Major price drop plus relaunch coming. I can sense it. That's what this E3 will be about for them.charizard1605Ahhhh a price drop would be sweet. :D
I also remember Sony saying they planned on selling 150 million PS3s by the end of its lifespan (this was back in 2007/2008, when PS3 was still "failing".
I understand being cautionsly optimistic but cot damn.

Since their E3 doesn't seem to be about the PS4, I think you're right. The Vita is an embarrasing failure for them right now; as a major player in the video game industry, they simply cannot let this situation persist and have to make decisive moves soon.
I vote the later. They either have a seious lineup and pricecut under their sleeves or theyre flat out dilusional.

If they do a price drop they damn well better compensate for it as Nintendo did. It's weird how the 3DS could do with a redesign yet the Vita is the console that truly needs it. Remove the cameras, get rid of the 3G models, replace the back panel with two buttons. Cut away the nonsense and keep it as a gaming handheld as it's supposed to be. bobbetyboband replace all of the space with battery.
They drop the price to $100 and make some original games for it, including JRPGs and some action adventure games not ports and we might see it reach 10 million this year...........
I have to laugh at this prospect.
It'll push 2-3 million units max.
Wasdie
It reached 1.8 million didn't it? It could reach 2 million in the next couple months or so....
Either they're overconfident or something big is about to be announced(like price drops or whatever). Either way it would be cool if the Vita got a price drop. Though it doesn't really have enough games that interest me atm and then there are those overpriced memory sticks...
[QUOTE="Shirokishi_"]I just don't see it happening, at least right now. I'd like to get one, but a few games isn't enough to entice me.They either have a seious lineup and pricecut under their sleeves or theyre flat out dilusional.

Major price drop plus relaunch coming. I can sense it. That's what this E3 will be about for them.charizard1605Since they're 8+ million units away from their goal they must have something up their sleeve and LBP/KZ won't sell them that many consoles. Price drop might be it + white color + some awesome games perhaps? They could also go with regular price, but bundle the console with a memory card, although I believe they'll sell more with a price drop.
It's almost at 2 million units. Laugh away.I have to laugh at this prospect.

He's talking about the next FY. 1.8m + 3m = 4.8m. Sony thinks it will do 11.8m
I personally think it will do 5-6 million to total around 7-8 million .

A lot of those sales were from early adopters who would have bought the system no matter what. Other sales won't come nearly as easy.Is that all? Common now.[QUOTE="Wasdie"]

It's selling around 60k units a week ATM and still dropping, even if it stays at 60k a week for the rest of the year it'll only sell around 3.5 million units in total this year.
I really don't see this happening unless there's a decent price drop and Sony has an impressive showing at E3. If that were to be the case, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

It will sell more in the holiday season. The 3DS sold 8 million this holiday season so even if Vita sells 1/3 of that, and you add 3.5 million from the other quarters then you'll get around 5.5 million.
