When do you think the PS 4 price will drop? I think it's going to be long after last gen consoles are forgotten by most of the devs.

What difference does it make whether you spend the $400 now or in a year?

The downside in waiting is inferior graphics. And believe me, a you tube comparison video cannot fully convey the difference.

I don't know of any besides Minecraft. Sure theres plenty of games that make a profit but most seem to be far from being a smash hit.

A game that breaks sales records like Destiny or GTA V what would be considered a smash hit.

But they will eventually spend that $400. They will get more out of their $400 purchase by buying it now than 2 years into the consoles cycle.

No they are smash hits FINANCIALLY.

I prefer games that are smash hits for being a GOOD GAME.

They get to spend that $400 on something useful in the meantime. Not all consoles, stay a their launch price, I said current gen, not PS4 exclusively. The X1 and Wii U both dropped in price.

Also you could save in subscription fees, getting those games at full price.

It's better to use the money for something I need now and buy the console when it's a system worth owning.

Why is that so difficult to get. Everyone was saying the same thing when the Wii U didn't have any games and now it does, I would consider spending money on it.

Here's one of the pc's highest rated games of the year. Out of 711 million pc gamers this game peaked at 48 players.

PC has had its moments can't beat the Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament and Counter Strike days....WOW put the ugly stigma on PC of just a bunch of nerdy basement dwellers who have no life, and now all PC is, is free to play games mmo's and Facebook games with the hopes of getting good console games like Gta, halo, Titanfall etc.

PC is like the free games in the apple and android market place every once and a while there is a cool/neat game that comes out but that's because there is just some much crap thrown at it that something eventually has to stick.

Nothing you just stated has anything to do with scores....

I'm going to assume you were trolling because of the opinions, hyperbole, and garbage stereotypes....but:

1. Whats wrong with f2p and mmo? When some of these games are rated 8-9's (higher than average console), highly competitive with higher skill-caps/ranges than ANYTHING on consoles, and the most played games on the planet: Who are you to say they don't count?

2. You forgot moba, (space) sims, twitch shooter, RTS, adventure, (w)(c)RPG. Nice try though. One of the few goty contenders so far for this year is Divinity.

3. Yes, every once and a while there is a neat/cool game: To the point where no single consoles even remotely can catch up to PC's 8.0+,9.0+ scores. (At both Metacritic AND Gamespot)

4. Most video games are multiplat. Most of these games end up on PC. They are almost always better on PC. Don't ever discuss multiplats when doing an anti-PC post, it's a fucking death sentence.

It is a very bad standard to look at hype as a Measurement of anything, all that Means that it needs a huge ad campaign to be noticed. So Basicly most of the hype around comes from the makers and sellers of the game telling you to be excited. The very difinition of mindless consumer behavior.

Ironically many of the better games on all platforms were rarely hyped on release, a good deal of them were dismissed or simply went outside of public view. But hey the way you state it, it is better to have a game like Lair, that was hyped to high heavens and was a piss poor game, then a game like Deus Ex, or X-Com Ufo defence, you know generally reguarded as some of the best games ever? (One might never have been released, and first recieved acclaim upon release, the other stood in the shadow of Daikatana for most of its Development).

Hype Means nothing, it can not even measure a games worth. A good Hype campaign can make a game sell, but it can not make a good game, go figure.

AAA just used to mean a high budget game with a good studio with high production values, and with advertisement and such. But when talking about scores AAA means any game (could be a low budget unknown studio made game) that scores 9.0 - 9.9

AA = 8.0 - 8.9

A = 7.0 - 7.9

So , we are pretending that games like FEAR , Company of Heroes , STALKER trilogy , Crysis , Witcher , World in Conflict , Starcraft 2 , Shadow Warrior , Shogun 2 , Dawn of War 2 etc never happened .? Lol , OK .
