I knew this was the case after that E3 conference. Phil so for the last two years, was doing nothing to improve xbox first party line up for fan's! Why would anyone buy an xbox one x for exclusives that are 3 years away and i just know it's third party devs making games for them again. Phil, games are just as important as hardware, you can do both at the same time.

"When I started this job three years ago, hardware was a real focus for us because I thought we had more work to do there. Xbox One S shipped last year, the X is shipping this year, I love our hardware line. Xbox Live was something I wanted to focus, coming on Android, iOS, Windows PC because I really want people to play games on the place they want to go play.

Our first party is a critical part of that equation. Yesterday, I know people want to see what we’re investing in new.

We are investing in new things, we signed things just recently that I thought, ‘Hey, from a PR standpoint it would be really easy for me to put a trailer on screen’, but then I know the game is not coming for another two and half or three years, so I didn’t want to do that"

I like that approach and that's how it should be, but E3 works better for you when you announce high profile games.

I still like Xbox and it's exclusives. I just see the bullshit after this E3. Where is new AAA exclusives for next year and after? Microsoft should have started developing those games last year or before. And they kind of lied about the power of Scorpio or least tried to push the narrative it was a 4K native console and there be no compromises..

Give it rest.....cow. Games take years to develop. It's no different than Sony showing the same couple of games every year at the E3 conference. Most of those games don't come out for 2-3 years after they're 1st shown yet Sony still shows then at every E3.

Isn't that why people bought the PS4?

LOL. Where the hell have you head been? In the sand? So when Phil says he will leave it up to developers to decide how they will utilize the Scorpio's power that wasn't a hint for you? When Phil talked about MS games being native 4k and stressing first party games being native 4k, that also wasn't a hint to you? In fact non of those things are hints, they were literally telling you what to expect. But you were too busy being a fanman to see the frequent messaging of this prior to E3. E3 was not going to magically change things.

Spencer talks out of his ass constantly

3 years on the job and what the hell has he actually done to improve the XBOX brand?

The XBone X is going to be DOA.

On top of being totally redundant, they couldn't have picked a shittier name. The average consumer isn't going to know what the hell the difference is between an XBone S and an XBone X.

No to mention that if you don't already own a 50+" 4K TV, the thing is fucking pointless.

This whole "mid-gen" bullshit from Microsoft and Sony is beyond stupid.

Just wait until the PS5 or XB whatever inevitably come rolling down the pike by 2019.

Of course. Still you ignoring Gears of War development started in 2014. So for 2+ years Phil has not build up other studios or signed off on deals to make new first party AAA games for xbox! Listen to what he said we just signed deals recently. So you see a trailer maybe in a years time.

Please enlighten me as to why the hell anyone would pay $500 for a game system, specifically designed for 4K, when they don't already own a giant 4K TV?

You think tons of people are going to rush out and pay over $2,000 to upgrade their TV's and purchase this redundant hunk of shit?

The difference between cows and lems is that we have good games to play now. And more good games coming this year. We can wait for what was shown at E3. Yup XB1X is pretty much DOA lol

Right because ALL games take only 2 years. Ever heard of Alan Wake? TLG?

I don't have any issues with that he said. There isn't a lack of big budget or indie games on the X1. You're overreacting much like cows do.

Why would anyone buy an xbox one x for exclusives that are 3 years away

Because my favorite game series is Halo

I also love Gears for a TPS fix

I have been in the Sea of Thieves alpha since January and love it

I look forward to State of Decay 2, Cuphead is pre-ordered, Crackdown 3.

Because I want to is my number one reason to buy the console. It doesn't fit for you and that's ok, nobody cares. Buy whatever you want and tell yourself whatever you need to make it "right".

Speaking of logic, since when the hell did it become logical to drop half a grand on a console just to play all of your 2-3 year old XBone games...but with a slightly higher resolution and frame rate?

If you think that suddenly playing Gears of War 4 on the XBone X as opposed to the XBone S is going to totally blow your tits off...then I've got a bridge to sell you.

Lucky I'm a manticore. I have games to play on all platforms.

Give me break about X1 not having games. The best games are usually multiplat and the fact that X1 still has games that AREN'T coming out on the PS4 is good enough. The no games argument is old, boring and flat out a lie.

A non-issue for me since I have a ton of games to play and the 1st party is delivering top quality stuff such as Forza Horizon 3 which I still have a ton of playtime on. ...and this year they released Halo Wars which I haven't had a chance to play much yet but I think its a cool feature-rich game that fits nicely in the portfolio.

There are games releasing before 2-3 years such as Sea Of Thieves and Crackdown if all goes well, so the output is more than sufficient and it just depends on your tastes and what you enjoy. I fill the gaps in 1st party with 3rd party titles, like I said before their first party is a little weak on Story-driven titles, which I look at 3rd party for that stuff mostly. Important for me on Xbox One is that I have a lot of awesome games to play and as someone's who plays online competitively a lot, I'm quite pleased with their dedicated server support on all first party titles. Just stick with Playstation TC, there is really nothing wrong with that the PS4 pro appears to be a fantastic system with tons of great games to play.

Why didn't you get up in arms when they said NUMEROUS times that its up to developers to decide on how to use the power? Why are you bitching now? Did you expect some magical new reveal? When you were posting all those PRO Xbox threads did you hope MS would announce 12 TFLOPS console and say "Surprise" its faster? He did not change his position because NOTHING announced at E3 about the system specs and capabilities was new. NOTHING. The only thing that was left out from the initial reveal was price and release date. Gamers had all the information they needed about the system's capabilities prior to E3.

I honestly don't even know what you're talking about.

Can I not play games like Destiny 2 and Forza 7 on the base XBone or Xbone S?

Are they exclusive to the XBone X?

If not, and I already own an XBone/XBone S...then where the f*ck is my incentive to go out and pay $500 for an XBone X? Especiallyif I don't already own a 4K TV or plan on buying one in the near future?

This thing is destined to collect dust on store shelves ala the WiiU.

You have proven my point that you are not trying to be logical. If we are to go by your statement games like Assassin Creed, Destiny 2, COD, Forza 7 etc are not new games. Again you are not fooling anyone here.

You are moving the goalpost and I already answered your question about the advantage the system offers if you don't have a 4K TV.

I follow MS guys on Twitter they push the narrative of true power, true 4K all the time. So why are you guys pushing 4K so bad when your console, it not able to push 4K consistently on all games. Phil changed he position recently but he was all about true 4K only a few months ago.

Up to the developers, is a recent PR statement. Phil Spencer never said most third party games will be checkboarding to 4K. If we knew that months ago, it be less of an issue right now. He's still pushing the narrative of a stronger console that can handle 4K native easily.

Checkboard 4k and 30fps single player games, is not the narrative they promoted originally.

Moving the goal posts?

This has been my argument since my first post in this thread lol.

Unless you're obsessed with owning the latest tech or just spent big money on a 4K television and want to fully utilize it...there's no reason to buy this thing...at all.

It does literally everything the XBone S does...except with slight bumps in resolution and frame rates.

So essentially...useless, when considering the price tag.

I like that approach and that's how it should be, but E3 works better for you when you announce high profile games.

Nah, not when they are 2-3 years away.

E3 should focus on games coming out in the next 12 months.

I agree with Spencer, no point show trailers for games that is 2-3years away. The waiting is so painful if it is games you want play:P

What's happening to you? You were all pro Xbox and now you're shitting on the brand. Tell me your story!

E3 was not going to magically change things.

lol if you followed MS, you'd know that they're doing the same shit every time. Cloud, DX12, overclocked cpu, additional processing power when they cut off Kinect were all the things that were supposed to improve Xbone. None of them did. When it fails, Phil and MS in general change their position on the matter. Same happened with the promised native 4k.

Native 4k on a Jaguar CPU? Really? haha. There are more chances of having a Switch title running in 1080p/60fps than an AAA title running on the X in native 4k/30fps+

Just another case of Phil talking out of his ass

A single damn GTX 1080 isn't even capable of consistently running all games in 4K at a steady 60+ fps.

Yet I'm supposed to believe that a $500 console can manage this feat?

It's the epitome of bullshit

Cool! Maybe I'll get one in two or three years... or is this a promise like Cloud power?

MS is just trying to avoid another Scalebound situation and don't bother to show anything until like at least 90% game development is nearly finish and then, announce your product with release date. I like this approach, Sony will hype a game that won't be ready within 2/3 years. Playing the hype game from a PR is a very dangerous game to be doing, it's the execution a PR needs to remember.

@loe12k said:

We are investing in new things, we signed things just recently that I thought, ‘Hey, from a PR standpoint it would be really easy for me to put a trailer on screen’, but then I know the game is not coming for another two and half or three years, so I didn’t want to do that"

http://wccftech.com/spencer-signed-exclusives-2-3years/

You're biggest mistake you really set your biggest expectations way too high and you pay the price to be letdown what you want to expect what Xbox One X has to offer. Anyone who has been following X1X development since announce should already know what you are getting, an upgrade console, not next-gen console!

This doesn't surprise to any PC gamers out there, they know X1X isn't for them and are not expecting much what X has to offer.

Doesn't address the basic issue, shader bound bottleneck for XBO.

None of this addresses your claim

@loe12k "If we knew that months ago, it be less of an issue right now. He's still pushing the narrative of a stronger console that can handle 4K native easily."

We knew since LAST YEAR. I provided links from last E3 that demonstrates this. Stop pretending that this is a new direction or statement. After the E3 2016 conference the media bombarded MS (rightfully) to clarify what they meant and I gave you links to that clarification. You were wrong and its it time to move on. Not because you placed your head in the sand means MS is deceiving you.

Directly from the link provided. Last year E3.

Gamespot:- Microsoft GM Shannon Loftis recently said all first-party games launched in the Scorpio time frame will run be rendered natively at 4K instead of upscaled--do you think third-party games will generally follow suit?

Phil Spencer:- I want to put the tools in the hands of the creators and let them decide.
