Meh.
I honestly can't say that I'm too excited for it, given that the majority of its value will probably reside in the multiplayer portion of the game, which I have little interest in.
MW certainly did not offer enough in the campaign department, and I strongly suspect that MW2 will follow suit.
I only have one COD game(WAW). im pretty sure Activision is going to be milking the franchise now, so MW2 will most likely be my last COD game unless theres an incredibly huge changelolwotrickroll
This is the best answer that matched perfectly my way of thinking. ;)
MW2 plays & looks just the same as its predecessors.

I wont be buying it. I'll play it at a friends house. They don't need my money for glorified 2002 gameplay.

Yeah, I am serious. Even though CoD came out in 03, the gameplay is still 2002 gameplay same plus health-regen.
I'll be purchasing. MW had some very addicting multiplayer and fantastic story mode as well. I could do alot worse with 60$.
[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="fourseamer4"] Game reviews, user reviews, and sales say otherwise to your worthless opinion.fourseamer4Their opinions are better than your opinions!!11!" Good job there, mate. And there is a vast difference between "accessible" and "totally losing the original focus and blatantly dumbing it down" You're stating a fact that the series has gotten worst while the majority favors that it's only gotten better. Please go cry in your corner because the game isn't H4rdC0R3 enough for you. Way to put words in my mouth, and I advise you to read the ToS a bit more carefully.
[QUOTE="Verge_6"][QUOTE="2-10-08"]No, a copy and paste design of Cod4 is Cod:WaW. I am confident MW2 will be significantly better than the first.bobbetybobSo, what determines that WaW is a C&P job and MW2 isn't? The fact that WaW is already out... There's half of the point, but you missed the other half.
Quit crying. I've played the original COD way before the console platforms and I still prefer the newer COD's. Just because it's more accessible doesn't mean it's worst. Game reviews, user reviews, and sales say otherwise to your worthless opinion.Ouch. Verge you are wrong, I have to respect you have a different opinion but it is in no way shared by the majority of gamers and sales will again show this. You've yet to prove me wrong. All you have done so far is spout "You're wrong" and "Sales will tell!!!1". You need to use something else now.[QUOTE="fourseamer4"][QUOTE="Verge_6"]
Honestly, if your a veteran CoD player from the PC days (yes folks, that's right, long ago CoD was a *gasp* PC-exclusive series) this game is just a smack to the 'nads. The whole focus and theme (You Never Fight Alone) has been blown to hell by this point, and now the franchise is entering the spin-off realm. How far it has fallen...

Even though I spent countless hours on COD4 MP, I will probably skip this since there are a lot of ps3 games I am more excited for.
Me and my friends play Call of Duty 4 and World at War a lot. It's extremely easy and everything but still fun. I just wish they'd stop remaking the same game every year (and props to Treyarch for actually trying to add new stuff to the game :|)
So yeah I'll buy it.
Sorry but Im not going for round two. I will play it eventually but actually buy it? Out of the question.
yes i'm getting it but this will b my last call of duty game. I can't handle the same multiplayer experience year after year. i loved the 1st modern warfare so much part of my brain kinda needs it to stay alive.
I won't unless it gets a AAA average on Gamerankings.
Edit: On second thought, if MAG gets good reviews, I'm definitely not getting MW2.
I'm not buying it because there are already a ton of great games coming out around the same time. Bioshock 2, The Saboteur, Bayonetta, New super mario bros Wii, Forza 3, and more.
Spend 50$ on a mod? The COD series started to become pretty stale after the first COD (COD 2 was the start of soon-to-be generic junk).
I can see why people are bashing linear fps.. But for an fps game non linear narration can quite hamper the gameplay/story.. look at these god awful games Crysis/FarCry 2... COD is much better than these games even it has the 2002 linear gameplay..
Crysis just places some checkpoints at random locations and puts enemies (with their super sharp guns that can shoot you from a god damn mile) all along the place/route and you die some 4 or 5 times before reaching your destination.. although Far Cry is pretty good... and for FC2 dont get me started. you take a mission from a particular faction and these faction somewhere camping on your route starts shooting at you..wheras the linearity in COD makes the storytelling more important.. This is just for comparison.. although i consider each game to be very good...
OK, so CoD4:MWis the greatest military shooter in recent years and AFAIK still nr1 militaryshooter for forboth ps3 and 360 despite its age and its sequal wich is basicly the same +moar (what else toexpect of a SEQUAL?) and its completely failaccording toyou all
Seriously why whine when you buy a sequal that its toomuch like "that other game". Same game, updated graphics new maps/weapons what else doyou want from a militaryshooter?this isent a platformer where they can just randomly throw in new revolutionary powers and gimmicks
Thinkwe can fill a bandwagon for every page on this forum, hop aboard!
I would rather spend the money with cinemas or swimming pools. In terms of value they are incomparable with cod.
cinema=4 euros a ticket
swimming pool=2 or 3 euros a ticket
A movie shoud take about 1h45
I can spend an entire day in a place with a swimming pool and lots of girls
In comparison i finished cod 4 campaign on veteran difficulty in 7h hours and online means nothing to me
with the 60 euros i spent on cod 4 i could have gone swimming 20 to 30 times or went to the cinema 15 times
i wont.. too much hand holding in CoD games.. too linear/heavily scripted.. i dont like the MP ... the gameplay is very arcade like/run and gun :P cod4 is the last Cod game i will ever buy
I'll be buying it, but I'm not sure if I really want to.
It'll kind of be there, like Halo 3. Like, I have to buy it.
I've turned myself off CoD MP, so I'll actually want to play it when it comes out.
I got seriously burned out on it, to the point where it was boring.
I just hope they were smart enough to get rid of stopping power/juggernaut, because those two perks just got in the way of anyone making any real special clas/ses. Also, Character Customization, I'm looking at you. Bring it to me.
