Didn't they all so expect all gamers to switch over to the ps3 at points throughout the past 3-4 years?
[QUOTE="Modern_Unit"]most wii owners arnt satisfied with amount of core games they are getting so actually they do consider going to either 360 or ps3,, so naturally a wii owner would be inclined to go towards the ps3 because they know that if all fails they can still play the type of games they enjoyed on the wiiRight because they have teh Mario and Zelda? To me the avearge Nintendo consumer is:
"Wow the PSmove, it looks like the Wiimote + nunchuck but without my favorite games"
Havent exactly met a Wii owner excited about blu ray

You obviously don't know much about "most Wii owners". Most Wii owners (especially those the do not post in gaming forums" care about family games and pick-up-and-play games, which are sorely lacking on the HD twins. Now you expect them to shell out hundreds of dollars for a PS3, and the Move, and games? Don't think so.
hm.... i didnt really get that 'we expect wii owners to jump ship' thing from the interview
the sony rep was just marketing the Move, in a surprisinly un-Sony way: by not saying anything stupid
it was a good interview... got the feeling that sony is excited about what Move can accomplish
A Nintendo fan wont jump ship. Only people who aren't a fan of any particular system will be enticed by The Move and it's games.

[QUOTE="Phaze-Two"]
math is hard
300 + 100 = 400
400 =/= 600shinrabanshou
Does that include the price for the sub controller and the 2nd wand you will need to be able to play some games how they were meant to be?
That's my problem and the reason casuals won't flock to the PS3 because of Move. It would be far more expensive than the Wii.
I don't think casuals will flock to Move (or Natal). But I doubt the casual purchaser will think about the need for a sub-controller or 2nd wand.If the PSMove ends up offering a similar gaming experience to the Wii, in addition to it's current features, someone considering buying a Wii for their family, may look at it and think, should I get the Wii or the Wii HD which doubles as a Blu-Ray player.
The "IT ONLY DOES EVERYTHING" advertising will presumably try to drive home this message of "IT ONLY DOES Wii HD TOO"
Although on the whole I think it will have negligible effect on hardware sales.
Entry price is going to be a very big issue for the success of either PS Move or Natal. $400 to get a PS3 + Move Bundle will still be above the casual consumers price point. In this regard I think Natal sits in a very good position; With the rumored slim redesign that will lower the price or keep the price the same and bundle Natal with it. . .I think casuals will flock to it.
Also consider that if people have the Wii, Sony hasn't done enough to show how much MORE the Move can do. I think every agrees that they look almost identical. I think most consumers won't see enough of a difference to warrant a $400 investment in a Sony product. Natal however again is in a better position because it's CLEAR how different it is and will offer casuals a new experience for a cheaper price.
Right because they have teh Mario and Zelda? To me the avearge Nintendo consumer is:

I disagree with what Sony are saying but your arguement is very weak. The upsurge in 'nintendo fans' due to the wii is just a case of 'My neighbour has one, my friends have one, it seemed like fun Ill get one too!'. Thats not exaggerating either. Yes there are plenty of people who bought wii for the brands but most of the casuals didn't.Not happenin', Sony. Without the Nintendo name and brands, you've got no chance in hell.

[QUOTE="Mario1331"][QUOTE="blues35301"] You'd have a point if that was the average nintendo consumer. The average nintendo consumer these days is a 40 year old soccer mom buying shovel ware titles for her kids and the family to enjoy. SilverChimera
i dont even know where half of yall get this demographic from im starting to believe yall amde this up....
Well it may not be all of Nintendo's customers, but a good chunk are people who don't give a **** about video games and just play Wii Sports, Wii fit, and maybe own mario kart.this i could agree with

So you honestly think all these sheep -old people, socialites and whatnot, you really think theyre gonna have paid attention and know what these franchises are? They will undoubtedly have bought it for wii play/ fit. Maybe its only a minority that dont know, but people have bought the wii just for that.Already have a PS3, gave up on my Wii long ago (still got it). So I'm already on board, anyone else?

to me im just seeing you want the best of both worlds and by going to the move your still not going to get it this will never happen in any generation that a gamer would get their dream console ever..its to much pros and cons on each system
[QUOTE="Zaibach"]That is very true. Nintendo have ignored the move to 3D, analogue and now gesture based control schemes and jsut repackage Metroid II: Return of Samus witha new player roster every year.Can someone please tell me what is soo special and awe inspiring about metroid, mario and zelda...arent these the same games people have been playing for about 2 decades?
RABicle
what are you 2 talking about nintendo has the games that families want to play and those are one of them...sony doesnt have any and if they want to succeed they need to have some casuals dont know a damn game on ps3 except U2...yes not the first one but the second one thats how bad it is

also, if you want actual proof... have you checked Mario games sales on the wii lately? you might want to have a look
Well, I am an ex-Wii owner and will be buying a PS3 and Gamecube (and Xbox) before I get another Wii.

I hope those morons stay on the Wii. The last thing PS3 needs is consumers with low IQs bringing down the quality of games.Parasomniac
Ignorant comment of the day. Akin to: "Oh Gosh we can't let new people into our exclusive club! We could want to spend the time to teach them about the best games we have!"
Instead of crying about Nintendo trying to expand it's audience, why don't you let everyone enjoy what they like.

Shes 15, she has a brother who enjoys video games - She's far more likely to have heard about Mario than someone like my dad, uncles, aunties who all own wii but do not know about Mario. Why should they? Theyve had jobs, had more interesting hobbies. Surely the argument 'you need to go out more' would apply to someone who thinks everyone plays video games and have just as much knowledge as them? Im not necessarily saying you're wrong though. I think you misunderstood my argument. I'm merely arguing that the average wii owner PROBABLY does not know about Mario - Taking into account the key reason why wii has sold so exceptionally well.[QUOTE="Mario1331"][QUOTE="Indie_Hitman"] So you honestly think all these sheep -old people, socialites and whatnot, you really think theyre gonna have paid attention and know what these franchises are? My cousin got a Wii for her son a couple years ago, she didn't even know it was made by Nintendo until I told her.
Most of my family don't know that either, its just the little white box that play Wii Sports.

You spoke of a study which, for all we know, took part in a particular area where Mario is advertised like crazy.
So let me get this straight, a wii owner is going to spend 300 dollars for a new console, 100 for the starter pack, whatever it costs for another Move Controller, just to get games in HD? If they wanted HD, they would have bought a PS3 or a 360 instead of a wii. I think its very clear the wii gamer dosent care about graphics.
