Another Sony is doomed thread again. Why are people so obsessed with it? Sony isn't going anywhere, there will be a PS4, get over it fanboys.

Sony really has to be scared at this point. Last year for this quarter they made a profit and now they are posting a large loss for the same quarter and add that their last for complete fiscal years was large losses each year.CanYouDiglt

Nintendo took a huge loss for 3DS to gain marketshare, that's why it has sold 19m units and is outselling PSV by some factor.

Sony is gonna have to take even bigger losses if they wish to keep Vita relevant, since it's obviously more expensive to produce than a 3DS.

The PS3 is a 7th gen console on the way out, sales are falling year over year and it's still far behind Wii. For instance in the FY11 Wii sold 10m units and PS3 sold 14m, that is with Wii's release schedule being completely barren sans Skyward Sword, compared to Sony's lineup & all the 3rd party stuff. It's pretty crazy.

The bottom line is that Nintendo has invested for the future (it worked wonders in Japan so far, Nintendo has seemingly grabbed ahold of both the market and publishers), Sony is loosing money by doing nothing of that kind (yet), it's business as usual yet they keep leaking money for some reason. I doubt Kaz will go ahead and greenlight "project save Vita" due to Sony's current financial state, though.
