"PlayStation 3 owners had to wait an extra year to get a crack at saving the galaxy one last time, and while the few extras and tweaks found in the exclusive international edition may seem a meager reward for your patience, they do make it the more enticing version to own . . . . The Last Hope remains a solid and mostly fun JRPG with a few character flaws that don't ultimately sink the ship. The international version is condensed onto a single disc, so there's no irritating swapping to deal with. Aside from the optional additional language tracks and the menu design tweaks, it doesn't hold any vast improvements over the Xbox 360 version. If you're hankering to suit up and go rid the galaxy of evil, you'll find this intrepid jaunt into the unknown packs enough danger and excitement to satisfy your sci-fi fantasy thrill-seeking urges."

Well, even with all the so-called improvements, it still ended up scoring the same as the Xbox 360 version; no doubt about that this is the superior version though.

Star Ocean was never really that special. =\

Isn't this SE's first game released on the PS3 now?

The game was good.
Nothing special. FF13 is the console rpg to wait for this gen.

Combat system looks excellent, but the dungeons and character models look truly terrible. I'm so sick of these god awful character designs in games like Star Ocean and Eternal Sonata. White Knight Chronicles also has pretty bad character models.

Maybe I'll get this... I've been itching for a decent JRPG and was horribly disappointed with WKC

Eternal Sonata's character models look like ass but to say a 6 was too much for it is going WAY too far.

Eternal Sonata didn't have any good thing except its combat everything else was way below average.

Well, comparing GS to Gamerankings and their reviews arn't far off from the averages at all...

"Character designs are also hit or miss. It's hard to empathize with the game's protagonists when they don't emote much, and there are moments when the dialogue is painful to sit through. The main updates in the international edition are in the audio and visuals. Instead of listening to the bad English dubs, you can now switch the dialogue over to the original Japanese voice work (and a few other languages), which definitely gives the package a more authentic anime JRPG feel."

Usually not, but I think The Last Remnant may actually be the exception. The 360 version scored a 6.5 on Gamespot. Four months later SquareEnix released the game on the PC and it managed to score an 8.0.

As for Star Ocean, I've been waiting to see if they were gonna review the international version. Appears to be getting some good scores, so I'll probably pick this up sometime after March.

In fact, for nostalgia sake, I'm going to dig up that SW thread about HYPE SCORE and this game...yep, it's A by about 160 voters! :shock:

Who cares about Polls, check out my brilliant post regarding the game back then, it's pretty dang accurate...

Im inclined to believe you havnt played LO if you feel that 7.5 was deserved. Your definitely in the minority on thatbigboss5ak

Best JRPGs this generation are

1- Lost odyssey

2- Valkyria chronicloes

3- ToV

and after them WKC > SO4 > TLR > Eternal sonata > Magna carta 2 and I still didnt play infinite undiscovery so I cant judge it (that list is for game which I played and excluded Demon's souls cuz its more of a WRPG).
