Switch can run Crysis Remastered

Crytek got supremely arrogant thinking it should be getting Halo level sales both threatening and eventually betraying the pc community.

While many smooth brain dumb dumb called it a tech demo, Crytek eventually capitulated embracing these derogatory comments as fact.

Nowadays every game is open or semi open world. so chances of next Crysis to be linear is nill.

I'd much rather play something like Thief where it's ultimately linear but extremely dense and focused.

Far better than a big Ubisoft bowl with do-the-exact-same-mind-numbing shit 900 times scattershot approach of throwing as much shit at the wall as possible regardless of how watery it is.

Doom Eternal is probably best FPS ever next to STALKER.

Crysis was a god-tier FPS that's still better than most modern FPSs, by orders of magnitude. I'd actually be really stoked on a remake in the newest version of the engine. As long as it was a proper remake that took EVERYTHING of the original game and redid it with the modern graphics. Not just the original setting, with the mechanics and limitations of the newer games. I'd love to see Crysis 1, full suit powers, destructible environments, physics and vehicles included, with the visual level of Crysis 3, if not beyond.

you didn't like the game for legit reasons but you can still appreciate what it brought to the table gameplay wise, it just wasn't your cup of tea? fine, fair play to you. it wasn't perfect.

Anyways, the initial stretch of Crysis 1 + Warhead were legit. Would love to see more of that freeform sandbox style play. A whole new game that adheres to the originals strengths would be nice, but I wouldn't mind a remake either.

I would hope that it's the complete trilogy remaster under the latest Cryengine with some tweaks and story fixes added. There are many parts to the story and certain game segments that were just downright stupid or completely out of place.

see now. Crysis is so dated by today standard that even switch can run it. its no longer 2007. its 2020. and we are getting more ambitious games.

I guess the best time to release a remastered version of a last gen game is at the end of the current gen. These people are simply brilliant. :|

hopefully warhead comes bundled with it. a crysis / warhead hybrid game mode allowing you to flit between the two timelines as events unfold and psycho diverges off on his own mission(s) would be cool too

Hopefully they make C2 and C3's non cannon and then give us a trilogy we deserve with Nomad and the mechanics of 1.

Crysis 2 was ok but what bad was Crysis 3. one of the worst FPS ever made. absolutely trash with overpowered clocking all the time and stupid bow.

Fun fact: Crytek at the time had Crysis 3 running on Wii U and wanted to port it but EA said nope and seeing this remastered coming to Switch wouldn't surprise me. That pic is horrible to look at!

Jokes aside, I am interested. I wonder if they're just gonna port the 360/Ps3 version or if they will actually try and get a PC-like version to play on it. At 562P/17fps.

Even 360 can run Crysis. But its on switch lets hype it up and for nintendo fans, suckered into buying yet another port.

Aye it should be interesting. Its the CPU side of things more than anything that will interest me. I would say it will use the newer engine as a demonstration of the scalability of their new tech.

I played crysis at 1280X1024 at pretty high settings on an 8800GTX, 2GB of ram and a core 2 quad QX6700. Performance was good and it looked very nice.

on paper the GPU in the switch is in a completely different league to the ol 8800GTX. it also has plenty of ram (3GB available for games). memory bandwidth will probably be a problem though and the CPU....hmm.....interesting.

360 couldnot run Crysis 1. that was Crysis 2 set in island.

I'm not surprised that it can run on the Switch. The Wii U, with all its limitations, could run Crysis 3. What surprises me is that EA is going to release the game on Switch at all. I'm used to them passing on the platform.

The switch can run doom 2016 and witcher 3 so anything is possible.

Sweet. I’m looking forward to this Crysis remaster as I’ve never played the game myself. It’s really cool that it’s coming to the Switch but I’ll probably just stick to the Xbox One version myself.

Already have crysis on PC, I will consider picking up on the switch tho because I'm intrigued Thats wild, crysis on a handheld lol
