vandalvideo, what accounts for the other 70% of software sales? consoles and handhelds, correct? the pc is the biggest singular platform. but the consoles are systems developed specifically for gaming. they fall into the category of 'console.' thesmiterYou do realize console is a misnomer? It is a term that is quickly going out of date. We're talking about gaming platforms, platforms used for games. All three consoles are not one platform which share the same games and software. The PC is the single largest platform on the market, far surpassing any single platform.
Wrong, they do not count as one big category. See above. And you're wrong again, PCs are not innately more expensive than consoles. They have the potential to be, just ast hey have to potential to be cheaper.it counts as one big category. they all appeal to roughly the same casual target market. expensive pcs appeal to the more hardcore target market.
Completely and utterly wrong. You cannot combine three gaming platforms into one category which is nothing more than a passee classification. Consoles do not share the same software seemleslly. The PC is a single PLATFORM, just like the 360 is a SINGLE PLATFORM, and just like the PS3 is a SINGLE PLATFORM.and, therefore, consoles as a whole do indeed outsell pc. why are consoles put together? they are all systems with the singular funtion of gaming. pcs aren't. so consoles are all put together when compared to the pc.
All gaming PCs can play all the same software. They're all one cohesive gaming platform, unlike consoles.there are different kinds of pc, but all pcs are counted together. they are different inside, but they all play the same games. they are counted together.
Consoles are not one financial entity. Consoles are made up of three financial entities vying for seperate control of a marketspace. They are not some large fiscal market that competes directly with the PC. 360, PS3, and Wii do not form Voltron.pc is the largest platform, but consoles, acting as their own financial entity, defeat it in gaming sales.
