Cyberpunk 2077 and Crysis tweeted after a 4-year hiatus.

This does put a smile on my face.
There will be a new Crysis only when there's gonna be a new Cryengine because the series is nothing else but an engine showcase. There is no gameplay in these games, and that includes the brainless Crysis 1.
Oh here we go again. The same old butthurt tech demo narrative.
Butthurt for what? These games are an empty garbage bin. Pressing F in CoD campaign has more going on than there is in Crysis. I will download the game to stabilize my rtx3070 overclock lmao. That's the only purpose of these games.
I would laugh if it turns out to be Ryse 2.
Ryse had so much potential, I would love a sequel that polishes its flaws.
I'm down for any game set in history.
Ryse 2 with God of War world structure and combat could be top notch.
I just can't get really excited until I see gameplay of Stalker 2.
STALKER has always been better than Crysis.
Number one was sensational for it's time. People insisted the graphics would never be beat, because they were so far ahead of their time. 2 and 3, disappointments. Had the first game not been so revolutionary these 2 games might be thought more fondly of, but they were a sequel to THAT. I'd be up for more crysis, but along the lines of 1. We don't need to dumb down. No reason.

Get out of here Stalker.
Crysis is amazing no doubt but in the end Crysis feel more like console shooter with regen health and on rail segment.
STALKER the real PC FPS, with inventory and proper health system.
@ghosts4ever: Doesn't matter who wins or loses. In the end PC was winner.
yes, in the end PC wins.
Not sure why people thought Crysis 2 was bad.
It wasn't bad, I was just expecting Crysis 1 in the city

Yup, just as expected. The same old butthurt and jelly tech demo narrative. No wonder you idiots get yearly CoDs, ACs and countless UCs/clones with press 'X' to win games. The best thing about Crysis was never the graphics.

Crysis 2 had far superior gunplay
But Crysis 1 had more tactical options with it giving you 4 abilities to choose from.
It also had far larger maps.
I played Crysis 2 recently with Maldo HD and it can still be a pretty game.

Crysis 2 have better alien AI (the human AI was bad). Crysis 1 AI was kinda dumb.

Those were the days. Crysis appeals to more or less the same demographic that feels STALKER shits all over every single other open world game. Some people play STALKER and they feel nothing. Others play STALKER and they think, "Wow, this is the greatest videogame ever created." Deus Ex, FEAR, Crysis, STALKER all hang out in the same bar.
Crysis took the core gameplay formula of Far Cry 1 and supercharged it. Flipped the Predator/Prey relationship. In Far Cry you were the hunted. In Crysis, you are the hunter. And on top of that, Crysis has a memorable cast of characters and a very, very strong aesthetic.
I thought crytec went under?
Honestly, why?
Also, wasn't Crytek going out of business?
Did some digging, they have a main studio in Frankfurt, Germany with a few hundred employees, as well as two much smaller studios in Turkey and the Ukraine. They have a new unannounced AAA game in development that they're recruiting for. The remaster(s) are likely a side project, and some speculate the unannounced game is Crysis 4. We'll find out in due time.
@vaeh: In current era i have faith in Crysis 4 to deliver. If it was 7th gen, i would have assume dumbed down now look at ambitious games like Cyberpunk which crysis is not 1 4th of it.
Crysis 4 today would definitely more open than Crysis 1.
I didn't get the crysis hype played it way back on PS3 and thought it was nothing special. I think it should be a entirely new game or at least a full reboot.
Crysis 2 was a good game, it just wasn't a good Crysis game. Even at its most dumbed down it was still a much more complex shooter than every major console title sans Halo.
But hopefully this time people realize that you don't need to dumb down games for consoles. Fortnite proved that hopefully. You can fit a lot of complexity in a controller and it won't scare too many people away. You just have to make the game fun as well.
As for the PC graphics dear God. Crysis 3 still kicks the shit out of just about any title out there right now, especially in 4k.
Not interested one bit. Crytek haven't made an excellent game or an actual Crysis game since 2008. The talent has left the studio. Crytek is shell of its former self like Bioware.
I don't know about you but my friends are having fun playing Hunt: Showdown
I would laugh if it turns out to be Ryse 2.

I'm down for any game set in history.
so you love Rome 2
Hunt: Showdown is quite good. It's one of the better MP games out these days.
Since we really didn't know what happened to Nomad after the first game, there's a chance this will be a sequel to his "story."
But it's a safe bet that this is a remaster, with better engine optimizations to all platforms.

Wrong person to say that shit to. I have never bought a single CoD game, don't like UC one bit and its press F to win, not X. Crysis is a great benchmark to stress test your overclock. Nothing else.
I really enjoyed Crysis 1 and Warhead. Crysis 2 I had to push myself the finish it, certain story elements were just stupid and I didn't like the dumbed down suit mechanics at all. Crysis 3 I thought was better than Crysis 2. I wont get excited for a Crysis 4 but Id be a bit interested in a Crysis 1 and/or Warhead remake so long as they didnt adopt the Crysis 2/3 suit mechanics.
What I would like to see is the following bundled together:
Crysis Wars was the multiplayer component they added on later that was, quite frankly, outstanding. Imagine the scale of Battlefield, the nanosuit of Crysis, and the cash-based purchasing system of Counter-strike mixed together. It was a lot of fun, and you could buy vehicles and stuff, it looked simply stunning, and the objective-based gameplay was really great.
Of course, I would much prefer Crysis 4 TBH, but this is Crytek we are talking about, they are a far cry *cough* from their Crysis 1 glory days.
@davillain-: I want to see this:
But as a sequel or a reboot of the franchise.
I want the gameplay back from Crysis 1 (4 super powers) but I don't just want the original game being remade 1 to 1.
edit: Timestamps don't seem to work anymore, starts at 2:17
That part at 2:17 reminds me of one of my most vivid game memories: shortly after landing on the island and going through the first 5-10 minutes, the dawn starts to break and you go up this hill and see this picturesque setting: a beachside shack (full of KPA soldiers, naturally), a lovely beach, tropical jungle, and a sunrise coming over the Pacific ocean.
That memory still sticks with me to this day because that is when the game truly opened up to the player and let them go, but also let us know just how beautiful a game can be.

OK, now we know you're trolling.
The 1st Crysis impressed me ended up getting a whole pc upgrade with a Geforce 8800GT to play decently.
One of my favorite screenshots for desktop background I took back then.
Man that looks good. I still think Crysis is a great looking game, the only mod I ever applied was the HD vegetation.
Everything else looked fine (apart from say, building interiors)

Indeed, Crysis had such an awesome intro.
Paradrop in by night, throw some turtles on a beach, and eventually walk over that ridge to take in the view.
Crytek knew what they were doing and succeeded in blowing everyone's minds. It was such a huge impact that even years later people who never played it refer to it as a tech demo :P

Anyone who understands what the **** was going on in that game deserves a medal.
Never have I played a game where people fart out so much Hollywood gobbledygook and cared less.
Funny thing as well, before the game was released they were basically boasting about the quality of the story lol
Crysis: Warhead I really liked story-wise, didn't take itself seriously, was like some Roger Moore era Bond movie with Jason Statham, good spirited.
Crysis 2/3 thought it was fucking Shakespeare or something.

Yeah, I realize that now I shouldn't have said this. Asking to use your imagination and brains in a game is too much to ask.
Crysis was for sure one of the greatest FPS of all time. Just because it is the most graphically impressive game ever made people think it was all about graphics. Which is wrong. its gameplay was phenomenal.
yea, and when SLI actually worked...... because i think it was like 8-9 months later after I got the 8800GT I picked up another one for $125. I ended up having to upgrade my case to a HAF 932 to combat the heat thrown off these bad boys, which was over heating my south bridge chipset. and ended up getting a couple of duo orb coolers to cool them better too. Those 8800's lasted me until early 2011, limited vram and no sli support put an end to their usefulness.
Cloak engaged! Keep it coming baby.
Remake than Crysis 4 that will be open world game.
Crytek coming back after decade.
Why excitement my freind? 2/3 sucked.
No reason this will be any different. Probably "modernize" it with Ubisoft style bullshit.

2 3 released in worst time of gaming.
I see many games back to roots that why. still not very excited. more excited for STALKER 2 which even if they ruined some how. modders will fix everything.
Crysis 1 was already modernize FPS. regen health, cutscene, on rail segment and second half was linear and scripted so?
I bet Crysis 4 would be far more ambitious than Crysis 1 today.

Wonder who is going to fund an ambitious OW Crysis? I assume Crytek is still kind of broke. What if it is Microsoft?...
