I'm sorry but that product is going to fail so badly it's not even funny. It looks terribly outdated compared to the other two motion technologies, the controllers are ugly as sin, and any hype it could be building is getting stolen by Kinect.Theyhave tosell a ton of units in order to get developers to even consider making games for it and I just don't see that happening.

Awesome. If it fails, they'll just try again in the future.

Move will be fine. its a much better product than the wii and natal. it has wands, sub controler and a camera with mic. sony is offering the best of both worlds. unlike kinect it can be used with core games like socom as well. and it can be addapted to existing games like LBP. They will beat MS to market by a month. Move is something for core and casual gamers so they will have an easier time penetrating the market. Kinect has lots of money thrown behind it and lots of marketing so we will see how the public reacts to it. but move will be fine. stop hating.

What needs to be looked at is the launch titles for each add on. so far move is killing kinect in launch games.

How? Since MOVE is a lot like the wiimote but much more precise and accurate, why will it fail? KNOWING how well the wiimote sold? NOT only that, but people who have wanted to see a WiiHD now can thanks to the PS3. Gamers can now experience the wii with HD graphics and hardcore games ALONG side the eyetoy, best of both worlds. WIN WIN! SONY played it safe, MS hasn't...expecially how they marketed it. HANDS FREE for the games MS wants done is a huge gamble and something i don't see lasting.

A star wars game without having anything in their hands, it doesn't seem natural. Move seems to be a perfect match for a Lightsaber game.

A starwars game should had been out like 3 years ago. Hell it should had been out last year with resort.

I'm going to get a Kinect. I know at least 3 of my friends are getting one as well. I have a PS3 and have 0 interest in Sony's Move. Heck I went to a tech conference the other day that had absoluetly nothing to do with gaming and they were showing a video of MS new motion tech. There is tons of buzz out and about on MS' new motion technology. Casuals are going to gobbile it up.

So you're going by hype and marketing and what others think...lol. WOW! MOVE is MUCH more comparable with the majority of games than the EYETOY RIP OFF KINECT. Can't wait to find out how you will RUN in a hardcore KINECT game. Start jogging...on the spot boy! lol

Yeah, because your 3 friends will justify the difference between success and failure of a product  Just because you have zero interest in move doesnt justify other oppinions. Kinect failed BIG time yesterday, even Lemmings openly admitted it. Move is just like Wii Mote, it has minimal chance of failing. Unless it has major delays, defects, and that glowing ball is about to blow up or something, it will easily be successful.

Again I've said this before and I'll say it again. Video games are sold because of "Hype". If everyone is talking about the cool new game or tech that's out in the market then when they get it they are excited and show it to their friends and family. When it's cool tech it's shown on Oprah (Nadal was) or Jimmy Kimble Life (Nadaal was) or at Technology conferences (I saw it shown last week at one). That is how casuals find out about cool new tech and that is why they buy. Natal will sell and it will sell very very well.

this is disgusting and humiliating. all of a sudden system warriors, some of the hardcore elite, are arguing about the better "casual market"? What has nintendo done to video gaming? they revived it in the 80's, and are now destroying it in the 21st century. sad.

Move will be more popular with gamers since a lot of games will be retro fitted for it. Cows will finally get to play with the pointer-based controls that sheep have had for over three years now. They'll finally see why dual analog is a dead format for a lot of games like third person shooters, first person shooters, and action games.

You can see Kinect everywhere and MS is not doing hardly any of that. Kinect is getting displayed everywhere you look because it's new. Yes it's essentaully an Eye Toy I 100% agree with that but that's not the point. There was motion sensing long before the Wii came out. Nintendo was simply able to capitalize on it because they got the message to the masses.

The inability to sense movement and move around is an big issue unless you are a fan of purely on-rail type games. I have yet to be impressed by Kinect and I need more to be encouraged to buy it especially at its price tag.

For the most part, jedi just push wth the force. Not that hard ith a nunchuck.

...and if it's a sith based game, I hope it's not like the God awful force unleashed where you play as some nameless sith who's more powerful than Vader, Yoda, and Zues combined.

Anyone who'd be interested in motion-sensing technology already owns a wii, so I'm guessing that both Move and Kinect will flop.

Its totally realistic to assume that there will be more games with Move/Kinect support than there will be people who own the addons.

At no point did EITHER of them look like a good idea.

It brings more people into gaming which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Everyone was a casual at one point. You can only become a hardcore if you start playing video games. Honestly I think it's good for the market as it's basically just expanding the market which will make the developers more wealthy and in turn we will get more games.

My parents bought a used 360 arcade for the lone purpose of watching Netflix movies (that was prior to streaming thru the Wii). They would probably buy this so they can essentaully trash their 360 controller and use their hands to start their movies.

Yes, HYPE creates attention and MANY will be impressed by it, but how can a product if it DOESN'T work well..be a SUCCESS and sell millions, expecially after someone tries it out at a friends house and doesn't like it? MILLIONS AND MILLIONS won't blindly buy something that expensive because it's the COOL thing to do. you're grasping at straws, dude. A product has to be GOOD to be considered GOOD, hype and marketing alone can only go so far, before it's compared and considered a failure.

That is exactly what I'm saying right there. To the average consumer there is no distinction between Sony's Move and the Wii so there is not the hype of cool new tech. Natal is different.

But I am asking for reason you, as a gamer would buy it. I don't think a majority of people would be in your situation to buy so they don't have to hit the play button.

kinect will fail with casual audiences and people who buy the 360 for its current games won't buy it

move will leech off of nintendo but won't radically change anything and won't be a big seller

Nintendo will come out with new ways to play games in a few years anyways

Yes, HYPE creates attention and MANY will be impressed by it, but how can a product if it DOESN'T work well..be a SUCCESS and sell millions, expecially after someone tries it out at a friends house and doesn't like it? MILLIONS AND MILLIONS won't blindly buy something that expensive because it's the COOL thing to do. you're grasping at straws, dude. A product has to be GOOD to be considered GOOD, hype and marketing alone can only go so far, before it's compared and considered a failure.

The Wii's motion technology is really not that great. Especually prior to Wii motion plus. It works well with a few select games (ie Wii Sports) which was packaged with the game system so everyone played it. The first games that come out with/for Kinect will probably look and play very well as the demo's have shown. Does that make it a viable long term controller 'no' but it makes it very very marketable.

[QUOTE="Firelore29"][QUOTE="Diviniuz"] Can you give me reasons why you are going to get it? I mean I would get Kinect if they had games to back it, their release titles aren't exactly what my cup of tea. The inability to sense movement and move around is an big issue unless you are a fan of purely on-rail type games. I have yet to be impressed by Kinect and I need more to be encouraged to buy it especially at its price tag.soapandbubbles
My parents bought a used 360 arcade for the lone purpose of watching Netflix movies (that was prior to streaming thru the Wii). They would probably buy this so they can essentaully trash their 360 controller and use their hands to start their movies.

Your parents = world? a controller requires your hands, but so does kinect..lol. why in the he11 would your parents by something rumored to be PRICEY just so they can use their hands, but without a device in it?

I'm using an example to make my point. Obviously I don't know everyone in the world and neither do you. Perhaps you're right, maybe they won't purchase it, but they will have the conversation about it. Expecually after I show it to them on launch day. They will not ever have a conversation about Move. Even if I purchase it and show them they will not. They already own a Wii (my Dad still plays Wii Sports btw). It will be exactly the same thing in their eyes.

kinect will fail with casual audiences and people who buy the 360 for its current games won't buy it

move will leech off of nintendo but won't radically change anything and won't be a big seller

Nintendo will come out with new ways to play games in a few years anyways

Sony and Microsoft should have just waited til' next-gen to do this.
I just don't see either of these peripherals taking off.

The Wii is the Wii. It's standard.
The PS3 is not MOVE. The 360 is not Kinect.

If this isn't marketed towards me, then it's marketed towards people who want to play Carnival Games, and Wii-Play.
They most likely already have a Wii. Who is going to buy this stuff? It's going to be expensvie as hell if you don't already own a PS3/360, and then.. you already have the Wii anways to play those kinds of games. I don't see better graphics as a selling point, if all that particular audience is interested in is gameplay. And, they would already have that at a much cheaper price.

With the prices they are charging for both, I don't see either doing well.

[QUOTE="0rin"]this is disgusting and humiliating. all of a sudden system warriors, some of the hardcore elite, are arguing about the better "casual market"? What has nintendo done to video gaming? they revived it in the 80's, and are now destroying it in the 21st century. sad.Firelore29
It brings more people into gaming which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Everyone was a casual at one point. You can only become a hardcore if you start playing video games. Honestly I think it's good for the market as it's basically just expanding the market which will make the developers more wealthy and in turn we will get more games.

Alright.. let me think of how to put this... What was wrong with the way it was when "we" were "casuals". The difference was, back then, Games were games. anyone who played was a gamer. Now, "casual" is an actual genre. THAT is what is wrong. it's an UNNECESSARY STEP. Just like everything these days. People are getting lazier and lazier, and companies keep spoon-feeding us this BS to keep us dumbed down. Do we really need another "step up" to become "gamers"? Was it really too hard for people to just play a game, and work at getting better at it? now we need to take more and more increasingly ridiculous baby steps? What next? Casuals calling the next generation of "easymode" trash "Super casual"??? jesus. When will it stop?! Today has really started to open my eyes to just how ridiculous and absolutely stupid this gen is turning out to be. The hardcore games are definitely awesome, but this outset of companies trying to cater to this "casual" audience THAT THEY INVENTED IN THE FIRST PLACE, is absolutely bonkers. What, not enough people were playing video games, so they had to go and dumb down gaming so any nitwit could pick up a controller? Yeah, sure, I get it. But what was stopping us, the (as you imply) "Casuals of yesteryear" from picking up our first controller? why didn't we say "its tooo hhaaaaarrrrddd"? Now I get why adults were always telling us "kid's these days" "when I was your age"... the same thing is applying to gaming. People are getting more and more lazy. That will be our downfall as a species. ... wow... thats deep.

As a father I will tell you flat out that I will buy Kinect because although my three year old cannot use a controller very well she can wave her hands around and jump around the room. Parents will buy Kinect for their children because of 3 reasons: 1. It gets their kids off the couch again (which is why they were ok with the Wii.) 2. It's easy to use even for small children. 3. They can play with their kids because it's very simple.

Maybe you shouldn't use the term "disgusting" so lightly.

See lookie there it is still possible to make educated speculation given previous knowledge and past experience.
