[QUOTE="LovePotionNo9"]If they like the games, I'm guessing that they feel they don't need sales to tell them that the game is good. And as such they probably feel as though they have minds of their own and don't have to follow the hive mind.OhSnapitzWhich is why COD is killing all other sales on the PS3.. :| Actually because it's multiplat how could it be killing PS 3 sales when it's on the Ps3? have fun with gears and Just dance.

Obviously a milion isn't a lot. And the sales of PS3 exclusives make the games worse because they just do. I cringe every time i play a PS3 exclusive that has sold less than a million knowing it would be so much better if it had sold a few more copies. /S
Someone said earlier in this thread about PS3 gamers having too many choices to choose from. you know whats funny? I can't choose between all of these exclusives. Should i buy GOW? Jak and Daxter? Ratchet and Clank? Sly Cooper Killzone series? Resistence series? Should I try LBP? Or maybe I should give Starhawk another chance. Journey looks decent for a Digital game. I heard Demon's souls was great. Twisted Metal is supposedly a lot of fun. I tried Infamous at my friends and it was a lot of fun and i'd like to buy it.
Honestly, I can't decide from all of these exclusives. When i had my 360 All i could choose from was Halo, Fable and Gears for action games. yay, three series and i didn't even like Halo 3 and any of the Gears games.

also, most sony exclusives sell over a million copies, heavy rain, god of war 3, killzone 2, a million people isn't alot anymore?

Lol denial at its best. Ps3 fans have too much to choose from...so the buy...NOTHING? You realize the 360 has the largest library of games right? Largest library if games with high scores and best sales? Sales don't mean everything but generally things sell for a reason. The ps2 didn't sell well because it sucked, same with the 360. People need to realize the 360 gets tons of games not available on the ps3, like pc games that the ps3 doesn't get. While they are not true exclusives they are a huge advantage for 360 gamers.i like how theres not a single lone multiplat that only has (PS3) in brackets ....soo many games on ps3 its called even distribution....if you add up total sales of all games on a system, you will then know ps3 exclusives destroy the nothing thats on the 360.PinnacleGamingP
I don't think it works like that, considering most multiplats sell better on 360...
I don't really understand this post, but then again I don't really understand the logic behind any of your posts.
Hint: You have to be an actual core gamer to care about exclusives, and the core gamer is a dying breed.
You are being replaced by a slower, dumber and less savvy consumer and you enter this era of piss and crap with cheers and the sound of clapping. The same reason the gaming industry gets away with charging you for online, day 1 DLC, "episodic content" and "Premium game service".. You answered the question in your own OP. Take a look at the biggest selling game and now you know who is playing on the consoles.
The console gamer market got so split that we don't see anywhere near the variety of games we did when there was a clear game console that catered to the core base as well as casuals. It made developers actually have to try to come up with innovative or special software. Now, you just choose a platform and piss all over your customers for as much money as possible. and it's not like you're going to see any of the gaming publications say a peep about it when companies are willing to throw money out the window to promote peripherals and such.
[QUOTE="Miketheman83"][QUOTE="campzor"] please list a ps3 exclusive which has an 8 hour campaign with no multiplayer... besides uncharted 1 , god of war 3 and the ratchet and clank games.. ill be waitingcampzorHeavy rain God of war Infamous ratchet and clank Metal gear solid All these games are short with no online functionality. They would have fit in better last generation. On top of it the main emphasis of these games is on presentation and not gameplay, thats why nobody buys them. What really good multiplayer games does the ps3 have? Killzone? Resistance? Give me a break. Those games stew nothing compared to multiplayer games available on the 360 like hearts, left 4 dead, halo, forza and splinter cell. heavy rain - ok god of war - i already said that infamous - not 8 hours... more like 12-15 for 1 playthrough ratchet - already said metal gear solid 4 - has online...and its fun..(though its dead now...IT WAS FUN) mp games for ps3? Motorstorm LBP Wipeout HD GT5 granted imo all the best mp games are multiplat (on the hd twins)
just because you named them doesn't mean he shouldn't add them to his list
also, you both forgot heavenly sword
PS3 owners don't usually buy a lot of games to beging with. Even multiplats fall short on the PS3 on sales and it's not because everyone has an xbox they just don't like games as much as the xbox players. They do sell just not like xbox games. I my self never bought a Killzone or infamous or grand turismo for example. But i did get Metal Gear 4, heavy rain and little big planet.
I've said it once.. xbox players really really really love games... you can easily satisfy them with almost anything. and Wii owners most of the time don't even finish their Mario game they just buy it and leave it in the corner to have something to play on the Wii when they feel like playing it or have someone to play with.

if you wanna see if exclusives sell or not, you cant look at that list. because its either adding all 3 console sales of multiplats together which in that case is ridiculous to compare with a single platform game exclusive. or its saying all 3 versions are selling at that rate separetly which would make the order of that list wack because all three versions of for example Game X would not all be in 5th place. then you have other multiplats which only have one console (360)in brackets, which makes even less sense, but basically means 360 multiplat sells better, because it has no games.what im saying is, you dont see one single multiplat with only PS3 in the bracket, so who says multiplats sell better than the ps3 exclusives on a single system?? No one can.
 there are more games on ps3, so obviously individual sale number will be less. The 10 most popular games in a list comprised of multiplats in Sony's weakest reigon aren't Sony games......Christ, this is a head scratcher.Floppy_Jimthank you, good to see you still setting the record straight floppy, especially with the likes of williamRLbaker opening the comments section in this thread along with neonninja above attempting the finishers.

Maybe, maybe not. If you go on Wikipedia and check out the sales of PS3 by regions, you would see that Europe (16M) accounts for more PS3s than US (13.5M). Granted those numbers are from 2010, but the overall pattern I believe should probably be the same even in 2012.

Those numbers are suspect at best but even if we believe them.. It's by maybe 2-3 million that's certainly not enough to state "weakest region"..[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]The 10 most popular games in a list comprised of multiplats in Sony's weakest reigon aren't Sony games......Christ, this is a head scratcher.OhSnapitzI believe the U.S is Sony's strongest region.. :| It certainly not Japan considering the total number of sales and software. No, Europe is strongest. I'm not talking about total numbers but in relation to the competition as you were doing in the first post. Sony has always had less presence in the US than the 360 & Wii.

i think you are missing the point, he's saying that there are 360 exclusives in the top ten but no Ps3 exclusives, the multiplats are not very relevent, but his could be for several factors, it's the US for starters which is 360 territory so it's not suprising that Ps3 exclusives don't top the charts there and Halo is a bigger franchises than any exclusive franchise on the Ps3.your comparing multplats which are sold on more then one platform to exclusives which are only on one platform? please go before you make a fool of yourself

Since this is NPD you should also take into consideration how many 360s and ps3s are out there in america. 360 exclusives sell better in america because the install base is far larger.exiledsnake
Perhaps but as for 360 exclusives selling better overall? Its a myth that people continue to keep alive.
Why do all people talk about 360 exclusives like everyone of them is Halo? GT5 sold more than all 3 Gears of Wars games. Halo isn't the only 360 exclusive. Kameo, Saints Row, Dead Rising and other former exclusive franchises didn't sell nearly the amount Halo games did. Fable & Alan Wake didn't either. Uncharted 2 sold more than both those games. Really its no different than PS3. Not all PS3 exclusives sold like GT5 and not all 360 exclusives sell like Halo

For the holiday quarter, Microsoft took the lead with 8.2 million consoles sold where Sony sold 6.5 million PS3s and Nintendo with 5.6 million Wiis during the same period." "Fortunately, SquareTrade found that Xbox 360 quality has improved dramatically since the third quarter of 2008, shortly before the 65nm CPU/GPU "Jasper" model was introduced. Since then, first-year failure rates have plummeted to below the 4 percent the company projected. Looking at 500 units purchased in 2009, SquareTrade found that less than 1 percent had suffered the Red Ring of Death." http://uk.gamespot.com/news/xbox-360-failure-rate-237-ps3-10-wii-27-study-6216691 The lead increased by nearly a million units dude, getting fed up with your baseless statements you pull out of thin air quite frankly, like saying the 360 version of Me3 has more input Lag than the Ps3 version despite having a higher framerate, especially when people with common sense know that Lower framerate=more input lag.[QUOTE="OhSnapitz"][QUOTE="Eddie-Vedder"] Replies to a me mocking lems being obsessed with sales with another sales comment  Oh boy.Eddie-Vedder

Only argument they have? Funny, ps3 gets a couple more explosives last year and all of a sudden the ps3 is clearly better. Even though the 360 still gets tons more games (pc games the ps3 doesn't get, more arcade games) and better multiplats. Ps3 fans seriously live in a bubble. Please Log In to post.
