So...2 years and geow is still the best looking 360 title?

This has been bugging me for a while.

Ps3 seems to be constantly pushing the graphics envelope lately with their upcoming games (killzone2, MGS4, FFX13 all claim to be the best looking), and there doesnt appear to be any stop. As of right now it can be pretty much agreed that the ps3's Uncharted is the best looking console game right now.

360 on the other hand...I can't seem to think of a game lately, or coming up(besides alan wake, which indeed looks good),that is truly trying to push the graphic envelope further(Example: Why is MGS4 being compared to the 360's best looking game, gears of war, which came out 2 years ago?).

Imo, i do not believe there is a difference to the power of the 360 and ps3, but this confuses me badly. why is the console that is apparently harder to be developed for having an outburst of good looking games come up, while for the 360, no game has been able to outshine gears' graphics?

Maybe because the 3 titles you listed have insane budgets? its only natural they would have top graphics.

All 3 titles you listed were announced as working titles before the PS3 launched. Its only a coincidence that they are launching in a somewhat similar time frame. Its not as if some low-brow or surprised titles for the PS3 has just come out that has incredible graphics.

i still have an unopened 360 box sitting on my bed because i can't deside if i want the ps3 or not, at first i thought the 360 was more powerful and the ps3 had small ram, and they are already having you install games on the hard drive (figuer this was a ram issue or maybe blue ray)

And you could say Haze is a surprise game that has incredible graphics(though the gameply seems to be extremely bad).

There have not been any games on PS3 that looks as good either. Ninja Gaiden looks flat out breathtaking in my HD gameplay video and that one comes in June.

Also TC Gears has not been out two years and when it has Gears 2 will be out. Funny because PS3 does not have any games coming out that look as good. None. It would be hard to tell anyways since sony admits to touching up their screenshots with CGI.

Keep in mind Gears 2 will be the best you have ever seen based on their explanation of all the improvements Epic did on the engine for it. It'll make Uncharted and all it's 6 hours of glory crawl back into the half-baked mediocre bargain bin it crawled from.

Kojima stated that he was dissapointed in Sony's hardware. What's that? Dammage control? Why? He knows he has a medicore game and he's throwing Sony under the bus to save his pretentious goof ball story inventor butt.

I'm sorry, but basing your opinion off of something which you havent even seen in gameplay yet, makes no sense to me.

Kojima was disappointed in EVERY console's hardware, he considers each of them to be underwhelming. Despite that, MGS4's graphics has been highly praised in the past few previews of being amazing. i believe you're just in denial.

Unopened? wow I don't think I could do that to myself. Anyways as of right now it seems to me both are pretty equal. I think PS3 may start to take off graphics wise at a noticeable difference maybe next year but it's hard to say. Honestly I don't know what to tell you but for me PS3 was just the better deal as it offered more of the games I am looking forward to and they are not coming to 360.

yah unopened with reciepe sitting ontop of halo 3 game, im going pretty crazy but i have my computer to calm me, i keep coming here and reading and reading but i havn't read anything yet to swade me one way or the other.

Ironic that you say that, yet believe that what a developer says about geow 2 without any videos means it'll look amazing.

lol, not the first thing that stopped me from opening it was trying to find out if i have a falcon, which im not 100% certain, made in 2008, but on the outside it says 203w so it could go either way i hear

after that i just said whats a few more days of waiting to make sure i made the right choice

i have seen videos. it looks like graw 1 with slightly worse graphics. i guess for someone with a ps3 this would qualify as excitement but a big meeehh to me.

I think anyone that crowns Gears or Uncharted "gfx king" needs to play through the entire campaign, and then go play Bioshock. At times Uncharted is gorgeous, when the story goes indoors, the visuals take a hit, there's no going around it, there was also some minor screen tearing. My copy of Bioshock ran without a hitch, and from start to finish is imo the best looking game released to date on a console.dru26

bioshock :lol: even maxed out on pc in dx10 it can't keep up with gears. bioshock looks nicer but gears is a better looking games

I just think certain games do certain things better then others ( Heavenly Sword for exp has the best voice acting and character animation, barely squeezing by Mass Effect imo). I've played through every major console gfx debate game and I feel Bioshock is the best overall package. Too many titles are cartoony in nature to discount Bio, for it's artstyle.

As for PC, I've only seen snippets of Crysis, but can say without a doubt it's the best looking game out there.

Your wrong there isn't one point while playing Uncharted when you feel like the graphics aren't the best your have ever seen. Its almost universally recognized now that Uncharted graphics offers the best graphics on consoles to date. Far as realism Bioshock looks more realistic and is alot more immersive. I've beaten all the games you've mentioned and Uncharted is the most beautiful of them all, but Bioshock is the most immersive game out this gen.

So far Uncharted is my favorite PS3 game and Bioshock is my favorite 360 game.

i still have an unopened 360 box sitting on my bed because i can't deside if i want the ps3 or not, at first i thought the 360 was more powerful and the ps3 had small ram, and they are already having you install games on the hard drive (figuer this was a ram issue or maybe blue ray)

but im starting to think the 360's days are numbered, they have the best games out it appears(games are the only appeal to me), but as you mention ps3 has a pretty nice lineup coming. ive seen the mgs4 trailer and i didn't really think the graphics were noticeablly better than anything else thow.

what i have noticed overall is that the charactors in the games are uber graphics, while the things in the background are kind of lame looking, thats something im starting to look at more and i windowshop which system i want.

i have read alot of talk about developers having to learn how to take full advantage of the ps3 and im guessing they are starting to learn it and would be why games might start to look better

I'll admit I like my PS3 better than my 360, but I haven't seen anything that shows the PS3 offers far superior graphics. Even though I think Uncharted graphically is the best, looking at the game I'm not entirely convinced it couldn't offer the same grapchical appeal on the 360. Multiplats look about the same so far I think the graphics are a wash right now. I think the PS3 offers more potential, but I doubt we'll ever see a big difference between the 360 and PS3's graphics as we saw with the PS2 and Xbox graphics. Their both good systems and right now the 360 has the better games, but after this year the PS3 will have caught up.

People arguing about which system offers the better graphics is like arguing which one is better Mercedes or BMW.
