I don't considering myself hardcore either. I meant core games ahs people liek you and me. We're on fucking gaming forum discussing pc vs consoles
There are no differences to YOU....to the guy you were initially arguing with...there is. It's opinion. Personally I think it's foolish to compare PC with consoles as they are different mediums but that is my opinion. And this subject does come down to opinion.
And what if lems start saying the xb1 is different because of Kinect, and how they use voice commands and gestures to nagivate and help play games? Maybe the xbox one should be placed in another category has an "all in one entertainment system". Yeah, it plays games, but, you know, it's most a multi media machine. It can't really be put in the same slot has a gaming console \sarcasm
Nonetheless, I still take issue with your stance that if games aren't the same they shouldn't be compared. IE first party exclusives. It's just a stupid idea. If we do that.....we can't compare much of anything.
I didn't say the Wii U couldn't be compared. I'm asking you what you're comparing? First party? How is that different from PC exclusives?
Hey genius, you console is meant primaraly to play games.
Most games on your console are multiplatform.
Most multiplatform games on your console exist on pc.
Most multiplatfrom games on your console don't exist on the Wii U.
So, a gaming pc has more in common with your console than a Wii U has.
Look, just give it up. PC has been part of SW sinc ethe beginning. And now that games are multiplatform is more relevant to the discussion than ever. PC won. Don't try and do what lems tried last gen and pretend pc doesn't exist. Take second place gracefully.
Great to see lots of love for the Wii U...And PC.
Wii U but it took them over 2 years to get the games out.
They won't bring much out next year I don't think anyway.
As of right now as to what we know is coming out PS4 IS going to win hands down, but that's due to Microsoft not showing or giving any dates or confirmation for any games next year so we'll have to see
As of now, we have about 9 Wii U exclusives coming out this year. (2015) With more to be announced at E3, most likely
If your a brand new Wii U owner, you all ready have a crap ton of content available.
What are the 9 games???? if true then Wii U is gonna be flying high, but you do have to remember tho, the Wii U is basically a first party gaming machine so pretty much every game out is exclusive, they have more studio's working on games than any of the top 3, may it be the time, for me to jump into the Wii U next year hmmmmmm I wonder.
So far...
And that's not even E3 yet! Plus Nintendo announces stuff in Nintendo Directs all the time. I expect to see a new Paper Mario Wii U game, and/or an Animal Crossing game for the Wii U this year.
Great year for gamers. ^_^
if animal crossings comes out for Wii U i think I'm in
I can't believe people are still trying to argue about PC being included in System wars
I guess they're tired of fighting for second place and want a shot at first.
@clr84651: too bad, so sad
That criteria of games being the deciding factor to compare systems is BS!
Then why have sales been the deciding factor on here for many many years. And where the F*** is the PC representative at E3 and the other gaming shows?!
