I know, it sucks. I literally can't enjoy a game unless it sells 20 million copies. I have so many games that I bought just laying around. I refuse to even take the plastic wrap off of them before they sell at least 15 million.
I tried playing games before when they didn't sell 15 million plus, and I thought I was having fun, but I went to look at the sales charts and it reminded me that I was in fact not having fun, because the game I was playing didn't sell a certain amount.
Unfortunately, I probably won't ever end up playing a lot of the games I own, because unless they sell 15 million or more, they're just not going to be fun games.
Yeah I know what you mean, when i saw that Resistance 3 didn't sell well at all it suddenly didn't have great gameplay or atmosphere and the weapons instantly became boring because i knew that not many people were enjoying them and how could they after seeing the sales, I don't blame them. The only fun games are CoD, Halo and GTA these days and even then it takes a few days for them to become fun and exciting. Resistance 2 was awesome, cant wait to get R3. The weapons in that game man.....so creative Yeah they are amazing, definitely one of my highest regarded franchises this gen. But after seeing the sales, oh man did the quality of the games suddenly shrivel up and die.
It's sarcastic in case you can't tell, a stab at the sales-gamers :P

The 360 dominates in the USA because of patriotism. Of course the console with more units in the USA will have more software sales.Well, I can't speak for all PS3 fans obviously, but I own/have owned UC1 and 2, Killzone 3, Demon's Souls, MGS4, Infamous, Valkyria Chronicles, LBP, and all three Resistance games. I plan on picking up GT5 XL Edition and UC3 also.
I mean, if you're going to own a PS3, at least use it correctly...

The majority of people that I know (I live in the south, mind you) don't know/care that Sony is a Japanese company.
Also, lol, your post just sounds insane.

Anecdotal evidence is not proof. Of course, my patriotism answer is also not 100% exact, but it sounds more plausible then any of the other answers you guys are giving. The PS3 is superior to the xbox 360 in every way. Hardware and price are unmatched. So why are Americans still picking the 360 while Europeans, Asians and everyone else are picking the PS3?And what's not common knowledge is that lems don't like their exclusives. The more you know. =)Cows don't buy their exclusives. I thought this was common knowledge.

So why are Americans still picking the 360 while Europeans, Asians and everyone else are picking the PS3?"Anecdotal evidence is not proof." OK? As you said yourself, it's not like you came in here with a gaggle of links, spreadsheets, graphs and polls. Your answer is no more plausible than anyone else's. Also, it's nonsensical in that the PS2 and PS1 absolutely murdered everything else that was on the market at the time. Sure, you could blame last gen on the fact that the Xbox was MS's first foray into console gaming, but if the sales of the 360 are all a product of patriotism then it's predecessor should have done better than it did.
The reason the 360 is doing better than the PS3 is momentum. It had an earlier start, the PS3's launch was ruined by misguided decisions from Sony, and since the system started out selling better, it also got a head start on word of mouth.
And, contrary to what one would assume in the battle of free vs. paid, XBL is much better regarded than PSN.

Momentum, eh? So why did the PS3 outsell the 360 everywhere else? It's the reverse only in America. Sony competed with SEGA and Nintendo during the PS1 era. Consumers weren't buying any American-made product. The PS2 had such a huge worldwide install base that the xbox had no games. Even a patriotic American gamer wouldn't pick an American-made console if it had no games. XBL is only well regarded in America. I don't know if it's because of blind patriotism that MSFT consumers lie to themselves by telling themselves that P2P is better than dedicated servers or some other bullcrap reasoning. The point is that MSFT's lies are only affecting America and America only. Why is that? Could it be that Americans are stupid?

Anecdotal evidence is not proof. I'll give you the PS1 era, that's why I didn't elaborate much on it. However, the point you're trying to make about the original Xbox having no games is ridiculous. The Halo phenomenon started there, as did Fable and Forza. Multiplat presence wasn't great, nor was general third party support up to the PS2's standard. However, that point could be used against you by saying that perhaps the 360's overall larger library is also contributing to it's greater success in America, since that's a big part of what led to Sony's dominance in NA the previous two generations.
Also, it's a fact that Sony has dropped the ball on marketing this generation when compared to Microsoft.
Either way, I'll always be a much bigger fan, personally, of my PS3 than my 360. Still, what you're saying is completely moronic and unproven in any sense so there's no reason to keep going back and forth on this.

So all you have are speculations. The PS2 outsold the xbox everywhere. This is not the case in this gen, as the 360 only outsells the PS3 in America. How do you explain what's happening around the world? Could it be with a near equal catalog of retail games, Americans wouldn't have much of a problem picking what's made in America? I believe it's at 50k more consoles sold worldwide per week for the PS3.So all you have are speculations. The PS2 outsold the xbox everywhere. Cool.
Again, no reason to continue this back and forth, unless you've collected some sort of data that details or proves that 360 is successful due to patriotism. Or at least until you can somehow hope to show that your reason is more plausible than anything I've said. (better marketing, larger library, etc.)
Hint: You can't.

I didn't make a guess. I'm not the one acting like I'm sure that what I'm speculating insanely is true. Therefore, nothing really disproved anything. Stop trying.

Even if you didn't, that little fact disproves your bullcrap theory that lackluster games on the 360 is responsible for the 360 sales lead. Please Log In to post.
